“It feels weird to review the wheelhouse because it's such a cornerstone of the culture here. If you've been on base, someone has probably invited you to the wheelhouse - and for good reason. Inexpensive and delicious all-american fare with friendly fast service. Can't go wrong.“

“Seems like the place changed names but their menu still showed this name, the food was pretty good but nothing too spectacular. I do highly recommend the pound cake, it was delicious, they were out of avocado for one of our burgers but the waitress was amazing and went above and beyond to make up for it. Just for that alone I recommend this place.“

“The barrel is an absolute awesome place where you can have a great time with a great crowd. The bands are amazing The bartenders are awesome and the atmosphere is untouchable. Really a great place to just have a great time. Highly recommend for anyone who needs to get out. The wife and I really enjoyed ourselves and would definitely go back!!!!“

“The food was absolutely divine! Im so glad we decided to try them out. The service was very fast, the waiter was excellent, and the atmosphere was warm, trendy, and exciting. The Jumbo Sea scallops were the biggest I've seen. My husband said it was the best steak hes had, and trust me, he eats a lot of steak! Oyster Rockefeller was mouth watering and the seasoning used on the broccolini was a different taste but very good! They definitely have some awesome cooks here!!“

“Staff was very welcoming on this day 8/6/2025 around 12noon our first time in this part of Virginia from New York City and the welcoming service along with food was amazing. Will definitely recommend this. Location and we will try to have breakfast here once more before leaving this weekend to go back North.“

“We recently attended the Jackson concert at Rivers Casino in Portsmouth, Virginia, and purchased seats in Right Row D, Despite being three rows from the front and on the right, these seats provided an obstructed view that severely hindered our ability to see the show. NO SCREENS, just a Black Curtin, for the price we paid, this was incredibly disappointing. It's clear that these seats should have been sold at a much lower price, considering the poor visibility. We even have pictures to support our experience, which show the obstructed view from our seats. Rivers Casino should be ashamed of themselves for selling these tickets at such a high price without warning customers about the view obstruction. We expected much better and hope they address this issue for future events.“
