It is also by far (in my experience) the best place for spicy fried chicken. It is incredibly difficult to find any place that offers food at the level of spice available here consistently. There are also varying spice levels they offer that allow you to find the level you're comfortable with.

“If you haven't tried this filipino restaurant you are missing out. They might have all the fast food chicken places cooked. The spicy and original are both amazing. Spicy means spicy, too. Don't get thrown off by the spaghetti either. Filipino spaghetti is good with the balance of savory and sweet flavors. And who doesn't want a side of gravy to dip the chicken in or the biscuit, or to pour over the rice. Don't skip on the peach mango pie either. I wished there was one close to where I live.“

“It's impossible not to compare Don Pollo to other local Peruvian chicken places, like Crisp & Juicy or el Pollo Rico. Because of that there's a high bar set. The chicken is fresh, juicy, and well seasoned, but I'd have preferred a more crispy skin. The black beans and rice lacked flavor, definitely needed salt. The fries were where they lost me. They weren't fresh, weren't seasoned, weren't hot, and worst of all, they were kind of soggy. The sauces were very good. You get a bright green spicy sauce, that seems to be made from fresh peppers, perhaps jalapeño. Then there's a mayo based creamy orange colored sauce. Frankly because the chicken is so well seasoned, I don't think it needs sauce, but it's nice to have the option.“

Event: My Mom's 75th Birthday Celebration

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Pollo Campero in Herndon, Virginia! They catered my mother’s 75th birthday celebration, and it was truly exceptional. We had a guest list of 300 people, and every single one of them raved about the food! They loved it!

We ordered a delicious variety including their famous fried chicken, grilled chicken, chicken nuggets for the kids, rice, Campero beans, coleslaw, plantains and their incredibly flavorful mac & cheese. Everything was perfectly hot, fresh, and beautifully organized when it arrived. The delivery was punctual and seamless, which made such a huge difference for a large event like this. Thank you Okely for the delivery service.

From the very beginning, Carlos Gonzalez from the Pollo Campero call center was absolutely phenomenal. I was nervous about coordinating such a large order, but Carlos went above and beyond to make sure every detail was handled. He patiently explained everything to me and followed up with calls just to reassure me that everything was on track. His customer service was top-notch and honestly one of the best experiences I’ve ever had with any company.

Thanks to Carlos and the amazing Herndon team, the food was a HUGE hit and helped make my mom’s birthday celebration a truly memorable day for all of us. I am so grateful and appreciative of the professionalism, care, and quality Pollo Campero provided.
