“Worth the wait! The cafe opens at 9:00 and when we arrived at 9:30 there was a line out the door. The staff does an incredible job seating people quickly. The staff was delightful and the food was WOW. Large portions and lots of flavor. I personally appreciated the extensive gluten free options, including bread, waffles, and pancakes, that were delicious.Dietary restrictions: A lot of gluten free options including gluten free fried chicken and waffles.“
“We were looking for a great cheese steak sub in the Fredericksburg area and Doc Rocco's did not disappoint. The 7 inch cheese steak was more than enough with plenty of meat. I took off one star because they lack fountain drinks. The inside dining area is quite small so the take out option might be better. But the food is certainly worth the visit.“
“Was in town and stopped by for brunch on a Saturday. It was packed - 35 minute wait, but tables turned efficiently. The girl at reception was very kind and knew we were hungry, rushed us to a table as quickly as possible. Our server was friendly and efficient. The hash browns were cold, not sure if they had been sitting there. Everything else we ordered was delicious.Recommended for a delicious (expect a heart attack) lunch/brunch spot!Easy parking as well since half the strip mall is vacant.“
“I go here all the time and always love going. it is such a lively place, and the waiters are always very nice. the food is always amazing and ones they did mess up my order, but it was a bigger and better burger and even though it was more expensive they still charged the price of the first burger.“
“Outside was clean and had an easy to navigate parking lot. And while bustling, the inside was tidy as well. It was self seating, and the staff quickly greeted us and told us what seats were open. Our server AJ was one of the most helpful, friendly, and enjoyable folks to have during a dining experience. The atmosphere was friendly and bustling, and service was fast and tidy.“
“I took friends here for dinner Sunday evening, and we were quite pleased with our dining experience. The food was delicious, fairly priced, and prepared promptly. The waitstaff were very helpful and professional. This is one of the few places where I feel that the prices are still a fair value for what you buy. Thank you.“
“Lil hidden local shop was sooooo yummy. I want 5 of these croissants to take home! I ordered the lunch salad when they weren’t really prepared for lunch as they were probably still serving brekkie. But he was super quick and nice about it. Def worth it“
“We have visited a few times and Traci H is the best! Great Service and amazing food at a great price. Glad to be back in Fredericksburg after being gone for a few years. This place will not disappoint. 5 plus star all the way around…Barely soup is the best and the wings are crispy and juicy:) Thanks again for wonderful breakfast/Lunch“
“What an amazing experience it was to discover this place. We had a fabulous brunch, and I must say I am not usually a brunch fan. My tofu scramble burrito was genius and my wife's smoked salmon was delicious and accompanied by the expected (capers) and unexpected (Pico d gallo). Cute, cozy, and unassuming interior and attentive, if busy, staff. We will be back!“
“When I think of top notch customer service, I specifically think of the waiters and waitresses at this Longhorn, there is no place better. About a year ago, I had a waiter serve me named Brad, and to this day he is probably the best waiter I've ever had anywhere! Aside from the service, the food is amazing! They have some of the best appetizers and the best bread too. The spicy chicken bites are my favorite appetizer in the world! The atmosphere here is also amazing! I highly recommend!“
“This is a hidden gem! I understand this restaurant has been open for many years. Maybe due to the locality, I’ve overlooked it. But, today I stopped in and was SO pleasantly surprised. The restaurant is meticulously clean and decorated very nicely. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was great! I got the crabcake and flounder platter with yams and asparagus. The only complaint I have… is that I didn’t stop in here sooner! I will definitely be returning to Fish n Grill. Thank you!“
“The only reason this review is 4 stars is because they got rid of their Chorizo Hash.My girlfriend and I love to stop at Foode whenever we drive through Fredericksburg. We’ve been 5 or 6 times in the past year. I always get the Chorizo Hash bowl, but I was so disappointed the last time we went because they no longer serve the Chorizo Hash. I reluctantly got the Chiliquilles instead. The dish was very flavorful in its own right, and it lessened my disappointment somewhat, but I implore Foode to bring back the Chorizo Hash permanently. It was one of the best dishes I’ve ever eaten. In lieu of bringing back the dish, I would love to have the recipe for the tahini sauce.“
“We went out for dinner on a Saturday night. I ordered a sandwich and onion rings and my husband ordered a country fried steak and coleslaw. They accidentally overcooked his steak so they redid it. I wish they had offered him a free dessert for his wait. But the food was tasty and we enjoyed listening to live music.Parking: It was crowded and we got the last spot in their lot.“
“It's OK. What you'd expect from a modern chain-like popular eatery...busy on a Saturday at lunch-time with the usual wait for an indoor booth, no wait for patio, bar or the shared 'community table' high tops.Menu has full range of apps, salads, sandwiches, tacos, steaks and modern taproom food with a specials menu.Buffalo cauliflower app was so salty it was inedible. Nachos were great and we really appreciated allowing us to substitute the pulled pork for grilled chicken. Kids chicken fingers plate had hot, tasty shoe-string fries, but chicken fingers themselves, small and dried-out. Friend liked her fried chicken sandwich and husband liked his sliders. My side-dishes (asparagus, mashed potatoes and sweet potato fries) were good, but mains came to us cold to lukewarm like they had sat too long before delivered to the table.Service was friendly from hostess stand to server, but drinks came slow and visits were spotty. We'd try again if in the immediate vicinity and husband really wanted beer variety, but we'd want to check out other options too.Vegetarian options: Salads and sidesKid-friendliness: They provide coloring sheet, crayons, kid menu.“
“This is the spot! I’m not from the area but ended up finding this gem when I was in the area for work. Not only is the food amazing but so is the staff, absolute service with a smile. I appreciate all food that’s made with love and passion and I was not disappointed with J’Angelas. All of then food was so flavorful and delicious, but I think my favorite were the custard filled plantain desert empanadas ??“
“Party of 7 with a baby were welcomed and well taken care of. Server was fun and helpful. Food was very good, no one was disappointed. Prices were good, better then others near by. The place is small and could get noisy if really busy. Very pleased. Thank you.“
“A quaint spot in downtown Fredericksburg. The menu offers a good range of options. We had the bourbon wings and the pretzel, both tasty options. The cheese sauce for the pretzel was very good. The smoked char taste of the wings, was also very good. The cocktail menu also offers many options. The Congress Hall was a great bourbon cocktail. Try Rebellion, you will be very happy with the results.Vegetarian options: There are some options available to youDietary restrictions: Dietsry restricted items are availableParking: Free street parking can be hard to find at timesKid-friendliness: You can bring the family hereWheelchair accessibility: Accesible for wheelchairs“
“This place I just can't... I mean, this was the absolutely BEST food experience I have had to date!! I booked reservations for my boyfriend's birthday because we enjoy food and wine pairings and I had found this place on the internet and thought it was right up his ally. The ambiance is clean and modern. The food is off the chart. And the service was okay... with the most cordial person being the chef who brought one of our meals out and chatted with us a bit. I would normally enter in to a long drawn out review here, but I am reading others' and they say it best. I will say that the Salmon and Ginger was actually one of the best morsels of food I have ever put in my mouth! And I despise Salmon. LOL“
“Had a great experience thanks to our server Chris he was super polite and extremely knowledgeable about the beers and others around the area he gave great recommendations for or food and was very nice. Highly recommend eating here and having Chris be your server. Thanks Chris!“
“Went for the first time yesterday and felt very welcomed by staff and patrons. I'm not a fan of seltzers, but after I sampled a flight, I had to try the Lemon Cello. It was amazing! Then we tried the Dream Cycle and Lemonade, and they did not disappoint! Tasted more like cocktails than seltzers. Even took some home! Will definitely be back!“
“I thought that this was another chain restaurant. It is anything but that! It’s a restaurant that grew up from an awesome food truck business. The menu is made up of really great sandwiches and dogs. Happy hour is full of average beers, but they have a self serve craft beer wall that hits the spot. I found that my secret to the menu was going with the bartenders suggestion and adding chicken and bacon to the vegetarian mushroom melt sandwich and getting the honey old bay tots. Very satisfying and delicious! We even experimented with a few cocktails. This is a fun place that features live music on occasion. Great find!Vegetarian options: I’m not a vegetarian. I added a protein to a vegetarian sandwich“
“What a great place for nostalgia ... love the retro look with comfort snacks that bring back memories - tots, fries, onion rings, shakes, and root beer floats tasted delicious as we watched the planes land and take off Friendly service added to the great experience. Fun place to take the grand kids!“
“It was our first time there! The food was delicious! The service was good. It was affordable, and the portions were good. The restaurant was beautiful inside! It had a huge fish tank. There were wooden beams, dim lighting, metal accents! It's a good place for a romantic date night or a family night! We'll definitely go back!“
“Went to a local dive bar.I wasn’t sure if I wanted to go to McDonald’s and go home… I do Uber and this place is in the middle of where the Uber trips come from in Fredericksburg.I had dropped somebody off near the area and saw all the cute places, so I circled it about 10 times praying to god on whether I needed a burger or I needed $10 and no burger…I got the best burger I’ve had in years.Absolute banger burger.Swiss cheese, sautéed portobello, grilled red onion, several hefty slices of crispy bacon, beef was excellent quality, exactly as much carbon from the grill as I would want on a grilled burger, on evenly toasted brioche. They made it extra special for me and did fried pickles as the side instead of fries. The flavors, and everything was hot and perfectly crispy. I will be returning there very soon.Whenever an Uber passenger from the VRE asks me “what’s good around here” I will have the answer.“
“Update from a month agoUnfortunately, just like so many other places, there is a lack of consistency when it comes to quality of food, specifically for phone, take out ordersI have ordered this item a couple of times and each time the quality of the food served was less than I expected. The last time the chorizo was greasy, some of the potatoes were cold/hard and shortly after eating this, it upset my stomach; probably the grease.I was not going to return, but decided to try the vegetarian version. Instead of egg whites, the cook decided to do a fried egg. I was not in the mood for sending food back or having to wait for my order to be prepared correctly. This is why I expect my order to be repeated back to me, of which it was, yet my order was still not prepared correctly. My egg whites are always scrambled and there was yellow in the egg indicating that there was yoke and not egg whites.?This lack of consistency eliminates my desire to patronize this establishment...at least for phone, take out orders. ?Initial reviewWas looking for a good brunch with good reviews. This place appeared to be worth a try. Glad that I tried it.?Only street parking available, but able to find parking directly across the street. Unfortunately, only steps and no ramp available to enter. ? Also, the door is very heavy and as soon as you push the door to come in, there is very little room to stand while wanting to be seated because not that big; the door is very heavy to pull to exit. ?Ordered the chorizo hash and dark cocoa biscuit. The chorizo hash was a pleasant suprise and a healthy serving size. Looking forward to ordering that dish again. Would definitely recommend.Did not know what to expect for the biscuit. It was a bit dry, too thick and a little hard on the outside. It was edible, but I was not impressed...$4 for 1 biscuit is ridiculous. ?“
“Service started out great but then we didn't really see anyone until we tried to get the attention for the check. A party of like 12 was sat and that took all the attention. We had a training duo, I could tell the trainer was doing a great job, the host just over sat them.My husband gat a burger and he loves it. I got the fish n chips. It was ok. Outside was over done a bit and the inside was a little under done. French fries on both plates were fantastic. All in all , we will go back. We like the place and it is tough getting help. At least this place was training people and trying.“
“Thanks Adrian for helping me get a nice set of paired options ofr our team to enjoy their PB&J bar as a treat at the end of a long week this week! Pleasantly surprised by the Sweet Thai Chili peanut butter. Always love to support other family owned smalle, local businesses too! Check them out!“
“Such a cute restaurant! Service was amazing, food was delicious and they were very accommodating with the changes I made to my omelette (I have dietary restrictions) They took us in with no wait for a 10 top and everything came out at the same time, super impressed. Great local business!!“
“Was busy, service and food on point. Working my way through the menu, had the bangers and mash this time very good.Music, MarJo Deluxe was great, second time listening to them will come back for more.Over all great food, good atmosphere will return!“
“Went here for a birthday breakfast. Never been here before but felt like family. The food is the best I've ever had in any diner (& I'm old so I've been to many LOL). The bacon was so crisp & the home fries were made to perfection. When I went to pay, I was told somebody picked up our tab & said happy birthday. I was shocked. She said it happens often there. If I lived closer, I'd go there at least once a week.I'm looking forward to going back.“
“My second visit. Had been fasting for doctor appointment so I was very hungry. Fresh hot coffee, sausage gravy on biscuits with two perfect over easy eggs & grits. Relaxing atmosphere, ate it all !! Will be back next time I need some local comfort food. Thanks y'all ?“
“Russ was the sweetest guy in the world ! Gave me advice on how to fix my necklace from turning around lol, gave me a free dessert because of wait times, and recommended/ threw in the jalapeño ranch which was AMAZING. had a big smile on his face the whole time and was so kind to each and every customer. the food was phenomenal, humongous sandwiches that are very reasonably priced, and they tastes amazinggggg. they definitely don't skip on the meat. great options to choose from to build your own. cute little restaurant that has arcade machines to entertain, and very patriotic which is always so so nice to see ! very refreshing. will definitely be supporting this restaurant and can't wait to eat there again.“
“We were early for our reservation. ( i-95 is unpredictable) Seated promptly. Drinks, on point. Appetizers were yum. We especially enjoyed the fried green tomatoes. Great balance. Mains were good. We had pork chop with green beans and fingerling potatoes....the pork chop was definitely a win. Flavor and cooked perfectly, the green beans cooked and seasoned well, but not particularly special. The potatoes were underseasoned, and could've been more crispy. The crab cakes were awesome. Clearly almost no filler! Garlic mash was good, but not outstanding. Creamed spinach was rich as six foot....balanced with the garlic. Overall, yes, we will be back. Amazing service and attention. Don't show without a reservation, and, as clearly stated on the door, no one under 18 yrs of age. Don't show up with an infant carrier.“
“Great restaurant. Recommend this place. Very good food and decent prices. Went in during happy hour so splurged and sampled many menu items. Tried the spicy cheese curds. I really liked them. Didn’t find them to be spicy. Tried the fried pickles and they were good. Really liked the accompanying sauce. Pickles were nice and crisp too. Had the prairie fire burger with bison meat. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Left very full and satisfied.I always drive by and looked at the exterior and knew I wanted to try this place. Finally did and am so glad. Will definitely be back.“
“My review on my first time eating Captain D's restaurantI got the Fish and Fries combo with 2 just puppies to go. The fries, I rate them a 3.4/5.0. It taste like Burger King fries. They were a little hard. If there was a little bit more salt added to the recipe, it would taste better. But overall, they were good. ?? The hush puppies, I rate them a 2.8/5.0. They weren't the best but they taste ok. They smelled like rice which is my least favorite food. If there was a little less seasoning to the hush puppies, they may taste better. Overall, like I said, they were ok.Last but not least, the fish. I rate this fish a 4.7/5.0 It taste delicious. This is probably the crispiest fish I've ever eaten!? At first, in smelled like chicken. ? Crispy skin and great fish inside. Overally, the fish was incredible.????I rate this meal a 3.9/5.0, about a 4/5 stars. Like I said, maybe just a little bit less seasoning on the hush puppies and a little more salt on the fries. This meal was a good dinner.??-Shane“
“Curitiba Art Cafe is my favorite coffee shop in Fredricksburg Va. They serve good coffee and after a certain time they sell alcohol, which is cool. If you ever visit the “burg” as they say check this place out great everything. Just don’t go there before 9am because you will be waiting outside lol!“
“In case you, like me, heard about the bread pudding, yes, it's incredible. Come here and try it. You won't regret it.Anyway, for the real review, I came here for dinner with my friends. It was an incredible meal. I got the beef wellington and, of course, bread pudding for dessert. The beef wellington was a perfect medium rare, as it should be, and was the first time I've eaten a filet mignon in my life and didn't hate it. That's a huge plus! The asparagus that came with it was incredible, too. I know this shouldn't have to be a compliment, but you could taste how fresh both the asparagus and time since it touched the pan (or grill? idk) was.Unfortunately, the mashed potatoes left a lot to be desired. I had my friend taste some, too, just in case, and she confirmed my suspicions: almost tasteless. I had no idea something that interacted with chives could have so little flavor. Thankfully there's table salt available, but I was very disappointed. Mashed potatoes is usually the perfect complement to steak—the Robin to Batman, but in this case I got a filler episode where Robin was on vacation because the actor was busy. One of my friends got the stuffed gouda burger (or something like that), and he enjoyed it, save for a slight lacking of sauce; he said the burger overall was a bit dry, but he made sure to specify that the burger patty was definitely juicy and delicious. His wife ordered the fish & chips (which was my second choice, as it's listed as their signature dish), and she let me try a piece. The fish was incredible, and the tartar sauce, a sauce I normally do not like at all, was perfect for it.In case everybody else hasn't gushed enough about the bread pudding, OMG IT WAS SO GOOD. My only complaint would be that I failed to portion the scoop of ice cream correctly and ran out. That's entirely on me.I gave three stars for atmosphere, and that's mostly preference. I don't like loud areas with a lot of people. Unfortunately, places that serve good food tend to be popular and attract lots of people, especially on a Friday night. This is also entirely on me.What's not on me, though, was the horrible smell of smoke that came up randomly during our dinner. My friends and I suspect somebody got a drink that's served on fire, but we couldn't tell. I saw a little bit of smoke in the air, and it smelled like a bonfire for ten minutes. I did not enjoy that. I don't know if they can accommodate this, but I'll have to remember to ask if there's seating away from the bar area.I 100% intend on returning here some time in the future, and I will update this review with my full thoughts on the fish & chips when I try them at that time.Parking: There is parking available right outside the restaurant, but good luck getting it. Just park a few hundred feet away in the huge mall parking (Macy's, Paragon, etc.) lot and enjoy the outside air for a few extra minutes on your way in.“
