“We went to Skal on a Thursday night before catching a show - it wasn’t too busy and there was no wait to order food. It is counter service and they bring food to table.

We ordered a hot dog, cod pop corn and fries, and wings. The hot dog was a skinny foot long, it was very good, the fries were amazing! The wings were boring plain wings, wouldn’t get them again.

The restaurant itself is cool looking, very Viking inspired. Next time we’ll get the huge pretzel!“

“Unique old garage atmosphere, dark and dirty with somewhat community seating. There are many beers on tap which super fun at order time. The staff is happy to pour samples and is prepared for the asks. However, the samples are so small that they are worthless unless you are a tasting pro or just trying to distinguish between a stout and a Pilsner. If your whole existance is varieties in tap beers, samples are part of the business. Embrace that and ensure customer experience is part of the package. Every time I get samples, I get the rushed feeling. Here's your 2 drop sample, suck it down and give me your order. I come here for the ~40 beer tap selection; it's part of the fun! Sampling adds to the experience and prices are high enough that I want to enjoy my beers.

I like dinner with my beers and the food trucks are mostly good, but one is always limited to that one truck. The location doesn't lend itself to other options.“

“I’ve been craving a good gukbap for many months and finally got a chance to go for my birthday, which happened to be a gloomy day. I got the Grandpa’s Pig Bone Soup, which is basically just a bowl of goodness. It comes with meat and veggies in a thick broth. I asked for extra spice on the side, which is perfect if you love a kick. Also, add some more salt to taste if needed. My family also ordered meat for kbbq, which is good as well. We went on a weekday in the afternoon after lunch and before dinner time, so there was no one else in the restaurant and we were fully able to enjoy ourselves ? For me, I would most definitely go back for the gukbap and to try their other dishes on the menu!!“

“By far the best pizza in Seattle. Super chill staff and vibes. The Za is incredible. Some unique creations as well. Such a great variety of beers local and foreign on tap and bottled. They probably have the only outdoor seating in Ballard which catches the late afternoon sunlight. Occasionally they’ll do small concerts and improv events. Also they LOVE dogs! “One of our friends described this very Seattle brewery perfectly: You see people playing D&D while the Seahawks are playing. Beers are brewed in house! We love playing games and hanging out here. Friendly staff and fantastic atmosphere. I mean, how can you beat hanging out, drinking and playing board games while watching sci-fi films / Seahawks games? Strangely to some, the most impressive aspect is the restroom setup. Gender neutral rooms with tampons/pads on hand for those who need them. For those who don't typically see this setup, it's kind of a big deal and helps this brewery stand out.“

“Special Brews is a gem for beer enthusiasts! This bottle/taproom offers an impressive selection of beers to either take home or enjoy in their cozy sit-down area. The variety on tap is fantastic, and there's always something new and exciting to try.

One thing to note is the $2 corking fee for drinking a can in the bar area, but with the incredible selection available, it's a small price to pay. The bartenders here are super nice and always ready to help you find the perfect beer.

I'll definitely be back to explore more of their offerings and take some home as well. If you're in Lynnwood and love beer, Special Brews is a must-visit!“

They have GF Macrina Ancient Grains Bread! I haven’t had an actual
Sandwich in a restaurant in ages, but today, it was not only GF it was delicious! So good I ordered one to take home.

Parking: Be sure to plan to walk a little. It’s difficult to tell when parking will be available near the restaurant. We don’t mind walking a few blocks. It’s worth every step.“

They also offer a decent selection of beers on tap, making it a great spot for beer enthusiasts. Plus, it’s a dog-friendly place, which is a huge bonus.
