Barr Hill by Caledonia Spirits Distilleries • $$$
116 Gin Ln, Montpelier

“Barr Hill offers up amazing food and drinks in a laid back setting. My favorite dish was the diced potatoes, which reminded me of the "patatas bravas" served in Spain but amazingly enough, it was even better! I highly recommend giving it a go and sampling one of their delicious cocktails and some of their fare. You won't be disappointed!“

Arandas Mexican Cuisine, Montpelier Mexican • $$
108 State St, Montpelier

“After working here- I wouldn't recommend. First of all, employees don't recieve the credit card tips after being promised tips. Second of all, nothing is made in house except for the guacamole and pico. Not authentic mexican food of any sort. Canned enchilada sauce. Stuffed Polblano peppers come in a plastic bag. The owners have their own sauce they ask for on enchiladas. It tastes much better than what they serve the public. The owners Lu and David are dirty and steal tips from their employees who are Lu's own "people". Not to mention the place is far from up to health code!“

“I'd seldom eaten crepes until I visited The Skinny Pancake on a recent trip to Vermont. My wife's Hot Apple Crumble crepe was fantastic! But the jury is still out on their savory options, as I didn't enjoy my own Johnny Crepe (BBQ). (I can attest, from visiting another location, that the breakfast crepes are tasty.)The "kids'" chicken tender basket is a great option if you aren't actually in the mood for crepes.“

“Very few people realize the importance of an actively engaged front end to the customer experience unless service is abysmal. O'Maddi's is such a welcoming experience. After puzzling through literally a wall of really enticing choices, actually ordering seems affirming. Everyone is made to feel like O'Maddi's values their business and wants their party to have the best experience possible. The actual food? Both of our sandwiches were well conceived and well made. They were delicious at a price that seemed to us to be extremely reasonable. We were there during Northfield Youth Art month with the artwork of fifth graders gracing the wall. It's THAT kind of place..... which is intended to be a compliment.“
