“What an awesome, cozy, little restaurant in Rescue, VA. The staff were inviting as we walked in and our server was knowledgeable of the menu. This was our first time here and we brought our twin God Daughters with us. The food was amazing! We had the crab dip which unlike most places, had more than enough dip to go with the pita slices. The calamari was also delicious. Both apps were well seasoned. I had the Admirals Feast for my main and she had the Captains. The coleslaw could have used more dressing but that's my only gripe with the meal. The twins had the Key Lime pie and Brownie Sundae for dessert. The whole experience was just great and well worth the 20 minute drive. Will be returning here again in the future! This place is a hidden gem.“

“Food - amazing. Atmosphere- excellent. Service - Our waiter’s name was Chris. He was awesome; kind, very very helpful. Never encountered a waiter like him. He served approximately 16 people in our party. He should be considered an asset to your establishment. Excellent service is important when choosing a restaurant. “We stopped in tonight for the first time and loved every morsel. The young man and lady working the counter were both very polite and knowledgeable. They explained our options and walked us through everything. They then set to work preparing our orders. Sooooo delectable!“

“Good brews, and good entertainment. They had unique flavors on tap during the fall time including a few sours and a hard kombucha. The kombucha packs a powerful punch and almost tastes like apple cider vinegar, but it grows on you. They had a live singer and was worth seeing all the kids rock out to her.Dog friendly place with a taco (food) truck outside for a quick bit.“

“We absolutely love summerwind! We went on a rainy day and still had a great experience. The staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable on their different wines. Our favorite was their sangria that they home make using different fruits each week. The environment is great and we would love to go on a sunny day - they have outdoor picnic tables and cornhole. We also got a bread board which isn't pictured but was great!“

“1700 has a wide range of beers that vary from light to dark and include sours, lemonade, and slushies. This is a wonderful, local brewery with a “Cheers” feel where everyone knows your name. Wonderful staff with a rotation of food trucks.“

“We wanted to surprise our design specialist for her birthday yesterday. Hitch: she has Celiac's so gluten-free was an absolute must. My husband typed in "gluten-free cupcakes near me" on his phone and found Indulge. A pleasant voice on the phone said they had a gluten-free carrot "muffin" (later, looking at the menu, I saw that it was also "vegan"). We were able to pick up a dozen. She was so surprised. Ate one myself: unbelievably moist and flavorful, great mouth feel, heavenly cream cheese icing (which I doubt was vegan, but I'm sure that you could pre-order without). I can't wait to check out the rest of their menu!“

“We liked the Metro Diner so much we went for dinner on Friday night and Saturday morning when we checked out of the hotel. Friday night was their fried fish plate special. We both ordered the fish plate. The fish was not heavily battered and the fries were hit and crisp. My husband had the salad which unfortunately he had to go through because of some bad leaves of lettuce and I had the loaded potato soup which was thick and tasty for our starters. The next day we both ordered their classic breakfast of eggs, bacon, grits, toast and pancakes. If we travel in this area again, we will definitely come back. For both meals are servers were very nice.“

“Incredible place to host an event, especially for military affiliations. We had my retirement party here, and they were astoundingly accommodating. They made sure we had everything we needed, their service was great, and I can't think of what could have been better. Most any other place would have overcharged and undelivered by comparison. “One of our favorite places to dine in the downtown area. The food is amazing, especially enjoy the veggie burgers and Brussels sprouts made with Smithfield bacon. Great place for lunch and shopping in Smithfield area. The little shop has some great selections for taking home some snacks or as gifts for visitors to the area. Highly recommended.“

I tend to take a dim view of praises for onion rings; however, presently I am sitting on their back patio with their rings and a beverage. “Cute little spot for brunch. The customer service was great and they were on top of everything even with being busy. The kitchen was super swamped so the food took a bit to come out, but it didn’t matter, it was so good when we did get it and it tasted like they had just made it. Highly recommend!“
