“As a Californian I’m usually quite picky about Mexican food. However Carmelo’s passed the test for having fantastic high quality food that tasted authentic and delicious. I ordered from them several times while in Seattle (chicken burrito/ chicken quesadilla were best) and loved it every time! Highly recommend it to all Seattle visitors!“
“This is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants. The service is incredible, always so friendly, giving out samples and giving out information about the foods. This place is authentic with food made with ingredients strait from Oaxaca. The ambiance is beautiful. It is very colorful and decorative. It’s right next to the original Starbucks so it is very busy. Their tacos and tamales are my favorite. I will say the food can feel a little heavy. This place is definitely worth a try to at least go once.“
“This place is really good, it's a local mom and pops Bodega. They have really good food and the people are really cool here. It's nice to pop in and pop out if you just need some things quick. I'm definitely all about supporting the locals and this place is definitely one of them.“
“Stopped in for lunch today and ordered the Bison taco and some of the sweet fry bread with honey on it. Not exactly the same sort of fry bread tacos I'm used to from Arizona but that's perfectly alright and I knew that from looking at the menu in advance. The bread came right out of the fryer so it was warm and airy. The veggies were fresh and the bison meat was well cooked (not chewy or anything). The sauce worked really well with it too! Kind of wish I'd gotten a second one ?I'll definitely be coming back here soon!“
“Stopped by as I was craving food and it seems like a great place to grab a bite.Parking is tricky as one must park in the street and pay.Food: limited selection of items. This is not your typical mom-pa place with so many choices. I got a torta that came with steak, potatoes and chorizo. I also orders the chips and salsa . Chips and salsa were fine. Torta was different from a traditional Mexican torta.I also order a chicken adobo taco. It was alright.Overall, a nice place to eat by FAR from being “authentic Mexican” food.Bonus: they have Jarritos, squirt , and other Mexican pop“
“Very good portion in its proteins, I liked the shepherd's wire ones, very good. They just need more seasoning in their proteins and especially in their sauces. A good Taco is always accompanied by an excellent sauce.A Hello, Good afternoon/morning goes a long way in a business and especially not saying repeat your order because I already forgot..Remember that pale ink is much better than a good memory!“
“Our family favorite.Good foods and quick service. We had multis, burrito, and a cup of horchata for about a little over $30.There are 2 big tables with a roof and heaters. We visit this place before a little walk at Lincoln Park for our appetite.“
“Accidently stopped by after close. They paid no mind to the hour. We had no idea they closed at 7 until I came to write this review. We are so thrilled they decided to serve us. The meat was seasoned to perfection. Their salsas were some of the best I've ever had. The pastor is the real winner! Delicious and they top the taco with a slice of pineapple. We will be back.“
“This place is an absolute gem with the best service anywhere in Seattle. I went for the first time during their "Tiki Peaks" theme and have been back several times since. I'm a huge Twin Peaks fan and had no idea that was even going on, so it made for the perfect surprise to see the place and the menu decked out in TP references. The cocktails are wonderful with interesting ingredients and the presentation is beautiful, which makes it hard not to stay for an extra drink or two. The food menu is, admittedly, not really my thing so I haven't tried too many options, but it's delicious if you're into some high quality homemade crunchwraps. The huckleberry tres leches was delicious too. And one of my favorite things about this place is that they regularly sell fun merch and replica props from film/TV.“
“The reviews for this place are beyond belief. You already know from my score that I am not in complete agreement, but here is another honest, unfiltered review. I'll start by saying the service could not have been any friendlier. I can also tell you that the prices are also reasonable. I had a single taco and flautas plate. The food was good, better than you would expect and certainly better than 99% of trucks and fast-food places out there, but it was a but short on flavor. In my opinion, everything needed salt and that was not just the food, but the hot sauces as well. If you don't season your food, I have to rely on the sauce for that extra kick and the sauces did not deliver. In addition, as advised, I had the flautas plate and the picture showed a side of guacamole, I didn't get guac, I got sour cream, so I don't know if that was a mistake or if they have changed how the dish is served, but trust me when I tell you, I expected guac and declined to say anything because I didn't want customers to overhear my concern. In the end, the food was good, but far from life changing and since it took 20 minutes to get here, it's unlikely I'll be returning any time soon. I'm really tired of ethnic places watering down recipes! When you say your recipes are generational, but they lack salt or heat, I can't trust you. I'm in the 3.5 range, but again, since everyone was really nice, I'll bump it up to 4, but even that is generous based on my meal not resembling the advertised image for it. These are hardworking people, but unfortunately, they did not bring their A game on my visit.“
“very reasonably priced tacos! current price is only $4 each and they are larger than street size tacos. staff was very nice and our food was ready right when they said it would be, only a 20 minute wait for 6 tacos. they did go a little heavy on the onion but that's just personal preference“
“I just got back last week from Mexico, and this place makes better tacos than many of the tacos I had on my trip. Definitely some of the best tacos in Seattle. The balance of flavors (spice, sour, sweet, char, etc.) is perfect here. The sauces are incredible, too. They have lots of veggie options for vegetarians (and they're fantastically grilled vegetables), are quick to make your dishes, and they're super nice and friendly.“
“Where do I start,Frybread is like no other. My husband had a rez burger omg bombI had the stuffed Frybread ?.I'm picky about my Frybread and the Frybread here is up there with the best of the best that I've had.Highly recommend it“
“Absolutely terrific. No nonsense, delicious and cheap. The place was packed during the work day from when we came to when we left, and for good reason.Affordable in a sometimes unaffordable age, good selection and incredibly reasonable prices. Staff were friendly and helpful with recommendations. Can't say enough good things.“
“This place is fantastic definitely a hidden gem You couldn't ask for better service and the food Was absolutely amazing I had the The Quesadilla with fresh made tortilla Lettuce sour cream and pico and a chorizo taco both were fantastic I have never had a quesadilla made like this it was essentially a huge taco I will definitely be eating here when I am in the area“
“This place is great. The food is really impressive, it’s basically standard pub fare but done well with some nice vegan additions. The taps are clean and the beer tastes like it. And they have music every night across a broad spectrum of genres. The counter of the main bar is worth having a drink at just so you can look at all the cool stuff shellacked in there. Add in that the owner apparently is working on restoring Beth’s Cafe to its former glory you have to love this place and ownership.“
“Dined here to cater to the vegan needs of some guests. Absolutely amazing food and tasty cocktails. The lentil nachos will blow you away. Easily the best nachos we've ever had, vegan or non-vegan, and a serving large enough for two to share. You won't be disappointed!Vegetarian options: Full vegan menu and everything we tried was delicious.“
“So darn good! I got the cod fish tacos which were fried to perfection and topped with cotija cheese and a chipotle sauce. My mom got the Acapulco shrimp tacos which has a jicama and mango salsa and topped with avocado. And the establishment is clean! Friendly service! High recommend this spot.I would’ve taken a picture of the tacos but my eyes and belly took action before I could.“
“Food was good but could have been better. I have had better tacos. Excellent service, staff is very friendly. Very good ambience. Lighting could be better. They have 3 salsas, all very good but spicy. Guac & chips are excellent. I wish they had nachos.“
“i got the Fried Chickenall i have to say is - wow.wowoh my godthat fried chicken was the best fried chicken i’ve had in my life. it’s unbelievable how good that wasthat breading was utterly magical. It was so insanely flaky and crunchy - just the absolute perfect level of each. It had such a satisfying dark brown color rather than the light brown you see on other fried chicken. You could tell this was truly fried in as much oil as possible - which you could also tell by how the breading was even slightly damp with oil and the bottom of the carton was still somewhat wet from the oileach bite of the breading was just absolute perfectionthe inside of the chicken was also astoundingly good - which i wasn’t expecting. the first time I took a bite of the chicken meat itself - i was shocked by how well it tasted. This wasn’t your boring old bland chicken you’d find somewhere else - it had fat to it - and even if the breading didn’t exist I would still really enjoy eating the chickenthe only thing i wish for is the breading had some spice to it - there pretty much wasn’t any of thatmy next absolute favorite part was the buttermilk biscuits that i got as a side. These were baked so perfectly - with a tough exterior but a soft interior. The butter dipping sauce added to this was the best part of the entire meal - it was so addicting it was impossible to resistwhat drags this down slightly, though, is the greek fries. I didn’t think these were good at all - while they were seasoned well with pepper throughout - the cheese was a) not well distributed and b) pretty infrequent. Also, the fries themselves were pretty hard to the touch but not crispy and didn’t have any softness inside. The white sauce didn’t taste very good eitherI will say the buffalo sauce that I added as a side was quite goodWhat puts this meal over the top is the massive portion size. It did cost a good amount (24 dollars) - but 3 of that was the greek fries which I’ll skip next time in favor of a side that doesn’t cost extra. The pieces of fried chicken were MASSIVE - there was so much food contained in that basket. I wasn’t even able to finish this entire meal. Given that you get this much fried chicken + two sides for a decent price, the value here is pretty damn goodoverall, out of this world fried chicken and biscuits, although the greek fries does keep this from the highest possible score. 9.25 / 10“
“Renewed my faith in Seattle Mexican food.Let's face it, Mexican food in Seattle varies greatly depending on the neighborhood. In mine, it sucks. Here, though, the flavors are fantastic, the ingredients fresh, the service wonderful. Phew!“
“First time here. Super bummed that our former local go-to Los Tinos has closed so we figured we'd give Taqueria La Original 2 a try. I perused the menu and it looks good. Not really a fan of waiting outside of taco trucks so I called in the order and was given a timeframe. 15 minutes. Showed up 15 minutes later. No other customers. I wait by the window for several minutes before even being acknowledged. Another customer comes to pick up their order. Finally get some attention and tell the worker that I called in an order. She confirms what I had ordered over the phone. I wait around for *another* 10-15 minutes and finally get the food. No explanation - no apology. I gave it 4 stars because the food itself was great but the service or lack thereof was barely 2 stars being honest. If they were totally slammed - I get it. This was not the case. Will probably give it one more try because it was delicious but if the service is as lackluster as today that'll be it for me.“
“Hands down the best burrito and taco place around in the SODO/ Georgetown area, and probably the better part of the greater Seattle metro area. Numerous meat options in a variety of service choices. Have yet to be disappointed. And if you need a horchata fix, this is your place. Giant glass full of great horchata at a good price.“
“I wish I could give more stars, their flautas are unbelievable! I moved up from San Diego a year ago and I've been so bummed with the lack of good mexican food around here, I'd put Sophies flautas and that salsa up against just about any hole in the wall spot in SD. If you like Mexican food come here!“
“Delicioso! I'm always hesitant to try Mexican food in Seattle but this place is pretty good. The tortillas are always fresh and paired well with the tacos. I definitely recommend the cesar salad (it was created in Tijuana, MX for folks who think it's a random menu item). The elote is delicious and the baja fish tacos are my favorite.“
“Carnitas and goat tacos were quite tasty, moist and melted in your mouth.Hot sauce was maybe a 4/10 (not really spicy at all), but flavor is good for both the red “hot” and green mild. Guacamole also very very mild. Good, but lacking spice. It was the first hot sunny day and so many people were there, but the wait was only about 15 minutes and they have an excellent texture system that allows you to take a walk while waiting.Servers and bathroom state were overwhelmed a bit by quantity of visitors. Will return to see if they get that figured out.“
“FINALLY. These are the closest to Californian-Mexican street tacos that I have tried to date. Meat. Onions. Cilantro. DONE. Nada más -- son perfectos! I always prefer lime but they have that covered too! So as of today, best tacos in Seattle! The mulitas and nachos were also fantastic. We came for Happy Hour which makes the prices more appealing. Technically this is located inside of Provisions, which has a unique vibe - super dark, big elegant type couches and furniture everywhere for groups to sit at. The music is WAY too loud to have a decent conversation but that's not the tacos' fault We came early evening so the place wasn't very full and we received our food quickly. We will definitely order from here when we want tacos to-go!! GO HERE“
“Tasty tacos! I got two "Tacos Gobernador" which are shrimp and cheese tacos. I wasn't sure how the combination would taste but it was pretty good. Don't let the look fool you they were flavorful, especially with a little chipotle sauce. They have a nice variety of appetizers, meals, and desserts! It's a casual small family ran restaurant, with nice customer service, and a welcoming vibe.“
“I recently visited Tacos Chukis, and it was so yummy! The baby burrito with steak was flavorful and satisfying, and the pollo quesadilla was equally delicious. The fresh ingredients and friendly service made this spot a standout. Highly recommended! There's limited seating and only street parking so plan ahead!“
“Really tasty! Ingredients are super high quality and I love the sauces. It has a limited menu that's different from the taco trucks in the area.Very easy to get a filling meal for cheap if you mix and match. A mulita and a quesidilla will be about $10 and if you add a taco that's still under $15 and you get to try all their meats. They have 2 different vegetarian fillings as well.Cute funky vibe and the food always comes out fast.“
“El oasis has the best Mexican food I’ve had in Seattle. The barbacoa tacos and Birria tacos are insanely good. The burrito is excellent. The tortas are bomb. The Jamaica drink is so good tooI have no reason to eat at any other Mexican restaurant or taco truck in Seattle if it’s not el oasis. You’re missing out if you haven’t experienced the food here!!“
“This place is a pretty good taco spot, it has 99 cent tacos on Tuesdays for certain meats. I got 5 chicken and a tamarindo drink and it was delicious. The creamy chipotle orange sauce is good but is very spicy to be cautious putting it on your food.“
“Leaving this review just to inform potentially interested customers--will delete it promptly if the owners inform me they are still in operation.I have lived right down the street from this truck for a few months and have never seen them open. If they are still in operation, they appear to have downgraded from the big new truck pictured in more recent reviews to the small red truck I always pass by that is perpetually closed.“
“It's official, Chilolos is my new favorite lunch spot in Georgetown. I was pointed to the Carnitas burrito by other reviewers, and I'll probably branch out at some point, but it might be a while because this is one damn good burrito. Its beauty begins with the strip of griddled crispy cheese that lines the folded side of the tortilla - a true stroke of genius. It continues with everything inside: the delicious and tender carnitas, the well cooked potatoes, fresh lettuce, beans, sour cream and cilantro, all in perfect proportion, and all distributed evenly throughout the burrito. Top it off with their absolute world class salsa, and you've got a blue ribbon lunch right there. $13, or $15 with chips and a soda, seems perfectly fair to me. Chilolos, never change - I love you, and I will be back. Like probably on a weekly basis.See ya soon.“
“What an awesome discovery this was. Now in a food truck next to the liquor store this is my go-to Mexican spot. Ordering is simple at the truck or online at the website. The staff is amazing, friendly and knowledgeable plus kudos for offering my pooch a treat. I tried the chicken and steak street tacos, a side of refried beans and wet burrito. All were excellent! My sweet spot is flavor from purity and I was in heaven The refried beans were superb with little if any salt added just pure joy The street tacos were meat and cilantro in a delicious tortilla yum. Will be back soon and highly recommendParking: Parking lot next to liquor storeWheelchair accessibility: Food truck is in the parking lot“
“The owner was super friendly and VERY welcoming. He made us feel right at home. They not only sell genuine Mexican groceries and other products, they also sell the best, authentic Mexican food I have ever eaten. I had the Chile rellenos served with a side of amazing pinto beans and rice. I also had a guava pulp juice and a mango slushy served with tamarindo candy straw (TAJÍN included)! We will be back!!“
“Wow! Just came here for the first time despite moving to neighborhood a year ago. The question I'm left asking myself is WHY have I not been here before? I had two fresh juices, one blend with beets, one with orange and carrots. So so good The salsa bar was impeccably done up and the two I tried were so yummy I'll be back soon“
“[ Review is for catering order ] Our team event was scheduled on a Tuesday, which clearly meant Taco Tuesday was needed. We landed on Blue Water Taco Grill as it was one of the closer options on EZCaterer, and one of our other teams gave it a glowing review. We ordered their Coastal Taco Bar which came with: flour and corn tortillas, grilled tofu & veggies, chicken (spicy, which wasn't advertised but our team really enjoyed it), carne asada (also a crowd favorite), guacamole, and a mix of their salsas (mild green tomatillo, medium chunky). We also ordered extra chips and salsa, and churros. The churros were generously large, and a fun "to go" dessert for our team. Despite the large order, the order arrived on time with no issue delivering to our Reception area. The food was well packaged and everything was labeled as requested. The food was still very hot, and the portions were amazing. Blue Water Taco Grill has been added to our catering rotation.“
“I got a burrito to-go from rojo's at the arc'teryx event at VW and it was SO delicious and filling! I have been sorely missing good vegan Mexican food in Seattle, so it was such a joy to find Rojo's. But vegan or not, it's a must try - the plant-based meats are flavorful and hearty! I also got to chat with the owner who was so cool and down to earth. Looking forward to checking out the Pioneer Square restaurant soon!“
