“Wildly surprised by the quality and taste of the food! I was skeptical as cafes in/near museums don’t always have the best food and rely on convenience for patronage. I would happily go back just to eat their fry bread again! Somewhat expensive as you pay over $8 for one fry bread taco but it was so good that I went back and ordered a 2nd taco after finishing the first. The food came out quickly and we barely had to wait. Pleasantly surprised with the vegetarian options!“

“El Maestro del Taco has truly spectacular food. The flavors remind me so much of meals I’ve had in Mexico, and the restaurant is often filled with members of the local Mexican community - which says a lot about how authentic and delicious it is.

The carne asada burrito without beans is my absolute favorite, but I’ve also tried several tortas and sopas with different meats, and everything has been SO good. The staff are kind, and the whole place has a fun, lively, and interesting vibe.

The only reasons I’m giving four stars instead of five are that parking is often challenging, seating is limited, and food can take quite a while when they get busy. Honestly, though, it is absolutely worth the wait. This place has incredible food!“

The last time I was there, I had this delicious drink in the picture, I think it was called El Diablito. It was like a tamarind slushy with a hint of spicy. Very refreshing and yummy! I highly recommend this hidden gem.“

I love that you can serve yourself with salsa, onions, cilantro, and limes. And you can see everything being cooked right in front of you, including freshly shaved al pastor off the trompo 😋

This is no frills… but damn good food. Standing there waiting for your order with everyone around feels like community. They accept cash, Zelle, and Venmo.

Funny thing is the recent menu changes that they have made is what drew me back to this restaurant. Good food at a reasonable price! Small selection but the carne asada is well seasoned, the flour tortilla is great and the salsas are the best I have ever tasted. Also, the hot dogs are amazing. I am from Mexico and use to live in Mexicali were they have really good tacos so I have good references. My starts are 5 for food, service also 5 as Santiago and Rosa will take care of your order in the best way possible and atmosphere is 5 as it reminds me of my city and the warmth of hard working people. “I had the veggie green wet burrito recently. The food was tasty and the service friendly. I wish the veggie burrito had fajita veggies or avocado or something apart from rice, beans and cheese. The cost was the same and the meat was just excluded. The habenero salsa that I tried with the burrito and the green sauce on the burrito were both delicious.“

The food waa well packed and she gave us detailed instructions on how to serve (very much appreciated). The food was a hit and the quantity was appropriate.
