“Great neighborhood bar. Very friendly managers, wait staff, and bartenders. Food is pretty good - standard sports bar fare, but maybe a notch above. Best value: loaded nachos (you can add on toppings for a little extra) and chicken tenders (nice and meaty and not greasy.) Worst value: DO NOT waste your money on the Buffalo wings. You basically get a plate full of tiny overcooked wings that will make you think "this must be what chicken jerky tastes like." Really disappointing dish for what's otherwise a pretty darned good "Cheers" kind of place.“
“On somewhat of an impromptu trip to Richmond, after dinner, we headed to my favorite local Cigar spot, Mona Lounge & Cigar Bar. I'm glad the word lounge comes before cigar in the name because Monas is definitely more of a lounge these days. This would be my third time coming to Monas and it has become more and more popular each visit. So much so, there's a Doorman and a line backed down the sidewalk if you come on a Saturday after 9. Trying to get a table seat without a reservation will fall on death ears so you'll have to try your luck at the two bars if you want to sit down. On Saturdays there's live music on one side and a dj on the other. Mona's offers a full food menu and the food is actually good, especially for a lounge. The cigar selection is limited and the humidor is super small. I do appreciate that they don't require you to purchase a stick so you can bring your own. It seems that they're not fully utilizing the space in the main room to the fullest. They could easily add several tables and it wouldn't feel crowded (in my opinion)..LOL! All and all, Mona Lounge and Cigar Bar is always a good time, and we noticed, the women outnumbered the men which I have NEVER seen where cigars are being smoked. Told ya, Monas was more of a lounge..LOL!!“
“Absolute best Popeyes I have ever been to. From the moment being created as I walked in to the speed of getting my food from time order was placed. The food was not over cooked and the new wings in which other Popeyes locations in my experience had sauced (flavored) just right not too much yet entire crispy crust covered. Also the restaurant was so clean and neat in which I have not seen. All the employees working looked professional in uniforms and you could tell that they value the service and customer by providing amazing quality food and service.Again great experience and will be returning to this exact location in Glen Allen even though live in Mechanicsville and there are Popeyes near me. Customers will travel for quality service and I am one of them.“
“Had to make a stop downtown for business and grabbed an early dinner right before Christmas. It was our first time trying this spot. It was so wonderful, the food, the server, atmosphere and the creative creation when I asked for one of their signature cocktails to be hot vs iced. Happy new year and here’s to wonderful food and company!“
“Stopped by today for the first time (because we love quesadillas) and we were not disappointed! We had an order of the Nacho Business, Winna Winna Chicken Dilla, and Jamaica Me a Dilla and WOW was it all delicious! The food was seasoned perfectly! The guys working were super friendly and attentive. We will definitely be going back!Parking: There is plenty of on site parking.“
“I came here for a work event and we were directed to the event space. I got the short rib and a couple others got the salmon. Both were wonderful.Drinks were a little slow but heavily poured and made for a lively evening. The night was made by the service given by Rylee. She took the time to connect with everybody and made us all feel welcome while giving wonderful service. Her patience and expertise made the night a wonderful experience!“
“Dinner at Alewife was the highlight of our five-day visit to Richmond. First off, it was a relief to get out of downtown Richmond with its huge empty parking lots, boarded up storefronts and deserted streets. The historic Church Hill section, with its 19th century row and other houses and interesting looking restaurants and shops, was such a pleasant change. Parking near Alewife was a bit of a challenge, but we quickly found a spot just a block away. The restaurant itself has a fascinating vibe, part friendly neighborhood spot and part disarmingly upmarket dining room. You just knew the food would be interesting, and it was. We started with a gin and tonic and a non-alcoholic beer. The menu is fairly short and apparently changes nightly, or at least frequently.I would never in this world think that I would enjoy an appetizer of raw oysters, bright green pickle juice, creme fraiche and fresh dill. But it was an amazing flavor combination. My partner's appetizer was equally interesting -- lox on thick, toasted rustic bread. As mains, we had the arctic char, with grilled carrots, and the skate, both perfectly prepared and delicious. Service throughout the meal was just right -- friendly, attentive but not overly so. Our charge for two, including tip, was around $150, well worth the price. Thank you for a great meal experience!“
“We came here for happy hour and I could taste that they used a good tequila in the margarita it was so good. I was going to get the firecracker shrimp but they had some Reuben sandwiches left from Saint Patties Day so we both had them and we weren’t disappointed! It came on marbled bread and the corned beef was sweet and tender with no gristle. Shout out to Brendan and DeAndre for excellent service! It was my BFF’s birthday dinner and they sent over a yummy chocolate cake for her. Thank you. Also, shout out to the chef as she really knows how to cook corned beef — it really was delectable.Edited to add that the beet tower with goat cheese was awesome!“
“First time here while in town visiting a friend for weekend and it’s safe to say, I’ll definitely come back!! The Caprese was absolutely delicious with the Buffalo mozzarella as the star and the Braised Beef tacos with the Roasted Beets were divine!“
“We went for lunch on a weekday and it was very busy. Beautiful restaurant, and great atmosphere. I got a Cuban, which I was disappointed with. It was more like a sub than a Cuban. Service was subpar, and the wait for food was long. I understand it was busy, and they may have been understaffed.“
