“I have wanted to partake in dining at this restaurant and the food looked delish. My experience met my expectations after I had pork belly, blackened catfish and mashed potatoes. I wanted to order the collards but not with tomatoes. I have eaten collards all over the South and have not seen tomatoes..Yikes!!!

The pork belly was tasty but smothered in BBQ sauce which the manager noticed so wasn't happy. My server, Hannah was friendly and helpful with her input.

My biggest negative was the 20% gratuity automatically added to the bill. There's another breakfast gem in RVA which also does the 20% so not a big fan. If the service is good, it's not an issue but when it is subpar, it's not fair to the customer imo.

I am on the fence about a return visit when I will probably return in February.“

“I stumbled across this place when I was here for a work trip. I went home and told my husband, I HAVE to come back. Just like others say, it’s intimate, amazing and attentive staff, and the music creates an awesome vibe. My husband brought me back for my birthday/anniversary and one of the owners sang happy birthday to me and another person! My review can’t describe the feeling I had listening to the music, with my delicious drink, and I LOVE LOVE LOVE the seafood salad.“

“Great vibe. Fun lights and seating. Its a bit expensive to get a buzz of sorts going but i like that its a good alternative to alcohol. Made me feel kinda silly and cozy. Tasty mocktails. I probably needed 3/4 of a bottle to feel it which is ~ $30“

“We came to Revel with friends who are regulars. Revel is their new go to place and I can see why. Revel is relaxed with friendly staff and great small plates, my favorite. Every dish we had was expertly prepared. Pork empanadas, grilled broccolini, scallops, a spinach salad. To pick a favorite is tough because every plate was really good. We will definitely be back!“

“We came on a Saturday night for dinner. It was a bit unclear if you were to seat yourself or not, and the service was a bit slow due to how busy the bar was since a live band was starting soon. However, our experience overall was excellent.The biscuit is probably the best biscuit I've had at a restaurant, ever. Absolutely recommend. We tried three flavors of wings and all thought the gochujang was the most outstanding. The pinto beans, pickles, slaw, and chicken quesadilla were all flavorful and solid. We loved everything we tried.“

“Visiting VA & was trying to find a nice chill bar to have drinks. We ended up here—atmosphere is very dim/jungle themed, played alternative/disco music at a moderate volume, drinks were also great as well as the service! We had the Espresso Martini and Mental Gymnastics. I highly recommend if you are trying to find a hidden gem bar. Parking can be hard to find but we found street parking and walked over to the bar.“

“I will turn 75 years old on Monday, Dec. 21, 2020. All I want for my birthday is some of the delicious pub grub from The Cask Cafe, and a growler or two of selections from the world’s (and Richmond’s) greatest brews. Unfortunately, this will be via touch-free curbside pickup. I’d much rather sit at the bar and chat about the role of diacetyl in English pub bitters, or the varieties of Bohemian or Moravian hops available in commercial Czech lagers...but not this year. “We had a small wedding reception at OCB and while I would recommend it as a venue, I’d also recommend writing down exact details of what you want the event to go like. I don’t know if we ended up with inexperienced staff or just an odd night, but nothing really went like it should have. We were told two bartenders but there was only one, they didn’t seem to know when to bring out the food even though we said it was an open buffet, we asked them to serve slices of a cake from the back and instead they just placed it on a tray in the front and our guests had to slice and serve themselves. Every time we met with Bill he reassured us they’d done so many events and wedding there that they had it down pat, but it definitely didn’t seem like they did. On the whole, I’m still glad we had our reception there. The venue is awesome and the food is amazing! I’ve always heard great things about people using them as catering at other venues.“

“Food was average at best. Out of everything including a cook. Actually closed the kitchen for about 30 minutes because cook was at end of shift and no one there to replace him. They are listed as a Priority Pass discounted restaurant and when asked, they looked at me like I was crazy. No clue.“

“This restaurant keeps getting better and better. The scallop crudo was inventive and delicious. I asked the server if the yuzu could be left out (medication issue) and was pleasantly surprised that the chef could substitute lime. The mussels in coconut broth were delicious and I appreciated that the bread that came with it was grilled on a wood fire lending it a smoky flavor. Service was attentive and accommodating. Noise level was fine for conversation.“

“My husband asked the bartender/head mixologist, Steve Yang, for a gin based dealer's choice and he made the most wonderful drink I've had in a long time. He called it "Some kind of wonderful" it had dill, yogurt, and some other stuff and tasted like some hard to find European candy. Awesome!“

The star of my meal were the pork tacos , the marinade was amazing! The side of plantains had some sea salt and were cooked to perfection , I like the ends a little burnt !
What made the atmosphere was our incredible waitress ALONDRA. She was very pleasant , answered all our questions , and she had a deep knowledge of the menu which helped us decide what to order. “After this place has been on “RVA Restaurants to Try” list for about 3 years, this was our first time eating at Fat Dragon, but it certainly not be our last! The wonton soup was the best my mother has ever tasted…keep in mind, she’s traveled all over the world. The ginger dressing was so delicious, I asked the server if they sold it in bottles. The garlic chicken and basil beef were both so tender and flavorful, I would highly recommend them both. And last but not least, our server was great! Do not wait to try this place like I did!!!!
