“I go here all the time and always love going. it is such a lively place, and the waiters are always very nice. the food is always amazing and ones they did mess up my order, but it was a bigger and better burger and even though it was more expensive they still charged the price of the first burger.“

“What an amazing experience it was to discover this place. We had a fabulous brunch, and I must say I am not usually a brunch fan. My tofu scramble burrito was genius and my wife's smoked salmon was delicious and accompanied by the expected (capers) and unexpected (Pico d gallo). Cute, cozy, and unassuming interior and attentive, if busy, staff. We will be back!“

“This is the spot! I’m not from the area but ended up finding this gem when I was in the area for work. Not only is the food amazing but so is the staff, absolute service with a smile. I appreciate all food that’s made with love and passion and I was not disappointed with J’Angelas. All of then food was so flavorful and delicious, but I think my favorite were the custard filled plantain desert empanadas ??“

“The only reason this review is 4 stars is because they got rid of their Chorizo Hash.My girlfriend and I love to stop at Foode whenever we drive through Fredericksburg. We’ve been 5 or 6 times in the past year. I always get the Chorizo Hash bowl, but I was so disappointed the last time we went because they no longer serve the Chorizo Hash. I reluctantly got the Chiliquilles instead. The dish was very flavorful in its own right, and it lessened my disappointment somewhat, but I implore Foode to bring back the Chorizo Hash permanently. It was one of the best dishes I’ve ever eaten. In lieu of bringing back the dish, I would love to have the recipe for the tahini sauce.“

“We went out for dinner on a Saturday night. I ordered a sandwich and onion rings and my husband ordered a country fried steak and coleslaw. They accidentally overcooked his steak so they redid it. I wish they had offered him a free dessert for his wait. But the food was tasty and we enjoyed listening to live music.Parking: It was crowded and we got the last spot in their lot.“

“It's OK. What you'd expect from a modern chain-like popular eatery...busy on a Saturday at lunch-time with the usual wait for an indoor booth, no wait for patio, bar or the shared 'community table' high tops.Menu has full range of apps, salads, sandwiches, tacos, steaks and modern taproom food with a specials menu.Buffalo cauliflower app was so salty it was inedible. Nachos were great and we really appreciated allowing us to substitute the pulled pork for grilled chicken. Kids chicken fingers plate had hot, tasty shoe-string fries, but chicken fingers themselves, small and dried-out. Friend liked her fried chicken sandwich and husband liked his sliders. My side-dishes (asparagus, mashed potatoes and sweet potato fries) were good, but mains came to us cold to lukewarm like they had sat too long before delivered to the table.Service was friendly from hostess stand to server, but drinks came slow and visits were spotty. We'd try again if in the immediate vicinity and husband really wanted beer variety, but we'd want to check out other options too.Vegetarian options: Salads and sidesKid-friendliness: They provide coloring sheet, crayons, kid menu.“

“This place I just can't... I mean, this was the absolutely BEST food experience I have had to date!! I booked reservations for my boyfriend's birthday because we enjoy food and wine pairings and I had found this place on the internet and thought it was right up his ally. The ambiance is clean and modern. The food is off the chart. And the service was okay... with the most cordial person being the chef who brought one of our meals out and chatted with us a bit. I would normally enter in to a long drawn out review here, but I am reading others' and they say it best. I will say that the Salmon and Ginger was actually one of the best morsels of food I have ever put in my mouth! And I despise Salmon. LOL“

“We were early for our reservation. ( i-95 is unpredictable) Seated promptly. Drinks, on point. Appetizers were yum. We especially enjoyed the fried green tomatoes. Great balance. Mains were good. We had pork chop with green beans and fingerling potatoes....the pork chop was definitely a win. Flavor and cooked perfectly, the green beans cooked and seasoned well, but not particularly special. The potatoes were underseasoned, and could've been more crispy. The crab cakes were awesome. Clearly almost no filler! Garlic mash was good, but not outstanding. Creamed spinach was rich as six foot....balanced with the garlic. Overall, yes, we will be back. Amazing service and attention. Don't show without a reservation, and, as clearly stated on the door, no one under 18 yrs of age. Don't show up with an infant carrier.“

“This place is PHENOMENAL! Went to Foode on "first Friday" Arrived without a reservation, and despite being pretty busy was seated right away. Hostess and my server (Kat) both recommended the confit duck leg (it was the feature entree) but as you can see I went a different direction (I had reviewed the menu before I got there). Kat was a great waitress, attentive, yet not over the top attentive. Started with the local sourdough boule which came warm with soft butter and olive oil (because I love bread and I knew how well it would go with the entree). Off to a great start. For my entree I had the shrimp and grits with a side of the roasted root vegetables. The shrimp and grits was really good, there's a flavor in there I could not identify but added not only flavor but a very interesting bouquet. Shrimp were relatively giant and were perfect. Roasted root vegetables were, again, perfect....a nice variety of vegetables and a surprise of candied walnut mixed in which added a whole new flavor dimension. I did take the hostesses recommendation and had the chocolate chip cookies for dessert. Here's where they go from 5 to 4 stars. Yes, the presentation was awesome (I mean, haven't we always said to ourselves if a restaurant would just serve some milk with dessert?) and the cookies were warm and giant. But...they aren't really chocolate chip cookies. They're more like a spice-oatmeal cookie with some chocolate chips added in. I was disappointed, not because they didn't taste good (they did) but because they weren't really chocolate chip cookies. Foode is housed in an old bank building, nice decor. I didn't see much of the space but what I saw was pretty cool. I will definitely be back. Pricey? Not really. Yes, my bill was $62 before tip....but I did take my leftovers with me, so 2 meals for $62? Ok.“

“We walked out of the Waffle House in Dumfries after sitting for nearly 15 minutes without anyone even offering us coffee. They weren't busy - 5 customers inside and 6 employees on the floor to include the manager, and NO ONE ACKNOWLEDGED US (except the woman who gave us menus).BUT we came to this one in Fredericksburg and hit the jackpot! Our server, Elnora, was super friendly and hospitable. She is like warm sunshine and the cook, Bernard, is stellar! Our food was hot and delicious, and he was kind. We will drive every weekend down to this one because it is worth it!“

“Had a wonderful Easter brunch on the Veranda with my family. We had a reservation right when that section of the restaurant opened, service was very attentive and food came out so quick! They were so accommodating with our toddler and the views were wonderful. We saw multiple trains going by and our daughter loved seeing the geese on the river. Great kids menu, I had the crab cakes and husband had the eggs Benedict. All were piping hot and delicious. We will definitely be back!Kid-friendliness: During reservation they asked about needing a high chair. They had crayons and a coloring page right at the table when we got to it. Cute kids cups and very quick service!“
