“Great old-fashioned Chinese Restaurant! The food is very tasty and the service is friendly and prompt! The dish that this restaurant is most known for is the Crispy Beef Proper and it is very good! Also this resturant servers some of the BEST Mi Ti drinks in the area.“

“We love how clean, modern and classy this restaurants looks inside. It's very spacious and has a more upscale atmosphere. We researched and ordered the more popular dishes such as the spicy noodle, fried cauliflower, Lamb & Fish ball stew. My husband enjoyed the flavor of the stew, which is more soup like, than a thick stew. The whole family loved the fried cauliflower and it inspired me to find a similar recipe online, which I cook on regular rotation now. It doesn't turn out the same as this place, but close enough, since we don't live close to this restaurant. We'd definitely come again if we have a chance in the future.“

“Food was pretty good though I think this is the first restaurant I’ve ever been asked to leave due to an incoming reservation. We (party of 3) were in the process of leaving anyways but being asked to leave when we’ve been there for under 45 minutes from our own reservation and sitting down at the table. Left a bad impression on an otherwise pleasant experience.“

“This is a great place for hot pot. It's all you can eat, so you definitely don't feel as overwhelmed by the options. I really liked the beef tongue, flavor of the tilapia, and fish balls. Dumplings could have used a bit more flavor, and were a bit hard to cook. I also like that you can pick from 6 vegetables. Service was nice as they held onto one of my guest's credit card after they lost it.Overall, highly recommend.“

“If you love Korean food and Chinese food, then you come to the right place. This is a small hole in the wall restaurant that serves excellent food. It reminded me of the little side restaurants in Korea where you can get a good home cooked meal. After leaving Korea, part of this dining experience left me as well. Finding a great authentic restaurant like this in the Ft Belvoir area is not easy to come by. The place is small with limited seating, so check before coming by. The food was outstanding, and we will be back for more.“

“I will drive across the state to get food from here. This has been the most consistent, portion-generous, tasty takeout place we have discovered since moving to the area. Orders are always accurate, ready on time and the food tastes better than most takeout places we've been to over the years. An awesome gem tucked into an inconspicuous location.“

“My daughter is 4 and she loves their Sesame Chicken, Shrimp and Broccoli, Lo Mein, Egg Rolls, and Crab Rangoon. I’ve tried ordering from other places and she’s barely tolerated it so I have to drive there even though we’ve moved farther away. That’s how good it is. I’ve tried other dishes as well such as their Szechuan green beans, Kung Pao, Dragon and Phoenix, and it’s all very good. It’s my go to spot. And the staff there are so nice and always get our order right. It’s the best for Takeout Chinese.“

“I had the beef with broccoli and fried rice! Everything was tasty. 4 starts because I also had the hot and sour soup and it was bad. Tasted burnt and I’m sad because the soup was the reason I ordered :(Some restaurants get it absolutely right and others…. Well ?“

“I have a love/hate relationship with this place. When it comes to events, everything is at the lobby once you walk in and it's filled with neon lights, a dimly lit bar full of many offerings of alcohol you can get, a few small sections for VIP for your friends, and usually a DJ playing their music. There's open karaoke as well but I don't know if people sing often in the lobby. So I have been here many times for my friends and even booked a room as well. Rooms are spacious and they do have pretty nice audio. But there is one thing that truly irks me every time I come here. So they have a touch screen where you can add your karaoke songs through YouTube or through their system but getting the videos to load is a pain. It's annoying to deal with because it skips to the next song in queue so if you are with a group of 5+ more people, it can be very stressful. The worst part is we asked the staff about it and they aren't really sure what to do about the connection. I mean they should really fix that because I'm sure it gets people upset. No one wants their song to be skipped. Aside from that, you can also hear the loudness from other rooms, I don't expect that to be an issue but it's noticeable on busy nights. If you do plan to go here, there's one thing I highly advise before going. Check their socials if they are hosting any event and call ahead to know about the room rates. The website shows their original flat rates for the room but in events, they raise the prices up. If you go in person, check the menu before deciding to put your money down. This place also adds gratuity to the bill so be prepared to drop down a lot. While I frequently come back here just to hang out with friends, karaoke is one of my favorite hobbies. Its never a good time when your song doesn't get played or you get charged way more than you should.“

“The food tastes amazing! Highly recommend the noodles. The XLB was really good, but pricey at $14 for only 6 dumplings. Definitely one of the top Chinese restaurants in the Alexandria area. Worth going for the food! But prepare to drop some money for the food. The interior decoration is very aesthetic, has a very traditional Chinese vibe inside.“

“Duck Chang's has been a fixture in Annandale for half a century or so. I remember going to it as a little kid with my parents, and now I still go with my family. The food is very good, especially (as you might expect) the duck dishes. The location in a little strip mall might put you off, but the food is great!“

“I love mala tang and any food made with mala base. I tried several places in DMV area and this is the BEST. I loved their rich, flavorful mala tang with lots of ingredients in it. Some place comes with very little amount of veggies/meat with huge amount of yam/roots, but this place give good amount of meats and veggies to enjoy. This is definitely my goto place and can't get enough of it.“

The food is always very good, and eating in with the lovely staff and the atmosphere made the food even better. On my next trip in I will take pictures of the food. The three of us had appetizers, drinks, and main course.“

“This is the best Chinese takeout we have found in the area - we drive here from Waldorf to pick it up because it really is better than any other place we have found. The only one that comes close is Hunan Star in La Plata but this is still preferred. My husband loves their General Tso chicken and I'm a big fan of their Egg Foo Young. Portion sizes are large so we always have leftovers! Worth the drive to Manokeek!“

“Always hits the spot when I’m craving a good bowl of jjajangmyun or jjampong. I’ve brought my Korean parents here and even they deemed it a worthy option near dc, that’s saying a lot. I’ve recommended American coworkers and they’ve had great experiences. I’ll do take out and the staff is always kind, efficient, and the order is always ready on time. If you’re looking for a bougie trendy option, perhaps seek an alternative location, but if you’re looking for an authentic meal with a great deal, the quality delivers here.“

“Friendly staff and yummy food that was prepared fast. I went in Saturday haven't been in the area for almost a year. I noticed immediately it was extremely cold the woman in the kitchen was the only one there and business was slow. She was bundled up and cooking my food. It broke my heart thinking about working in those frigid conditions. I hope this restaurant isn't struggling business wise and maybe just a slow day with a broken heater. Times are tough support a small locally owned business wish I snagged a photo of the food, but I'll be back soon.“

“I have been to this restaurant for years now, since it was called Golden Hong Kong, but, now under new owners and management, it is known as Hot Peppercorn. The food used to be exquisite, well executed and delicious, under the new management when it first opened. I always enjoy their Duck, Salted Fish Fried Rice, the Noodle Dishes, and the Soup Dumplings are very tasty, my son can eat a whole order by himself. However in recent months, I've found a slight change, and not in a good way. The dim sum, especially the siu mai and the har gaw have shrunk in size, and very dried out, not sure if they had them sitting there for a while. The Honey Walnut Prawns I orderd this last time were not whole prawns, infact they were chopped up pieces of shrimp, then battered and fried shaped into the size of what the prawn should have been. The Salt and Pepper Pork Chops were not so good either, they were just greasy, but not crisp as they usually are, and kind of thinner than usual. I understand that things have become a bit more expensive in the last two years, but I don't think restaurants should skimp on the quality of ingredients, especially if you still want to charge the same as you have been. I would lessen the portion, and keep the standard of quality as it has been for years. (these pictures are from two separate occasions)“

“The folks at Goodies in Indian Head have always been very pleasant to me! Tonight they remembered me and grabbed my order to hand me before asking for my order number. They noted that that had not seen me in awhile and I relayed I had retired from the Navy base in Indian Head so wasn't going past their restaurant on a regular basis now. Food has always been good! Love their General Tso's Chicken wings!“

“Came here bc my brother had recommended it and was not disappointed. I did have my doubts initially though. Very good jjambbong (짬뽕). The seafood one (sam sun jjambbong 삼선짬뽕) had a bunch of mussels in it. I think the highlight was the tang soo hook (탕수육). Batter/breading to meat ratio was near perfect as it was crispy and chewy. I got a medium sized order for myself and it def would be shared among a few people if you were also getting something else. Service was attentive and polite. I didn't have any issues during my visit.Note on parking. No issues with the parking but the angled parking by the main entrance doesnt have an exit on the other end (as angled parking would suggest a unidirectional flow of traffic). You'll have to turn back around the way you went in.Vegetarian options: Didn't look specifically for vegetarian options on the menu but it is a Korean restaurant so there usually are vegetarian options, non-meat options, seafood only options.Parking: No issues with the parking but the angled parking by the main entrance doesnt have an exit on the other end (as angled parking would suggest a unidirectional flow of traffic). You'll have to turn back around the way you went in.Wheelchair accessibility: The restaurant is on the same floor as the ground and as I recall, there is a ramp to the sidewalk and entrance.“
