“When I think omakase, I think sushi. Kappo was wagyu omakase, so I didn’t know what to expect exactly. The wagyu was beyond delicious like melt in your mouth delicious. I added the sake pairing and it did not disappoint! The space was intimate with about ten bar seats and three tables of 4. Chef Ogawa was there showing us the cut of wagyu. The course took around 2.5 hours.“

I recall that the sashimi was fresh and the portions generous, but I was a bit disappointed in the flavor, perhaps because it was not served with a side of rice. I would return and try it again. “Went for dinner at opening time and there was no wait and restaurant was basically empty which I like. Immediately greeted and sat and provided menus. The service was outstanding, maybe due to how busy the establishment was at the time, but nonetheless outstanding!! Our waitress was very kind, attentive, and pleasant. The food was all soooooo good. Started with the soft shell crab which when delivered to the table had a small flame in the middle;great presentation!!! The fish was very fresh , and you could see the chefs making all the sushi to order which is great. Toll sizes were normal size about 8 pieces and all were delivered at once which I like. The restaurant is a little smaller with about 15 ish tables so I'm sure it can fill up quickly when busy. Desert was also great ❤️. Loved the presentation again as the flatware was very cute as you can see in the photos. Best sushi I have had in Virginia so far ❤️❤️❤️. Prices were reasonable for the amount of shushi and sake that we ordered and would def go back. Must try

The sushi is impecable and the service is even better. I have come here just for a quick dinner to take home and a place to sulk after the death of my abuela. Their demeanor is unmatched to other sushi places in DC and I, regretfully, wish I could have spent more time with their fabulous staff. We got the best, most epic sushi boat I've ever seen in my life. The fatty tuna and the salmon belly sashimi is probably the best sushi I've ever had. The wagyu was also super delicious and we love how it's served on a banana leaf. We can't wait to try their other dishes like Udon and Wagyu Sukiyak“

“I recently had lunch at a Korean-Japanese restaurant in Annandale specializing in Japanese ramen and meat cutlets. The lunch combo included ramen, chawanmushi, a cutlet, and side dishes such as pickled radish, kimchi, and Tonkatsu sauce. The ramen had a simple flavor, and the chawanmushi was basic without much flavor, as it was just a steamed egg. The Tonkatsu was of good quality, soft and juicy inside and crunchy outside. For dessert, they offered a complementary Yakult. Overall, there was nothing extraordinary about the food, service, and atmosphere.“

“Loved the food and service at Fujisan. Everything was beautifully plated and there were definitely creative items on the menu. My favorites were the seared salmon belly, Ishiyaki where they cook the beef on the hot iron stone, wagyu uni (simply gorgeous and delicious), sushi tacos, and salmon volcano rice. Yakitori platter was great because we had a variety of tastings. The mushrooms and pork belly were my fav! My friends ordered the soup dobin mushi which comes in the cutest tea pot. If you want something beautiful yet the Fujisan box deluxe. Never seen anything like it, so colorful and lots of fresh raw fish, eel, fish egg, etc. Nice to have something different than your typical sushi boat. The ambiance is really nice too. Very beautifully designed with blues and golds. Very classy. The sushi was very fresh I find that some places don’t have fresh cold fish how it should be so I’m glad this place did not disappoint. As for desserts the green tea mochi, tempura ice cream, and cheesecake were amazing. Personal favorite is cheesecake. Highly recommend!“

“Great American-style sushi rolls! Their sushi is packed with ingredients and very filling. I wouldn’t call the sushi authentic by any means, but the fish quality is ok and the specialty roll portions are definitely worth their price.

There was no wait on a Sunday evening for my party of 3, and our server was very polite and made sure we were well attended to!

I recommend the Bubba Roll, Yellowtail Deluxe Roll, and Scallop Assassin Roll. I haven’t tried their noodles or rice dishes so I’d be happy to visit again for another quick, casual meal out ?“

“sushi oishii in vienna, va, is hands down one of the best ayce sushi spots around! my wife and i stopped in for dinner on a friday night and chose to sit at the bar. it was a fantastic decision. the atmosphere was lively yet cozy, perfect for a date night or a casual outing.

our server, colin, was absolutely amazing. he was attentive, friendly, and made sure we always had everything we needed. his recommendations were spot-on, and his upbeat energy added so much to the experience.

the sushi itself was incredible—so fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. every roll we tried was a winner, and the sashimi was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. the variety on the ayce menu was impressive, and it was clear that the chefs put a lot of care into each dish.

I lived in Japan for the better part of my adult life and every time I come to Maki Bar (at least once a month at this point) I'm impressed by the size of the cuts of sashimi, the amount and flavor of the tempura shrimp udon (my go to order!), and all my friends and family I've brought have been equally blown away. Their special rolls have all tasted great too. The Salmon Special is the photo I've attached and was a dream for a salmon lover like me! Can't recommend them enough!“

“Excellent choice of sushi resturant that fits in between casual and fine dining. It has an extensive menu of Japanese choices so you are not limited to sushi. I went with their sushi special offered with finer cuts of fish and was impressed with the selection. I also tried their truffle shoyu ramen and did not think it was that great. The egg which should be one of the best parts is not properly prepared. The broth just felt lacking and not rich in flavor. They gave a lot of noodles but did not find them to be very tasty. It was my fault because this is a sushi resturant and ramen is not their speciality.“

Menu items I’d order again:
- any kind of sashimi (amazing quality and generous-sized slices)
- ahi tower
- summer roll
- salmon maki roll

Items I’d pass on:
- salmon carpaccio (the sauce wasn’t it)
- fried ice cream

Overall, the price points are a bit higher compared to other local sushi places but the quality is 100% worth it.
Important note: they’re known for their sashimi and sushi, so don’t expect much when you order ramen lol. If you want good ramen, go to a restaurant that specializes in
