“This post is from Pacific Northwest Foodies. Doc’s Marina Grill ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I’ve been on the quest for a great Crab Louie salad for a few years. Sadly, this classic crab salad is hard to find even in states like Washington. I suspect it has to do with most people not wanting to pay a lot of money for a salad, but if you’ve ever had a great one, you know this one is worth it. After doing a lot of research, I made a point to try the one at Doc’s Marina Grill on Bainbridge Island, Washington. There’s also a location in Port Townsend, Washington. For starters, I ordered a cup of Doc’s House Made Clam Chowder ($8) - famous because it’s “oh-so-good!” It needed a sprinkle of salt, but it was very good. For my entrée, I ordered Doc’s Dungeness Crab Louie ($38) - mixed greens topped with tender crab, seasonal vegetables, heirloom tomatoes and Doc’s house-made Louie dressing. I was impressed! I would rate Doc’s Crab Louie a 4/5. It was beautifully presented, had a generous portion of crab, and the house made Louie dressing was excellent! I would give this salad a perfect rating if they removed the red onion, and added a few black olives and asparagus spears. Even so, I was very happy with my salad and would rank it among one the best Crab Louie’s I’ve ever had. It is certainly the best I’ve had in Washington state. In addition to serving great food, I really enjoyed the ambience of Doc’s, and the service was excellent! I look forward to visiting again and try and some new menu items. *The upstairs level and bathrooms are wheelchair accessible. * There is an opening above the urinal that is a giant periscope. It provides a panoramic view of Eagle Harbor. It was designed by Lee Scott, a Carnegie Mellon graduate student. If you don’t use a urinal, but are interested in seeing the periscope, staff will clear the room so you can check it out too. I didn’t know about this until after my visit. Next time, I will be sure to check it out. 😊 Highly Recommended!!!“

“Amazing cocktail bar focused on the wide variety inherent in Amari - think things like Aperol and Campari and Montenegro and Averna and many many others, each unique, with a few loose styles. Jeff the bartender uses his encyclopedic knowledge of the range of Amari to craft inventive cocktails. Even if you aren’t normally a bitter palate person give it a go.“

Good food and some gluten free options for those who roll that way. Worth a stop in when you're in this neighborhood. Or a trip if you're seeking a decent meal, a fun decor, and a side of pinball.“

SH makes so many IPAs, and now often outstanding ones! This will be a must stop for fresh hop season Sep-Oct every year! So looking forward to it this year. “We’ve been to The Sip twice now and honestly I am so glad that something like this opened up near us. As a mama of two, one 4 year old with autism and one verrryyy precocious one year old, it can be difficult for my husband and I to get out and have fun in an environment that feels safe and comfortable to our kids. This place does that and more- from the wonderful and gracious girls who work the counter to the board games and puzzles shelved thoughtfully. The kids charcuterie is perfect. The food is delicious and everything is well priced. I hope that they get even more taps going in the future (more seltzer options would be awesome). I could not be more thankful that The Sip opened up and gave us a place downtown that ACTUALLY feels welcoming to families- something I feel can be few and far between in Washington.“

Nice and quiet, you can watch the golfers on the driving range, and good food. Great service and reasonable prices. Hubby had the Sampler breakfast and I had the Hash Brown Stack. “We went to Tracyton Public House for the first time last night and immediately felt welcomed. When the man at the door was checking IDs, we mentioned we’d never been in and he gave us his food recommendations. We took him up on that and ordered the wings! They are SO insanely good (and HUGE!!). Each sauce we got was remarkable. So much flavor. The bartender was very nice and friendly and welcoming. The whole vibe of the place was really cool. “I stopped by Lock & Keel the other night and had one of those small but meaningful experiences that remind you why some bars just get it right. I ordered a Diet Coke, but for some reason, my credit card wouldn’t work in their system. Before I could even start fumbling for cash or awkwardly apologizing, the bartender—this super sweet girl with black hair and a nose ring—just smiled and said, “Don’t worry about it, it’s on me.”

It wasn’t about the free drink; it was about the vibe. She was friendly, calm, and made what could’ve been an embarrassing moment feel like nothing at all. You don’t always get that kind of kindness in busy bars, and it stood out.

Lock & Keel isn’t just a place to grab a drink—it’s a spot where the staff genuinely seem to care about making people feel welcome. Shoutout to the bartender with the nose ring and black hair—thank you for the Diet Coke and the good energy.
