“Stopped on an early Sunday afternoon in November. Both my wife an I ordered the Po'Boy with fried oysters. She had the homemade fresh fries and I paid a dollar extra for the "side salad". Both f us enjoyed the sandwiches that were made with fresh bread and 5 delicious oysters. She enjoyed the fries and I was overwhelmed by the quality and quantity of the sala. My only complaint is that her Coke was $4.50. But then we were in something that resembled a bar. We would both come again when we are in the area,“

“1700 in Newport News is an absolute gem. Stopped in for a flight and left borderline obsessed. Every pour was a winner, the vibe was on point, and the owners? So lovely we almost asked to be adopted— still open to it. This place has heart, style, and seriously good beer. We’ll be back — probably too often.“

“We ate here for lunch on a Monday. Food was good staff was helpful and friendly, very much a teamwork mentality and I love that! The fried pickles were tasty, the shrimp was hearty, and the Devils Backbone Bourbon Apple Cider Smash was served to me in a requested ice cold mug! Hometown pub with a water front view! We had a teenager with us and there was no issue before 10pm!“

“We had a great experience at YROC Coastal Grill. Elli was an amazing waitress—super attentive, friendly, and on top of everything without being overbearing.
I ordered the salmon, and it initially came out a little smaller than expected. Before I even had a chance to say anything (and after I’d already filled up on the pickle fries 😅), the kitchen proactively made an entirely new salmon for me. That level of customer service really stood out—they truly care about quality and guest satisfaction.
Great food, great service, and a team that goes above and beyond. We’ll definitely be back.“

“Really good spot. Very open space and there's a good selection of craft beers. We came when it was a little quiet so wish there was some live music but either way the beers were flowing and they were good. Customer service was spot on from the minute we walked in and very friendly. Saved this place and hope we can return.“

“Every dish was amazing, on point. The soup trio is a must try...the sweet corn was my favorite. Also had the foie gras...perfectly seared and the set complimented beautifully with savory potatoes and sweet maple pearls. The Wagyu Ribeye as my entree made my week. My friend had the Short Ribs and Crab. Brilliant, unique dish. The textures together were perfection! Loved every step of this meal.“

“The chicken wings are great here!!! I love the flavors and the quality of the chicken. The only reason they got 4 stars is the sides are a hit or miss. Sometimes my fries are crispy and perfect and others it’s soggy and over saturated in oil but still piping hot. The location is very clean but service can be better.“

“The best customer service I have ever had from a Chinese restaurant. I ordered the sesame chicken combo and the general tso chef special. The rice tasted as if it had been cooked a couple of hours before I arrived but it was still edible. The saving grace for the food was the meat. The meat for both the combos were tasteful and pleasing to my buds. Enough for me to say, I will be trying this place again and hopefully the rice will be different this time.“

“Visited this restaurant today for the first time. Food was excellent. My husband is a big burger guy and he has now found his favorite burger spot. I had the crab cake sandwich with fries and I can honestly say the chef did not disappoint. Everything was fresh and delicious. We definitely will be back again.“
