“When I visited Chicago as a child, I remember trying Chicago style pizza there several times with the family. It was . . . different. You see, I'm from St. Louis just four hours away and was tied to thin crust, like cracker thin--which I still very much love. But that Chicago pizza had such a weird texture and what not. Flashforward to today and 1,400 miles to the east, I moved to Norfolk for a job almost twenty years ago, and um. I don't know if my taste buds changed, or if this place just knows how to do it the way it should be, but that place in Chicago has nothing on this. I scoffed at first at the price, that is until I tried it at the urging of a co-worker and each slice is like a whole meal. The texture, the taste, the crust. Perfection. I never though I was a deep dish fan of any kind until Del Vecchios showed me how it is supposed to be done. Add to that the comradery of the staff and the personal nature of the wait-staff. Del Vecchios is among the best pizza I've had, bar none. They are proof of the advantages of venturing outside the safe mediocre comfort of chains and trying the smaller mom and pop tried and true places because now that I've had it, I don't want Chicago style pizza from anyone else, even in Chicago.“

“I showed up right at closing time, and instead of turning me away or making me feel rushed, the staff at Mike’s Pizza were incredibly nice and still made me exactly what I wanted. That kind of customer service is hard to find. The food was great, the service was even better, and I really appreciated how welcoming they were even at the end of the night. I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending them to others.“

“Attended the wine dinner last evening and was underwhelmed. I had called to ask if they would accommodate dietary requests such as vegetarian/pescatarian and was told no however last evening they had several people that they accomadated for dietary requests. It was disappointing to learn that too late. It was a rainy cold evening and the seating for the event was in their inclosed outside seating area. Throughout the evening you got burst of cold air in spite of the heaters it was cold. Going into the colder months I definitely would not attend if they don’t change the location of the dinner in their restaurant. The food and wine were good but nothing overly impressive. The last wine was Federalist which is a very inexpensive everyday wine that you can get at total wine for under $20. I guess I was expecting more from the wine dinner which is why I say I was underwhelmed.“

“This is my 2nd time ordering from this location and the service has been spectacular. The gentleman in the front brought my order to the car(doom scrolling and lost track of the time). Overall completely satisfied. Wish I had pictures but the slices barely made it to the counter.“

“Some of the best pizza I’ve had in Norfolk! And the service is incredible, they are so nice. Apparently I messed up my order when I ordered online because I wanted half cheese but they still helped me out and gave me a discount on another pizza and even through in some cheesey bread for me, even though it was my mistake. This is my new favorite pizza place!“

“First time here , you just can’t go wrong when you can build your own pizza, this was just pepperoni, with Sausage and pineapple which all 3 toppings goes so well together. Firebake crust gave it a crispy texture. This was a great place to stop by for lunch, definitely coming back.“

“I just went to pick up food for the family and walked into the most beautiful controlled chaos I've ever seen on American soil! The staff was excellent and coordinated with how they greeted us while handling several tasks and communicating with each other to prepare the orders. “Wow I was sitting here in Ghana Africa and a thaught came to me. I asked my wife what was the name of that sub place we use to always order from when I was stationed in Norfolk. I was stationed at NOB on the USS Iwo Jima in 1992 until decommissioned in 1993 then to the USS WASP 93 to 96. We used to always order from Cals Pizza and subs. I used to get the cheese steak sub and suicide wings. This place was the best. Good to see they are still in business serving Virginia and the Navy. It brings back good memories for me as a young kid in the Navy.“

“I love this place: great food, drinks, and atmosphere. But a couple bartenders have really been wrecking the vibe for me lately by being snarky and confrontational. I asked if they had ice cream because I wanted a Jack and Coke float on a hot day, and the bartender acted like I had committed a crime against mixology.

I ended up going down to Pixel’s and they treated me right. Ghent likes to present itself as progressive and bohemian, but sometimes the tolerance feels more aesthetic than real. As a Filipino guy who doesn’t fit the tidy mold people expect, I notice when “welcoming” spaces suddenly aren’t.

Still love the food and atmosphere, but the service needs to match the image. If I see those bartenders again, I’m turning 360 degrees and moonwalking out.“

“So my man wanted pizza tonight and we’ve been wanting to try Sharks so it only made sense to order from there. Let me tellll you! The consistency was perfect. Not too saucy but enough to taste the flavor, nice crispy crust and the cheese was perfect. I got the hot honey pepperoni and it was mouthwatering. We can’t wait to try all of the other speciality pizzas. Highly recommend!!! This is def our new go to“

Had a good time at this place, first thing it's a good time. They were in karaoke mode and people were having a great time. I just had some cocktails so not sure about the food. They do smoke inside so be aware“

“I have Crohns disease, and cant normally eat pizza, which I LOVE! However, because you guys use REAL cheese and have THE ONLY GLUTEN FREE CRUST I know of, I am able to eat pizza again. I saw that on the flyer, and thought to myself, I can eatvTHEIR pizza! When it got here, it was hot, cheesy, and soooo good. And, no bad tummy ache when I was done. Needless to say Guess who MY favorite pizza is now? YOU GUYS ROCK!“

“Stopped in tonight around 7:30. There were about 12 tables occupied. We waited about 5 minutes for someone to come over to seat us. And that basically set the pace for the rest of the experience… server was very nice but the service was extremely slow. Drinks took about 10 minutes, bread and salad took about 20. Dinner was served quickly after we got our salad. To-go boxes took awhile too. We were never asked if we wanted more wine. Like I said server was very nice but I feel like she had a lot more going on than taking care of her tables. The food on the other hand was absolutely amazing. We will be back again just because of the food!“

I wasn’t expecting the ricotta so I didn’t love it tbh but I ordered online and they list the ingredients so it’s totally my fault for not seeing it. The delivery driver was really nice and my kids liked their food. (Pepperoni pizza & chicken fingers). Didn’t have to wait long for delivery either! :)“
