“Royal Orchid has quickly become one of my favorite spots in Montpelier whenever I'm craving Thai food. I've been on a serious Thai food kick lately, and every meal I've had here has completely hit the spot.

One of my favorites is the fried rice with squid. The portions are generous, the flavors are balanced, and everything tastes fresh and well-prepared. It's the kind of meal that keeps you thinking about it afterward.

The atmosphere is also really welcoming. The staff is friendly, attentive, and makes the whole dining experience feel comfortable from the moment you walk in.

The only thing that surprised me was the dessert selection. After such a strong meal, I found myself wishing there were a few more dessert options to choose from. It's not a dealbreaker by any means, but it was one of the few areas where I felt there could be a little more variety.

Overall, if you're looking for great Thai food in Montpelier, Royal Orchid is absolutely worth visiting. Great food, welcoming service, and a consistently enjoyable experience.“

“This is a beautiful spot by the winooski river, we ate on the outside porch with a view of the river, even saw a mother Robin feeding its young in a nest in the rafters. I had linguine pescatore which was delicious, my partner had scampi e cape sante also delicious but unfortunately both meals were light on the scallops hers had 1, also I have to wonder why some sort of bread wouldn’t be served with these dishes. I did mention to staff after and they offered to compensate which I turned down but was made sure I would be treated next time we’re in the area The staff here are great and service was quick, definitely a place to go“

“Seriously delicious enchiladas, refried beans, and rice. Maybe I’m being dramatic after being deprived of Mexican food as a San Diego native while living in NYC (it’s all garbage), but wow this spot made me so happy. I got the ground beef for my enchiladas. Flavorful, tender, real corn tortillas, cheesy, all around so good. Also got a great Vermont Mexican lager that was really nice. I tried all the salsas too! Loved the skater rock vibe. Reminds me of home in the middle of VT. YUM. Thanks guys 🤙“

“This review is for the $5 Margarita Wednesdays. (And if you sit at the bar, you get free chips and salsa.) Mike, the bartender, is an excellent guy. The margaritas are ok tasting, but they do the trick. Sometimes the chips are a bit stale, but again they’re free so no complaints there.

I’ve never actually eaten here—other than the chips and salsa. Their food looks mediocre and most of the reviews reflect that. But this is Montpelier, and most of the people here aren’t that demanding, so they can get away with not upping their game in the kitchen.“

“Cornerstone Pub & Kitchen is one of those places that manages to do everything well. Whether you're stopping in for cocktails, dinner, or happy hour, the entire experience feels polished, welcoming, and consistently enjoyable.

One thing I love is the bar seating area. It's a great spot to grab a drink, catch up with friends, or enjoy a meal without committing to a full table. The cocktails are excellent, and their happy hour is definitely worth taking advantage of.

The food is where Cornerstone really shines. The salads are fresh and flavorful, and the crispy Caesar salad is one of my favorites. Sometimes a Caesar salad can be forgettable, but this one absolutely isn't.

The steak was cooked beautifully, and the truffle pasta deserves its own recognition. The truffle flavor is rich without being overpowering, and it's one of those dishes that immediately makes you want another bite before you've even finished the first one.

The atmosphere is warm, the staff is friendly, and the food consistently delivers. Overall, Cornerstone Pub & Kitchen is an easy recommendation and one of the better dining experiences in the area.“

“What a gem of a spot! Easily the tastiest pizza in town! A higher price point than other places in town and worth every extra cent. The person who greeted and helped us was so welcoming and helpful. They also made a very tasty drink! we got our food to go, but ended up hanging out to play the Godzilla pinball machine in back. Woodbelly was incredibly inviting and has such great atmosphere, friendly hardworking staff, and absolutely amazing pizza!“

“generally a decent place, but tired of it just being closed constantly with no explanation, especially of recent. hasn't been open ONCE since before and after Thanksgiving. not too many alternatives in the area; Aradas is HIGHLY overpriced and subpar and Aztec is very mediocre for the $$$. please open up again.“

“This cafe is quaint but the quality of the food is unmatched. The homemade corned beef omelette is incredible, the coffee is strong and the rye bread was some of the best I ever had. It's clear this is a local favorite and not a tourist trap and the price to quality shows.“
