“The smoothies are great, with quality ingredients and no sugary fillers. It's clear a lot of intention and care went into the whole menu, but the atmosphere is why I go as often as I do. It's an oasis of serenity. If you're anxious or easily overstimulated and have $12 to spare, this is the place for you.Dietary restrictions: Mostly plant-based menuWheelchair accessibility: If you enter from Shilshole, the shop is wheelchair accessible“
“Very quaint store. They had a lot of cute Christmas ornaments and decorations. They had scarves, kitchen products, candles, and many other items. They had a lot of inventory on hand but it was all kept neat and organized.Unfortunately, we didn’t get a chance to try the offerings from the cafe.Restroom was very clean!“
“Amazing neighborhood gem. The staff are great and real friendly. Impressive beer selection that is constantly rotating, too. The sandwiches are really good with a lot of variety, worth trying lots of different ones out as they are all quality and you'll be rewarded with new favorites.“
“The onigiri is in the cooler. Ideally let it warm up/thaw before peeling the cover and eating.Their pastries like their croissants are really well made delicious and crispy and chewy and all the right ways. The berries and fruit in the danishes are very fresh and really delicious.Best of all are the Japanese mochi-like hand made desserts -- made by Tokara near by -- that you might catch if you are early enough. As far as I know I think it's the only Japanese dessert maker left in Seattle. In the photo are the Uguisu which are made of soft silky mochi wrappes, chunky Adzuki bean paste. Sprinkled with roast soy powder. Rice flour, sugar, mizuame candy.Vegetarian options: Most of the pastries are vegetarian. They do have the one savory option with onion.“
“We've been wanting to try this place, but we needed to plan ahead to make reservations. Very glad we did! I ordered the cardamom granola, my husband ordered the crab benedict, and my friend ordered the shakshuka, plus smashed potatoes for the table. We were all very happy with our orders! So so “
“One of the most unique and delicious places to grab a bite!! The Icelandic yogurt is very creamy and delicious with the berries and granolas. The danish hotdog is high quality and tender with dill infused mustard and pickles. Def worth trying the tasty Nordic foods!“
“This is our go to neighborhood cafe. The staff is great. The baked goods and coffee are top notch. They also sell and make drinks with Lighthouse Coffee which is my favorite Seattle roaster. If you live or are visiting do yourself a favor and stop in for a cup.“
“I love this little private cafe place. We had an avocado and toast with poached egg and added some prosciutto to it. It was amazing. My husband had a breakfast burrito that was great, coffee and chocolate banana bread. Service was great, and the place is cozy .“
“TLDR; beautiful airy cafe for a relaxed brunch (as long as you’re ok ordering at the counter and busing your own table). Decent food too.Overall the food was quite good. We ordered a round of cappuccinos (not the best) with wild mushroom toast and Turkish eggs. Everything did have a hint of a sour taste, but was still pretty good. I personally thought the mushroom toast was a bit off but my husband loved it - so this could just be a taste preference.“
“Bar Sabine was pretty packed on a Saturday night, and after having dinner at Asadero nearby, we decided to hit up Bar Sabine for some late-night cocktails. Even though we were the only ones waiting in line, we waited outside in the chilly Seattle night for 30 to 40 minutes. The wait made more sense once we stepped inside. The interior had tributes to Lord of the Rings everywhere from the decorations to the names of the drinks. They even had all three Lord of the Rings movies playing on different TVs at the same time. Although I do not know much about the franchise, I really appreciated the attention to detail and the tenacity to stick to the theme. The cool glassware matching the theme added to the vibe - like the White Hand of Saruman served in a black glass with a white handprint, or the Mirror of Galadriel with a mirror on a wooden box. I didn't check out the full menu, but I noticed other drinks coming in unique glasses, like barrels or mid-century mugs.I tried the Mirror of Galadriel, the White Hand of Saruman, and the Broken Sword of Narsil. The Broken Sword of Narsil was the standout, with fenugreek cream making it unique. It was so good that I had to ask the bartender for more cream. The White Hand of Saruman was on the sweet side, probably thanks to the condensed milk. The Mirror of Galadriel, with lavender gin and strawberry sake, packed more of a punch than I expected. All in all, the experience was worth the wait, and I'll definitely be back at Bar Sabine.“
“Chocolate beverages galore! Made with REAL chocolate! My favorites are the special mochas with additional flavors like peanut butter, lavender, cinnamon, etc. Their hand-made truffles make the best gifts!Service can sometimes be quite slow as there is often only 1 barista at a time. However, the staff are usually good-natured and the drinks are always tasty, so it's worth the wait. Great place for working on one's computer (unless you show up when a noisy meeting group like mine is there, in which case, bring headphones!).Overall a delightful neighborhood hangout!Dietary restrictions: Gluten-free truffles!“
“This cafe is wonderful! The coffee was strong and delicious. We had the feta sandwich, hummus toast, baklava and the macaroon. Everything was so delicious. The prices are really reasonable too for what you get. The owners are really sweet and so friendly. I’m so glad my daughter and I found this gem of a coffee shop and cafe. We will definitely be back the next time we are in town!“
“Crown hill is an interesting neighborhood that intersects with greenwood and Ballard. Those neighbors have distinct identities and therefore are a bit easier to find expected cultural interactions. Turtle coffee provides a quiet and kind space that gives pause to most of the less approachable spaces within north Seattle. The barista was patient with her greeting and presented all of her establishments options with an efficient kindness. I don’t know if I’ll have many reasons to come to consider crown hill, but if I ever want to spend time at a coffee shop, and enjoy a place for coffee standards, atmosphere and comfort in a building. Turtle coffee will be the space for me. I’m glad I have a new home for all my coffee needs. The right place for someone to feel okay coming out of their shell“
“Honestly that was the best Sausage Pastry I've ever had. ?Parking: 10 parking spaces available, more across the street.Kid-friendliness: It's a Very Friendly/Family Atmosphere.Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair access to the the sides.“
“Cute brunch spot in a house. Very attentive and friendly service, seating was cozy and comfortable. It's Da Bomb BFast Burrito - it's exactly as described, but the refried beans tasted kind of like curry? Burrito filling could've used a bit more salt or some hot sauce in addition to the salsa.Persian French Toast - the syrup was really tart, almost unpleasantly tart. The toast was a bit plain otherwise. Ham was good.Overall pretty good, would like to come back to try cinnamon rolls!“
“I cannot remember every piece of bread I have ever had in my lifetime, but I certainly remember Coyle's Focaccia bread weekly or daily or routinely, well does it matter it is amazing! The focaccia bread they make is wonderful in every way, texture, chewiness, flavor, quality, and crunch. I love how this bread surfaces every mouth texture to the forefront for a truly unforgettable bread. Here is a list of must tries from Coyle's menu.Any Scone.Cakes, any of them.Cream Filled Coconut puffs – this is probably, in my humble opinion, the best tasting thing on the menu. But I am midwestern. The coffee is great, especially since they are not a coffee shop by trade. The last thing I recommend is to please go to any of their events where they are offering something new to try. It will feel personalized and made for you. Beautiful bakery and I will see y'all next time.“
“Got the chicken vermicelli bowl for to-go!WOW, I really didn't expect that!!! Quick service and amazing food!!I was so surprised by that location because you wouldn't expect the great food. Very fresh and delicious! Now, I just wanna come back here to try more.Casual ambiance with friendly service.“
“We love this spot for any meal, although for most folks the food menu is probably more satisfying for lunch than for dinner. Our favorite, however, is brunch! We definitely think it's a slept-on brunch spot, probably because people don't really think of a wine bar as a place to go for breakfast food. They have some delicious offerings, though, with a more thoughtful "foodie" lean to the menu — we prefer theirs to any other brunch places in the neighborhood. The shakshouka, eggs benedict, hash, and avocado toast have all been great. Friendly service, cozy vibes, and of course a great place to pick up a bottle of wine to take home after your meal.“
“I can't speak for the flavor but these are some of the most gorgeous cupcakes! I love that the frosting is not overwhelming like on most cupcakes. The woman working behind the counter was friendly and very helpful! 10/10 would come back again!“
“Went here on a busy Sunday afternoon with my partner for some brunch and the both of us were thoroughly impressed! The service was freaking fantastic, our waitress was super personable and fun to chat with. The food tasted amazing. I got the lemon curd crepes and my partner got one of the skillets, both of which tasted great. Our food got to our table in such a timely manner (which was unexpected for a Sunday morning/afternoon!) and we kept ourselves busy snacking on the fresh, warm bread that they courteously serve as well as the coffee cakes which they seem to have on rotation. Anyway, if you’re in the area (Edmonds is lovely) and you’re looking for great breakfast or lunch, this is the place to go :)“
“I tried out this cafe to do some work as they allow dogs. The breakfast sandwich made on a fresh dense scone is amazing. The thing that really brought me back is the service. Every employee that I have met has been incredibly kind and shows so much love to my dog. They really seem to enjoy being there and it shows!“
“A really cute cafe with delicious food and a convenient drive thru! My biscuit breakfast sandwich was amazing, the biscuit was buttery and didn’t fall apart at all! Their cold brew was also very good and not bitter or too acidic. Their staff was so friendly and offered recommendations in the “
“This was my home away from home while my daughter was 1-2 before Covid started. They have amazing food and coffee and are so kind. I would go to the kids play area and chill and read while my daughter played quietly by herself.During Covid I made it my life mission to keep this place afloat. They have a drive through so almost every day on my way to work, I'd drive up and get a quad-shot mocha and a sausage bagel sandwich.I would share their business on the Ballard Facebook page like every other week, just reminding people they did not need to wait in line at Starbucks, just go down a few blocks and support a local business. The owner is a nice Asian lady and is SO kind and sweet. We would chat a bit after I had been going for quite some time. They did have a difficult time staying open during Covid but were able to be the small business support from the gov.I miss this place the most having moved to Oregon two years ago.Parking: Small lot of about seven spaces, don't park on the other side as it belongs to the other business.Kid-friendliness: Small kids room with a few buckets of toys.“
“I have been a big fan of rolling bay cafe for awhile! The food/coffee is fantastic! However the customer service of all the employees takes the experience to another level!!! Everyone is so friendly! Don't take my word for it. Go into rolling bay cafe and give it a try for yourself! I'm sure from the first visit you will love it just as much as I do! To everyone at the cafe: keep up the amazing work!“
“Seattle's best coffee. Cafe Bambino has the best coffee period. This place is a true hidden gem. Highly recommended for the great drinks, service, and merchandise. The staff is friendly and helpful. Cozy seating is outside but covered. If you want great coffee, go here.“
“La copaIf you are in the area and don't stop here, you are missing out!!! A hidden gem in Ballard that you won't want to miss. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with a cozy, welcoming atmosphere that will make you feel right at home. The food is simply amazing, with a variety of dishes that are both flavorful and beautifully presented. From their coffee and pastries to their amazing sandwiches. The ingredients are always fresh and the portions are generous, so you'll definitely leave feeling satisfied. Excellent dining experience.“
“My go to French bakery in the North Seattle area.Everything is made from scratch and with such a beautiful balance of flavors and tenures. Never too sweet and always flakey to perfection.Their pastries not only look great, but taste even better. They have classics and new inspirations to try each time you go.The espresso is good, don't expect the fancy decore on top but flavor is good quality.Seating is very limited and usually crowded especially on the weekend. If you do find a seat, be curtious and bus your own table so others can sit.Always enjoy coming here by myself or with family and friends. Enjoy!“
“This is a must visit place. As you walk in you are greeted by friendly staff and the great smell of baked goods. The interior decor is wonderful. The menu hosts a very good selection of tasty items at a great price. The Biscuits & Gravy (with sausage) is THE BEST that I have ever had (East & West Coast, US). I will return for more visits to try more tasty items.“
“We found this joint while driving by and stopped to get some brunch. I took a single blue berry pancake and from their lunch menu I got The hot Italian. The sandwich was pretty good and came with a side of their roasted potatoes which was good as well. Will definitely recommend this one. The pancakes I felt could do a pinch of salt more but great portion size overall. My wife got the garden omelet with a side of potatoes and a scone. That was okay, the potatoes were pretty good.“
“The kind of coffee shop every neighborhood wished they had. Clean, excellent staff and great americanos. I like their warm breakfast items too. Plenty of seating, super close to the top of the Golden Gardens stairs so if you're so inclined, go get some steps!“
“Caffe Umbria is one of the best coffee chains in Seattle. The Ballard location has an awesome staff that is equally good at the register, making and delivering drinks to your table. Whether the line is out the door or you are the only one in line, their service is outstanding. The coffee is consistently the best.“
“The food was incredible. I had a BLT Chicken Sandwich. The fries were crispy and delicious, the chicken was tender and juicy, and the bacon was crisp but still easy to bite. Tomatoes added flavor but didn't water down the sandwich (an issue afflictibg many lesser BLTs).Highly recommend if you are in the area.“
“Really liked this place. Serve was extremely busy but super nice and got everything done without making any mistakes. My only downside was how loud it was because of two women allowing their kids to stomp and jump and run around while I was trying to do some online work. The room echos pretty bad which isn’t great, especially if you have a group using the large table in the back. But I did enjoy the coffee and sandwich I had.“
“Grounded has been a go to for me & my loved ones for years. They are always quick to make our drinks & they’re always made well as well as the people that work there always being so friendly! Makes your day!! If in the Edmonds area I recommend to stop by here.“
“Awesome and under advertised breakfast restaurant. Will not come up anywhere unless you look on the Clearwater website. Nice menu and a really friendly place to eat ?. Good luck with a breakfast thats better. Denny's in Poulsbo is ok and good luck finding a place open anytime on Bainbridge. Finally found a place you can count on being there for breakfast in this area.“
“Must have their Salmon chowder!!! It's delicious, fish and chips are also good! Keep it in mind that there are 3 other restaurants in the Casino for other sorts of food. Consistently good food and friendly service always! Keep up the amazing work ?“
