“We ordered takeout. Cheese pizza and pepperoni pizza. And don’t forget the wings. First impression was unimpressive. The crust looked funnny, similar to the crust used in Lou Malnatti’s deep dish but it was soft. I would have liked it to have been crispy. Actually, it was the next day when I heated it up in the toaster oven. While I was thrown off by the different crust? I actually really liked it. It had a nice texture and flavor. The cheese was very good as well and the sauce was good.The same thing happened to the wings. I was told they were breaded and deep fried and they weren’t tossed in any sauce; the only sauce options were Blue Cheese and Ranch—dipping sauces. Not my usual preference but I thought I’d give it a shot. Surprisingly the wings were quite good. They were massive, like the chickens were taking ‘roids or something.It was better than I thought it would be and it tasted better than it looked. Look forward to trying the sandwiches next.“

“I shared a photo of empty plates because my sons and I absolutely enjoyed this dining experience! Rhianna was our hostess and was phenomenal! My preteen sons indicated that she was a 10 out of 10 as well as the food that we ate clearly, lol! We will be back!

Kid-friendliness: I like to take my sons out for wholesome dining experiences. This was a kid friendly atmosphere with large televisions that age-appropriate and interesting channels, such as animal channel as well as the news. Everyone that entered the doors were friendly as well as surrounding tables that had families that were enjoying their meals as well!“

“The wife wanted to try a new place for pizza and we found NY Kings Deli on the internet. We ordered 2 20 inch pizzas (1 extra cheese and 1 pepperoni, sausage, and black olives) and it was the best pizza I've had in forever. Everyone working at the restaurant were awesome and friendly. So much so that 2 hours later I was back to pick up dessert. Would eat here for lunch every day if I worked closer. Absolutely amazing!“

“We were on vacation and wanted to try some local places. We stumbled onto this place and it was a great decision. Even our picky teen loved it. The pizza is one of the best I have ever had. The food sizes are big and delicious! The prices are very good to and worth every penny. I highly recommend this place. Our group have the fried mozzarella, chicken wings, 2 pizzas, chicken parmigiana, tortellini and it was all so good. The service was also quick and our cups were never empty.

“By the slice pizza joints are few and far between in the peninsula. Sals has an interesting process that allows for quick turnaround prepared hot. Their double bake method yields a crust that is pleasantly crispy even though it developes some moisture overtime on top the slice - a symptom of their process I believe. Their pizza is beyond serviceable and that's what you want from a quick and cheap lunch. I frequent Sals whenever I have an itch for some pizza but am not interested in packing away an entire box at $20+ a hit. Don't expect this to be a mindblowing slice, but you can expect it to be consistently satisfying.

If I had to give a note, I would recommend a restrained hand on certain ingredients. While the generosity on the toppings is certainly welcomed and appreciated, some ingredients like onions, unless expressedly requested, don't require the same amount of volume to make an impact and could overwhelm the entire bite. I would say to simply dial back on the aromatics, but everything else is excellent.

Service is quick and without pretense, making it comfortably casual and the proprietors seem to be upstanding.

I would classify the interior as functional. If you have to eat in their establishment, it's perfectly fine for that, although I prefer to eat my pizza after it's been rested for just about 5 minutes, so I might as well just take it to go.

“This is literally the only Pizza Hut in Newport News that I would go to! The rest of them I have no clue why they're so nasty or the food tastes gross... But this Pizza Hut is literally the only Pizza Hut that cooks the orders right... And they are nice and the food is always fresh and delicious. I have eaten pizza at various locations throughout the globe…even Naples, Italy. I have lived in the Yorktown / Hampton area for almost three years. Like many, I’m particular about my pizza. Recently, I discovered Ricco’s pizza in Hampton. I don’t work there, I don’t know anyone that works there. I’m just a customer with nothing to gain except pizza how it should be made. I have ordered from many Italian restaurants and pizza businesses in the 757 area. Hands down, Ricco’s beats them all in quality, taste and service. Feel free to respond if you object but this is and will be the only place I order pizza from going forward. I will try the in house experience soon and posts on that. Truly, if you don’t like the menu from Ricco’s…you probably don’t know what good pizza tastes like but to each their own.“

Their attitude and behaviors portray they want to be there and to help you. We've all been in places where the staff clearly doesn't want to be there and even that you're bothering them with your presence. I don't get that in this place which is why I'll keep returning.“

“Delicious Baked Ziti. They did a wonderful job on it. It was busy but I got a salad with the wrong dressing and it was a while until I got the dressing corrected. I had to ask twice. They were very nice and I'm sure this won't be a typical problem. Next time I'm going to order the garlic knots!?
