“Great place. I love it. However. The random closings are a large drag. For no apparent reason--closed tonight. Not even a sign sometimes. WTF. We are your public and we keep you in biz. How about some respect with regard to this ongoing issue. You know I love you. Just sayin.”

“Absolutely one of those hidden holes in the wall that you would accidentally drive by in a small Vermont town.
Ate during the morning rush.
Lucy is one of the best waitresses I’ve ever seen.
Looked like she was the only server on a busy morning. Never hesitated to make sure my coffee cup stayed full, and she didn’t missed a single beat with any request.
They make their own corned beef and hash at Snap’s and it will probably be the best you’ll ever taste.
Decent prices with large portions.
Zero complaints, and if you’re touring the area it’s worth a stop.
The design is nostalgic of what my small town dinner looked like when I was growing up in the Midwest.”

“The whole family enjoyed an excellent meal tonight start to finish. Service was friendly and quick. The setting was beautiful. Salads were fresh and flavorful. Had the kalette appetizer which the whole table enjoyed. Entrees were fantastic! I had the rib eye. One son had the steak au poivre; another had haddock with heirloom tomatoes, and my husband had the pork chops. We all agreed it was a perfect meal. We ended the meal with wonderful desserts - maple creme brulee, marscapone cheesecake, banana bread pudding, and ice cream with a praline topping. Just the right size and sweetness to finish this wonderful meal. We hope to be back soon.”

“Restaurant Review: Fire and Ice - Middlebury VT -- This restaurant is a multi-generation family-owned restaurant that has made its staple in the Middlebury area. It has designed its restaurant to cherish the memories of the town and family. You can definitely see this in its eclectic, interesting decor, starting with the Sailing Boat Hull Shaped roof to the 10+ curated themed rooms that are filled with local treasuries and memories; you can see what families flock to this restaurant, big and small, to enjoy a fantastic family dinner. -- As a seasoned traveler, having explored 68 countries and 36 states, I approach restaurant reviews with a clear criterion: Taste, Presentation, and Service. My goal is to provide an impartial perspective, highlighting both the commendable and deficient aspects of dining establishments. -- The evening started with our amazing waitress - Michelle. She had a bubbly personality, constantly checking in with us, and was quick to answer questions, provide feedback and recommendations, and quickly resolve minor issues. She represented the restaurant well. -- Appetizers We started with the Fried Mozzarella. Since we were a party of 5, I decided to order 2 orders. Big mistake. They were surprisingly large, cooked perfectly, and served with an extraordinarily tasting thick creamy marinara sauce. -- Vietnamese Spring Rolls. I was very excited about this appetizer because, most of the time, you get deep-fried rolls that taste like oil. These rolls were wrapped in rice paper, served cold, and had the perfect combination of shrimp and vegetables - accompanied by a fresh cucumber salad and served with Ponzu (soy) and peanut dipping sauce. Very refreshing to the palette, especially before a hardy meal. -- Filet Mignon - this 8 oz filet was cooked to perfection - crispy on the outside with a buttery and soft interior, which you can top it off with bearnaise sauce or 2 amazing additional sides for the steak, a Bacon-Onion Jam, which was absolutely amazing, and pickled onions. My favorite was the combination of jam and pickled onions, which were savory, sweet, and tangy. Served with a baked potato. -- Shrimp Risotto - a special for the night was topped with a creamy chevre, green peas, and garnished with an amazing watermelon radish. I find that either you do risotto right or you fail miserably. In this instance, the risotto was cooked perfectly and presented with a velvety and creamy texture, great consistency, and the perfect combination of flavors to round the dish. I was impressed with the presentation by adding the spiraled watermelon radish, which added a great dimension to the dish. -- Classic Fettucine Alfredo - This is a tough dish for me to review as I had authentic original Fettucine Alfredo with Alfredo di Lelio's family in Italy. The founder of Fettucine Alfredo. This dish definitely stood up to the classic dish as well as it could, and in comparison to other versions I have eaten, it definitely ranks well. -- Whiskey Barrel Steak (not pictured) was my main entree. This dish was definitely amazing. I was a little nervous that the Whiskey and Vermont Maple Syrup Marinade was going to be overpowering. Still, alas, it was the perfect combination of rich, smokey notes and sweet undertones of the syrup. It really provided the perfect addition of sweetness to the dish while still allowing the flavors of the steak to really stand out. The twice-baked potato reminded me of the times my father twice baked potatoes as a kid. Hard top shell broke open with a creamy textured potato filling. -- Overall - This restaurant was excellent. It provides a space for the locals and visitors to get together and have a large selection of local flavors with twists along the way. The owner clearly takes pride in what he puts on the table, and the guests are treated with a great experience. Make sure you walk through the restaurant to see all the different dining spaces, which is a great conversation starter. Fire and Ice Restaurant”

“Little Seed is a community staple to Middlebury. The sort of place to casually run into a friend or to plan on having a meeting. The owners are very involved in the community and, like the baristas, are so friendly. And! The hot and iced lattes are the best I’ve had- anywhere.”

“The hostess seems a little stressed and had a big to do based around whether or not people had made reservations before showing up. Saw a guy walk out on her because he didn't want to deal with her parade. Experienced hostesses would know before a guest showed what the availability is, the place had many empty tables. Outside of that the food was awesome. The poached eggs on the Benedict were a little over cooked, but it still tasted good. My $16 dollar slices of toast were very very small and my daughters pancakes were large enough to feed two people. Over $70 on breakfast for 3, I'd expect a bit more out of the place. The waitress was nice but wasn't on top of our table like I'd expect. Overall I was sitting in a spot where the air conditioner was blowing right on me and I had to wear my jacket all through breakfast. The food tasted good enough for us to want visit again, hopefully this visit was just a spoof and the next one will be better.”

Not only were they absolutely delicious, but they were also beautifully made—perfect for our winter wedding. Beyond her amazing talent, she was so professional and easy to talk to throughout the entire process. She made the experience stress-free, and truly delivered above and beyond our expectations. “I've been living in Vermont for over 7 years and still haven't tried every beer. Today, I bought a 4pk. of "No More Heroes" and a 4pk. of "Red Dwarf." Excellent! I intend to visit the brewery soon, as I am so impressed and grateful that they are championing beer styles such as these.”
“This place is an amazing hidden gem! The fresh fish, salads, and many other goodies are top tier 👌 😋 I sadly should have gotten a larger size of the broccoli salad because oh my goodness!!! Even better, the owner is so kind and enjoyable to interact with! Definitely give them a try if you haven't already!”
“Best little general store in Vermont. Our mobile veterinary practice stops there at least two times a week. “Decor, service, cocktails, food- all outstanding! I was dining alone and sat at the bar- bartender was that magical combo of friendly and helpful but not hovering. The ricotta gnocchi was the best meal I’ve had in quite some time. And the vibe was so cool - antique/Scandi/bohemian? I’m going tomorrow night and making sure I save room for dessert.”
