“I have been a patron of this establishment for over 30 years and in all that time I have never been asked to pay a gratuity fee. I have had birthday parties , baby showers and rehearsal dinner. I realize there was six in my party. Paying by two different checks. The owner whom my kids played with growing up tells me its on the menu that the its up to the server degression to use it or not. “We ate at the Mechanicsville location on our way home from out of state. I always order a chimichanga every time I have Mexican, which is often. I ordered one today with ground beef. When it was brought out to me it looked like a taquito ( a 1/3 of the size). A manager came over and was not happy when I told him that. He said that was their normal size chimi’s. To top it all off when I took my first bite It was shredded beef instead of ground beef. I put do NOT RECOMMEND and do not know what happened and now I cannot change it!!!!!!’“

“I haven't been to L'Opossum just yet for dinner but I had the opportunity to go for drinks last Thursday and they were delicious. I ordered an old fashioned and my friend ordered a drink that was not on the menu but our bartender, Jonathan, made sure it make it happen. Jonathan was sooooo nice and welcoming and his drinks were really well done.
Decor was amazing and the manager and hostess were also very kind and accommodating.

“We live and work in the Brookland Park Neighborhood and love BPK's accessibility, friendly atmosphere, well balanced menu and service. Not only have we dining multiple times, recently I was in a pinch for a cocktail party and found relief. At the very last minute I was able to place a catering order for three signature dishes and they were all crowd favorites! If you live in the neighborhood do yourself a favor and check them out. It's the place to bring your out of town guests and impress them with our neighborhoods offerings!“

The star of my meal were the pork tacos , the marinade was amazing! The side of plantains had some sea salt and were cooked to perfection , I like the ends a little burnt !
What made the atmosphere was our incredible waitress ALONDRA. She was very pleasant , answered all our questions , and she had a deep knowledge of the menu which helped us decide what to order. “We had a pretty big party for the small building on New Year’s Eve, we have gone to big chain restaurants every year on New Year’s Eve for my sisters birthday and it was always terrible service. Everyone’s food would come out cold, they would make portions smaller cause a lot of us order the same, I want to definitely give you guys a HUGGGGE shoutout, everyone was HAPPY everyone’s food was perfect and hot and the server was awesome. “We've been going to Piri Piri for years now, ever since my mom moved in nearby. The staff are so kind and always smiling. Whenever we dine in, they always make us feel welcome.

We honestly have no idea what everything else on the menu is like, because we always get the half chicken with beans, rice and pico, and the delicious jalapeño corn muffins. The chicken is always super tender; the sauce they cover it with is so delicious; the skin is always the perfect amount of cooked and packed with flavor. They have a very spicy sauce that my partner loves, and I always get the orange sauce. There are others!

The drink selection is quite good, with a ton of variety. They even had the seriously-rare grapefruit Jarritos the last time I was there. It's my favorite, but for some reason nobody ever has it!
