“When I visited Chicago as a child, I remember trying Chicago style pizza there several times with the family. It was . . . different. You see, I'm from St. Louis just four hours away and was tied to thin crust, like cracker thin--which I still very much love. But that Chicago pizza had such a weird texture and what not. Flashforward to today and 1,400 miles to the east, I moved to Norfolk for a job almost twenty years ago, and um. I don't know if my taste buds changed, or if this place just knows how to do it the way it should be, but that place in Chicago has nothing on this. I scoffed at first at the price, that is until I tried it at the urging of a co-worker and each slice is like a whole meal. The texture, the taste, the crust. Perfection. I never though I was a deep dish fan of any kind until Del Vecchios showed me how it is supposed to be done. Add to that the comradery of the staff and the personal nature of the wait-staff. Del Vecchios is among the best pizza I've had, bar none. They are proof of the advantages of venturing outside the safe mediocre comfort of chains and trying the smaller mom and pop tried and true places because now that I've had it, I don't want Chicago style pizza from anyone else, even in Chicago.“

And the little market in the back full of Greek, Italian, Portuguese, French, and Spanish goodies is too good to pass up! “Attended the wine dinner last evening and was underwhelmed. I had called to ask if they would accommodate dietary requests such as vegetarian/pescatarian and was told no however last evening they had several people that they accomadated for dietary requests. It was disappointing to learn that too late. It was a rainy cold evening and the seating for the event was in their inclosed outside seating area. Throughout the evening you got burst of cold air in spite of the heaters it was cold. Going into the colder months I definitely would not attend if they don’t change the location of the dinner in their restaurant. The food and wine were good but nothing overly impressive. The last wine was Federalist which is a very inexpensive everyday wine that you can get at total wine for under $20. I guess I was expecting more from the wine dinner which is why I say I was underwhelmed.“

“This is my 2nd time ordering from this location and the service has been spectacular. The gentleman in the front brought my order to the car(doom scrolling and lost track of the time). Overall completely satisfied. Wish I had pictures but the slices barely made it to the counter.“

“Some of the best pizza I’ve had in Norfolk! And the service is incredible, they are so nice. Apparently I messed up my order when I ordered online because I wanted half cheese but they still helped me out and gave me a discount on another pizza and even through in some cheesey bread for me, even though it was my mistake. This is my new favorite pizza place!“

“I just went to pick up food for the family and walked into the most beautiful controlled chaos I've ever seen on American soil! The staff was excellent and coordinated with how they greeted us while handling several tasks and communicating with each other to prepare the orders. “Wow I was sitting here in Ghana Africa and a thaught came to me. I asked my wife what was the name of that sub place we use to always order from when I was stationed in Norfolk. I was stationed at NOB on the USS Iwo Jima in 1992 until decommissioned in 1993 then to the USS WASP 93 to 96. We used to always order from Cals Pizza and subs. I used to get the cheese steak sub and suicide wings. This place was the best. Good to see they are still in business serving Virginia and the Navy. It brings back good memories for me as a young kid in the Navy.“

Not too saucy but enough to taste the flavor, nice crispy crust and the cheese was perfect. I got the hot honey pepperoni and it was mouthwatering. “Hands down BEST Mediterranean salad I've ever had. All of the ingredients that came together so well including whole roasted cloves of garlic 😋 The pizza and garlic knots were also not disappointing! The menu has a variety of specialty pizzas and other items, for everyone. The service was also good, and the place is very open and you can see the pizza oven. It's pretty cool, neat inside too. Very open, downtowny, old school, original design and rustic vibe. I recommend it, and I myself will be revisiting!“

“I have Crohns disease, and cant normally eat pizza, which I LOVE! However, because you guys use REAL cheese and have THE ONLY GLUTEN FREE CRUST I know of, I am able to eat pizza again. I saw that on the flyer, and thought to myself, I can eatvTHEIR pizza! When it got here, it was hot, cheesy, and soooo good. And, no bad tummy ache when I was done. “Stopped in tonight around 7:30. There were about 12 tables occupied. We waited about 5 minutes for someone to come over to seat us. And that basically set the pace for the rest of the experience… server was very nice but the service was extremely slow. Drinks took about 10 minutes, bread and salad took about 20. Dinner was served quickly after we got our salad. To-go boxes took awhile too. We were never asked if we wanted more wine. Like I said server was very nice but I feel like she had a lot more going on than taking care of her tables. The food on the other hand was absolutely amazing. We will be back again just because of the food!“

Had a good time at this place, first thing it's a good time. They were in karaoke mode and people were having a great time. I just had some cocktails so not sure about the food. They do smoke inside so be aware“

Sure enough it was definitely worth it! The size and price is something you can’t beat! Yesterday was our second time eating the rib eye special and this time the steak was thick and huge! Was confused with what I got, the cashier lady with long green fingernails (whom was also handling the food and money with no gloves and packaging it), smirked and was like you never had this flavor of wings before and laughed as if my inquiry was abnormal. Theres some serious sanitation issues as well which isnt good during a pandemic. Rehardless the picture below is what i got.“
