The steam shumai left a bit more to be desired imo.
Spicy mango roll is one of my fav rolls- so sweet! Love the seaweed salad too.
But my all time fav dessert is the red beam taiyaki with matcha ice cream!“

“My girlfriend and I went here for our first time for our 3 year anniversary. It was a very nice and cute place and the atmosphere was very pleasant. The food was excellent, we both enjoyed what we got and kept talking about how good it was. The best part of our whole meal was our server Jaden. He was very patient with us as first timers and gave great recommendations. My girlfriend and I had a good time with him and great laughs, Jaden and the whole restaurant is a main reason we’ll keep coming back and bring our friends!“

“My friend David Nguyen recommended me this sushi spot in Fairfax and I have to say- I can't believe I didn't come here sooner. The service is fantastic and sushi isn't good- it's phenomenal! We ordered the 208 pieces for 6 of us and we weren't too hungry going into but that sushi boat was devoured in less than 10 mins. “I've been coming here the past year and a half, and every single time it's consistently fantastic. Their katsu is the best in the DMV, and comparable to what I've had in Japan when I was there last year (personally recommend the fish katsu, and the chicken katsu). The service is always friendly, and the owner often comes out to check on you personally. I almost don't want this place to get too popular so that I always have an open table ready for me, but they really deserve to be a top spot in this area.“

“Food was great for the value, we are sushi fans so we really enjoyed the varieties, fish was fresh, slices of scallops were a bit thin but still sweet, although did taste a little bit of fishiness.. sweet shrimp was not big but amazingly sweet, tuna belly ( Toro) was so good and oily like the way it's supposed to. Ikura ( salmon caviar) second to none, a la carte sushi places doesn't even have this quality. there are 10 sushi chef there you're not going to get the same thing all the time but I don't have an issue with that.. generally it's pretty standard things with sauce may tastes a bit different because each chef may put on different amount.. we eat sushi everywhere even in major cities like California, Chicago, Dallas and New York, we enjoy ayce sushi, Bottom line is $35 is a great value for what they offer.“

“Walking into the Lotte food court, I could immediately smell the katsu cooking at Hikari Don Katsu--and it was impossible not to follow the scent. I'm a huge fan of both katsu and curry, so after hearing this spot does both well, I had to give it a try.

The katsu tasted comforting and homemade, like someone put real care into every bite. It was crispy, juicy, and especially good with the sauce, which had a subtle sweetness and buttery richness without being too heavy.

The curry leaned more Korean-style than Japanese-style to me, but honestly, it was so good. It had a nice spicy kick, lots of flavor, and was filling enough that I could happily eat a whole bowl of the curry by itself.
Overall, I was really impressed with Hikari Don Katsu. Great katsu, great curry, and definitely a place I'll be coming back to when I'm craving something warm and satisfying.“

“I’ve found a new favorite Japanese restaurant! Real Japanese food made with actual Japanese ingredients, not the same as the stuff you find in mall food courts or at that [FAST]way chain joint. I ordered the Chicken and Steak Hibachi and the Chicken Yakisoba, and they were both delicious! Portions aren’t generous though, but healthy; you won’t feel overstuffed after eating.“

“I've eaten here several times whenever I get my nails done. Shrimp tempura udon, cream cheese crab dumplings, and chicken katsu are my favorite dishes. On this particular visit, I guess I selected the wrong location for a pickup. UberEats had the Alexandria location as the closest location even though I was right next door (at my scheduled nail appt). Jennie gave the Alexandria location a call and the Vienna location ended up getting my order ready here. They were very helpful. I did the AYCE option and I did just that..spicy garlic edamame was good, TNT roll delicious, Butter Garlic shrimp was my absolute favorite and ordered 2 helpings. I would have eaten more but belly said stop. I was a Sushi Masa fan before eating here, but now? I have a new place.
Atmosphere was good and not as loud as Sushi Masa, plus I was at my table after arriving within 5 minutes. Service was good, only complaint is to hope the server slows down just a tad to wait until I finish my order. But overall she was nice and did well. A++...“

“Great! $4 plates of good but not the best sushi. It’s well beyond buffet sushi, but not to the level of a great sushi restaurant. Their Wagyu wasn’t good Wagyu and their tuna didn’t look fresh. But overall the value is good and the experience is great.

Loved the robot waiter and the express order conveyor belt on the second level.
