“I ordered 15 pizzas for take out. When I went to pick them up, I was greeted by friendly employees who treated me like I was their family. True Italian hospitality. Excellent customer service and tasty pizza! I rarely leave any reviews, but I had to for this restaurant.“

“4⭐️I have wanted to try UNO’s, but not for the deep dish. My husband had a random craving for deep dish pizza, I want to say I’ve had it before but I don’t remember being a huge fan of it. So we decided to give it a go. We got the Numero Uno deep dish and it was … it was exactly what my husband wanted lol. I am just not a huge fan of deep dish pizza. He loved it, he gave the pizza 4.6⭐️ me personally, I want to try other things on their menu. I gave them 4⭐️ because if you’re a fan of deep dish then I think you’ll enjoy their deep dish. The service was amazing though. So I definitely want to go back, and I highly recommend to anyone in the area.“

“Hands down best pizza on the peninsula- we were weekly regulars at another local spot but now we make the drive from the south end of Hampton to north Newport News to pick it up at least every other week+. For what it’s worth, my tiny grandmother, who grew up in Queens and traveled from Long Island to visit with us for this past holiday, ate half of one of these huge pizzas. And she never eats anything. All that being said, I must admit, the quality has somewhat declined over the past several months. The customer service has not felt… overly accommodating. But we really weren’t concerned with that as much as our order being accurate and the pizza being fresh and delicious. Going forward, (and as advice to anyone who reads these reviews) I absolutely would not pay for “extra” anything on your pizza because you just will not get it. I thought/hoped that this was a one-off issue, or that it was simply a matter of a new cook working, etc.. but after our last three orders having discrepancies, and paying $80+ for two pizzas and garlic knots, I am having a hard time justifying the price, delicious as it is.I will order and make the drive at-least a time or two again and earnestly hope that Pizza Sam perseveres and becomes a mainstay on the peninsula ❤️“

“Each time I go, everyone is so friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere is fantastic! The best seating is outdoors, and if the weather gets chilly, there is a basket of blankets inside that you can borrow from to keep you cozy. It's like going to your best friend's house and spending the day out back with good games, great food, and the best company! I highly recommend stopping in!“

“It was Easter. My husband and my parents wanted to take my little sister on an Easter egg hunt, but plans quickly changed after the venue of the hunt was moved. My sister typically likes to have pizza when she comes into town and a lot of restaurants were closed. Mellow mushroom is open until 10 that day and it was a great decision.Our food was wonderful. I got the buffalo chicken dip and my husband got a California Club. He also got an Angry Orchard as a drink and he said it was nice and cold- very refreshing!My mother treated us so we do not have a total. But the Buffalo Chicken dip was around $12/$13 and the California Club was around $11/$12. Drinks were $3.50. And the Angry Orchard price wasn’t listed. So I’m not sure on that.In the summer is perfect because they have cornhole outside while you wait on your food, or even if you come to grab drinks!Overall, food was great and came quickly to the table. “We stopped in for lunch today. Kristina was our waitress and she was terrific. We are not from the area but she made us feel so welcome. The food was DELICIOUS and the value for what we paid was incredible. We told her we were in town for a college tour. She told us about the area and gave us some great info. “We originally tried to eat at another pizza spot, but that was a fail. So my Brother searched and found this place. I am so glad that the other spot was unavailable!!! "Selena y Los Dinos", as I kept calling it, was the perfect spot! We ordered Garlic knots, Breadsticks, calamari, 2 large pizzas, 2 BLTs, and drinks. The Garlic knots (about 18 knots) and Breadsticks (about 16 sticks)...so freaking delicious !!! We had a party of 6 and they were gone in about 4 minutes! We blinked and my son had sneaked the last breadstick I think I ate 3 or 4 (don't judge me) and whatever dough they make must be made with some anointed water or something because the breadsticks and knots didn't hurt our stomachs or make us feel bloated. I don't know what it was, but I was sold after that! I am unsure if they make their own sauce, but that jank was good and light. It wasn't as acidic as some other places which is good for me because I get muscle spasms easily. Next up...The Pizzas and BLTs Pizzas: Great size and great amount of toppings. What was amazing is that the Pizzas weren't greasy from the meats. The bottom part of the crust was phenomenal. Just the right crispness and tenderness! The edge of the crust has that Neapolitan type crust (I guess ). It was wavy, a little crisp, and tender on the inside. I was eating and falling in love at the same time. BLTs: my nephew and son ate these. The best was soft and fresh. Subs were full and full of flavor. My son ate all of his. Alfred, our waiter, was a calm and kind soul. He listened more than he spoke. He took our orders well and was respectful. Oh, by the way, the drinks were HUGE! Whoever got those cups was smart. Cause I didn't need one refill. THE BEST PART: While we were checking out, Heath and another man (I believe the owner/manager...he made me so happy I forgot to ask his name), were so nice!!! I told them that we were celebrating my birthday and the alleged manager gifted me with a bomb-ass cheesecake! I was so happy, I demanded a hug! He was genuine and generous! I love people like that! Our total bill was +/-$96... that's a good price for 6 people. To top everything off... all the cooks were nice eye candy Who doesn't like a cook that's easy on the eyes *I didn't review the calamari because I didn't eat any, but it was all gone and no complaints, so I guess it was good. We will be back“

I ordered delivery for a reason to be delivered to my door. if you can’t do that you should not be doing delivery. I had to stop working to go downstairs and get my food because the driver said he could not walk up the stairs. “Vancostas gives me a diner vibe. The restaurant has been around a while so it explains some of the dated decor. The decor had no affect on my food or the service provided to me because both were great!Heather was our waitress and she made sure to make our first experience an awesome one! I ordered the French toast breakfast which came with a side (I got bacon) and 2 eggs (mine were scrambled with cheese). My husband ordered steak & eggs and an extra order of toast. The crust looked funnny, similar to the crust used in Lou Malnatti’s deep dish but it was soft. I would have liked it to have been crispy. The cheese was very good as well and the sauce was good.The same thing happened to the wings. “First time trying Vinny's Pizza! Hands down some of the best pizza in Newport News, and most of the 757. It may seem like your typical re-heat NY style pizza joint, however, the ingredients, the taste, and the texture is absolutely on point when ordered fresh/on the spot. Ingredients taste fresh and baked with the perfect amount of doneness and oven char, the bottom of the pizza and crust have the perfect amount of crispiness and bite to it. All around the pizza is crispy, chewy, and soft in all the right places. The tomato sauce has the right balance of tanginess and sweetness... It's a dang good pie!“

“This is a great late night spot. I was a part of a party of 20 folks and they happily accommodated us. The service was excellent. Orders were correct and food was delivered in a timely fashion. “My grandmother takes my children and I here when we visit some days. Everything is home made. Bread is amazing. Staff is friendly, patient and very kind. If you're near the Phoebus area of Hampton check them out! Salads are HUGE and delicious! Pizza is huge and flavorful and you HAVE to get the garlic knots.Kid-friendliness: They love children there. My children are 4 and 5 so if they are older I'd say yes!“

“Ordered here for the first time and I am blown away. I got the XL cheese pizza and a small order of the cheese bread sticks for about 15 bucks after tax. Pizza is pretty damn good for 7 dollars. Nice and hot and the sauce it’s excellent. Miles ahead any cheap fast food pizza. Took me about 10 minutes to order and get my food. The person who took my order who I assume is the owner was extremely nice and welcoming. If you want pizza for cheap that isn’t fast food and actually tastes good, I highly recommend $5 pizza!“

The New Yorker sandwich and the cheese tortellini were to die for.Our waitress was so friendly and helpful. The cheese pull was top tier. We order a supreme stuff pizza. I think they could have added more veggies. There wasn’t much veggies or meat. “I would've given 5 stars, but 4 is more reasonable. Came in to get food for pickup. When we pull up, lobby is BARE! 1 folding chair and that's it. We ordered our food, lady was nice about it. Food is reasonably priced. Fiance ordered a pizza with ham, black olive, pepperoni. Instead of black olive, he got mushroom. He called the restaurant to fix it. Since it was a pickup, they wanted us to come back to pick it up. Mind you, we live about 6 miles away. So instead, we got a $15 store credit. We will come back as it is good. “The food was really good and the bartender was super friendly. But the thing that really stood out and will definitely keep us coming back was the DJ!!! Dude was super enthusiastic and energetic the whole time we were there. Played some of our favorites from the 80’s and 90’s plush threw in some country and some newer pop. Dude definitely knew how to read the room. He was super cute too! We will definitely be back. May come on a Thursday night next time. Apparently they have karaoke then and the super cute DJ will be there hosting. Two thumbs way up!!!!“
