“I have been a patron of this establishment for over 30 years and in all that time I have never been asked to pay a gratuity fee. I have had birthday parties , baby showers and rehearsal dinner. I realize there was six in my party. Paying by two different checks. The owner whom my kids played with growing up tells me its on the menu that the its up to the server degression to use it or not. “We ate at the Mechanicsville location on our way home from out of state. I always order a chimichanga every time I have Mexican, which is often. I ordered one today with ground beef. When it was brought out to me it looked like a taquito ( a 1/3 of the size). A manager came over and was not happy when I told him that. He said that was their normal size chimi’s. To top it all off when I took my first bite It was shredded beef instead of ground beef. I put do NOT RECOMMEND and do not know what happened and now I cannot change it!!!!!!’“

The cook said have a seat it’s no problem. So we sat ate some good ass good and made sure the cooks were tipped appropriately.“

“We live and work in the Brookland Park Neighborhood and love BPK's accessibility, friendly atmosphere, well balanced menu and service. Not only have we dining multiple times, recently I was in a pinch for a cocktail party and found relief. “First off my Wife cannot eat anything with dairy and our Waiter had the cook put something together for her to eat??THANK YOU?? the dish not only looked like a painting but it was delicious.
I got the dish with the drizzle of dressing on it and a Corona Beer with lime.
From the pictures hopefully you can see we scoffed down the entire meal. Total Bill just $43 Bucks. Between the food quality and the ambiance of sitting outside along the water way it all just seemed too surreal. We were just visiting this Great State and actually walked back to our hotel feeling a little light footed and smiled at each other that we found a little diamond in the ruff in downtown Virginia. I didn't see anywhere to park. Perhaps park your car opposite the highway feed the meter and walk down.

I recommend an evening for Lunch or Dinner and of course tell them THE GURU sent you. Enjoy?

“We went to Grisette based on the reviews here and as hard it is to believe, Grisette lived up to the billing. Service was excellent, knowledgable, personable, and well timed. We had a dealer's choice prepared for us and it was excellent, we continued to drink rounds of them throughout our meal, a precise balance of fruity, tart, and gently bitter through the finale. The smorgasbord was delicious, we chose our own assortment, but it was totally enlivened by the accompanying pickles and fruit, and the bread, which was spectacular. I could have made a meal out of the bread and butter alone. We wwent steak heavy for dinner, though my wife had a duck breast, which she loved. We ordered both the steak upgrade, which was a dry aged strip steak when we were there, as well as the denver steak which is the standard steak frittes here. The strip was definitely worth the upgrade, a very nice piece of meat, properly cooked and accompanied by deliciously crisp and potatoey fries. The denver steak was fine, a smaller portion which would be better suited for a midweek meal for me, but not as succulent as the strip. Desserts are few, well executed profiteroles as well as a chocolate flan on ths night which more closely resembled a chocolate mousse cake, so rich, silken, and accompanied by scotch poached pears which would have made for a might fine dessert on there own if accompanied by some gently spiced vanilla alced ice cream. With all the drinks and upgrade steaks it was not an inexpensive evening, though one can certainly eat here on a budget. Even though it turned out to be pricier than expected the value proposition here is terrific, you get great food for your money. I hate to join the chorus and heap glowing praise on here, but if you can try it you should. Grisette should have. michelin star, it does what it does exceptionally well and with a sense of pride and passion. We ate on the patio, which we loved, but that's the only reason for the 4 star review for atmosphere which will bring down the score a hair perhaps, not going to keep us from returning though!“
