“Amazing design AND taste!! Kelley made 3 golf-themed cakes for our birthday weekend. The large cake was a 3-tier golf "Caddy Shack" cake. EVERYTHING was edible, including the gopher ;). I hope Kelley will post a photo of the cake/s, since it won't let me do it here.“

“I spent days searching for a local baker who could make a sugar and dairy free wedding cake, and now this is the only place I trust for allergen friendly desserts. I've tried many local bakeries that supposedly cater to allergies only to literally throw $40 desserts in the trash because they're inedible. But not Marie, the desserts she makes taste amazing every time. She's super creative and is always coming up with new recipes, great customer service! If you have allergies, sensitivities, or dietary restrictions, this lady is the baker to go to!“

Located in a corner of the street the place was easy to find, they have indoor and limited outdoor seating options, very friendly staff.

“So many fun different varieties of cakes, pastries, and other various treats. There were also pre-wrapped sandwiches in their to-go fridge. I even got a cute mug to remember my visits by. I went here twice on my weekend trip to Richmond. After going the first time, I didn’t think it made sense to eat breakfast anywhere else in the area. Updated from previous review on 2026-09-21“

“A friend and I went to the store this week, it was well worth the 5 hour drive! The service was super! The Box lunch was awesome! The Breads were the best ever! You will not be disappointed! The Blueberry cookies, challah bread, Ukrainian bread, pumpkin bread, pimento cheese and honey butter cannot be matched anywhere else! Kudos to all the staff who made the delicious bread and goodies! Well, worth the drive for old fashioned customer service and great products! Thank you to all!“

“I was told these were the best biscuits in the world. Early Bird did not disappoint. I’m from out of state, just visiting.
I got their “biscuit of the day”, which was topped with bacon and a sweet maple glaze. It was heavenly. Ate the whole thing without a sip of my coffee. It was so buttery-soft and moist. 10/10 would recommend. Total was like $8, great deal.
Also enjoyed their antique decor, especially their uranium glass. So cool!“

“I come to IH all the time, right on my street. This morning I got the mixed berry galette and it is the best thing I’ve ever eaten. Not too sweet, perfectly flaky, with the slight crunch of granulated sugar washed on the dough. It is absolute perfection. Please consider making it a regular 😍 Thanks for all you do. Great bakers, great staff, love the music. Thankful you’re always there for brekkie when I’ve been too lazy to grocery shop.“

“I recently stopped by Pies and Cakes in Richmond, and it’s a charming little bakery that really impressed me. The shop is small and cozy, but the desserts are packed with flavor. They offer a rotating selection of pies, cakes, cookies, and cupcakes, so there’s usually something new to try each time you visit.
I tried one of their cupcakes, and it was incredibly soft with rich, balanced frosting. Everything tasted fresh and homemade rather than overly sweet. The staff were welcoming and happy to explain the different flavors, which made the experience even better.

“As a Brazilian I have to say that this place is pure magic and the best of treats to find in VA and the US! One of the things I miss most about Brazil is bakeries and their delicious and amazing pastries and treats!
Different than most Brazilian restaurants that will mostly serve dishes and plates with rice and beans, this location serves pastries (savory and sweet), cakes, breads, and some Brazilian grocery items. Everything that I have tried there has taken me back to Brazil and tasted just like home!
I’ve heard about their buffet, but haven’t tried. However, based on all the things I’ve tried, I can’t imagine being anything short of incredibly delicious!

“I found these folks at Ashland Train Day. I broke my rule about not buying anything until walking the whole event. And boy am I glad I did! their food is so good! I got some cheesy roll things, a garlic cheese style bread, a blueberry scone? I think it was, and a fruity pebble style rice krispie treat. Everything was so incredibly yummy! “Our experience with getting our wedding cake from Sugar Magnolia was the best! After submitting an inquiry, we worked with the owner, Ella, to confirm flavor, design, and all logistics. On the day, the wedding cake looked exactly like the inspirational photos we had sent over and it tasted even better than it looked. The price was great and we got lots of compliments. If you’re looking for anything custom made in the Richmond area we would highly recommend!“

“Sefton is the greatest cafe in richmond, the staff are so kind to everyone who comes in. I get the same thing every time I come in to the point where barista’s and the owners know my order 😂. I get it bc it’s easy on my stomach, but they have such an amazing looking menu and are always changing it to fit the season! I always make sure to bring friends and family who are visiting here because it really is a special part of the community 🙂“

“We used the mixing bowl for our wedding this past May. I had such a lovely experience with them throughout the entire planning process. They really helped us narrow down our options and speak to the way in which each flavor and icing style would present aesthetically so that we could help coordinate our choices to fit our wedding! They also were extremely patient as our guest count fluctuated and allowed us to edit our guest count accordingly up until the very end! The cupcakes and cake turned out BEAUTIFULLY! People were absolutely raving about how delicious the wedding cake was — some even said it was the best they’ve ever had! They also helped facilitate our design plan of incorporating edible flowers into our desserts. It looked so cool and unique! I would totally recommend them to anyone in the market for a wedding or event. They’re great!“
