“This place has a great atmosphere and the staff is wonderful. We were just driving through Richmond and decided to stop here for a bite. My husband had the brisket sandwich which he said was fantastic. I had the trainwrek that was so large and outstanding I couldn’t finish it and have leftovers. The food is fresh and has exquisite flavor! If I’m ever in Richmond again I will be returning.“

“We came on Friday night for jazz. The performer was WONDERFUL....her voice was silky and sultry and reminded me of Samara Joy! We ordered appetizers, which were all good. However, I was expecting the fried pickles to be cut like chips versus steak fries. Our server, Enjhonae, was absolutely amazing. She was very attentive and extremely pleasant!! Overall, it was a great way to spend a Friday night and we will definitely do it again!!“

“My friends and I had a fantastic time indulging in multiple rounds of Lemon Drop Martinis, along with delicious appetizers like cornbread and wings, followed by a delightful dinner. Our server was exceptional, making the evening even more special as we celebrated my friend's birthday. To our surprise, they treated my friend to a complimentary glass of Prosecco adorned with a birthday candle. We couldn't resist sharing our entrees, which included smoked brisket meatballs, pan-roasted shrimp, and fried catfish, all of which were incredibly tasty. The portions were generous enough for sharing, and the fried catfish was simply the best we've ever tasted, prompting us to order some to take home. I wholeheartedly recommend this place for a cozy evening with friends or family!“

“We sat at the bar with server and bartender, Austin. He made our entire experience truly outstanding. Beautiful restaurant with beautiful people working there. Everyone was courteous, kind and friendly. The food was exceptional, especially the chestnut bisque, I would come in for by itself. I ordered the catch of the day, which came with mussels. After a past experience with having a bad mussel at another restaurant, I was both leery and reluctant to try them. The beautiful server with dark hair and glasses reassured me, they were fresh and I would not have any problems. She was correct, the dish with rockfish was outstanding. Now, back to Austin. He was such a great guy, funny, engaging, and absolutely everything. I highly recommend L'Opossum and make your reservation for the bar. You'll have an opportunity to interact with the entire staff at some point. They all will take very good care of you. Bon Appetit!“

“We had to wait a few minutes to be seated, which is understandable since it was a holiday, but I did have to call the front desk to get someone to come to the entrance and assist us.

The menu is fairly small, and vegetarian options are quite limited. That said, the food was a pleasant surprise. Despite the limited menu, everything was well executed. The chicken burger was generously portioned, juicy, and flavorful, and it was clear they weren’t using old oil. The fries were perfectly cooked, crispy, and not greasy.

The atmosphere is casual yet sophisticated, and during our visit it was calm and relaxed.

Overall, the value is worth it, and based on this experience, I would definitely come back.“

“WOW WOW WOW. I have stumbled upon the BEST barbecue I have ever had. I enjoyed the ribs, pulled pork, Christmas beans, and smash & cheese (5 cheese) macaroni and cheese. Princess enjoyed the brisket. The meats were smoked to perfection. The sides were out of this world. The relish and sauces were superb. For my birthday they gave me a cupcake and hot off the smoker pork belly. The atmosphere was casual and relaxing. Soul music was playing as me enjoyed my birthday lunch. The staff was outstanding ... so friendly. I felt like I was eating with family. This is now my go to place for barbecue. Give it a try ... you will not be disappointed.“

“Definitely 5 stars! Me and my daughter went for brunch, a pitcher of Mimosas and the best breakfast I've ever had. My daughter ordered the biscuits and gravy. They were so good, almost like a she-crab bisque flavor gravy-absolutely wonderful. I ordered the chicken biscuit, was also wonderful, the hot honey with the fresh homemade Bisquit was so flavorful. No wait to be seated, the waitstaff was very friendly. Definitely recommend and definitely will go back!“
