“I am an aficionado of coffeeshops - and this little slice of heaven ranks up with European coffeehouses I have been to full of a community feel, cozy charm and friendly baristas. The only downside is pretty much everybody in the area knows about it, too. So you may not get a seat at the more busy times. But keep trying - it is worth many repeated attempts!“

“Caffe Cocina ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ If you are visiting Poulsbo, Washington and are in need of a caffeine fix, be sure to check out Caffe Cocina. The original location is on Finn Hill and has a drive-through. The downtown location opened in April 2023. When I’m traveling, I like to try new coffee shops. I liked Caffe Cocina so much that I visited it three times in a row. That’s a first! Caffe Cocina has a beautiful patio, but I loved the combination of the dark paint and warm wood that make the interior so cozy and relaxing. I was traveling and really missing my two cats, so I was excited to see that they were playing footage from Friends of Felines Cat Rescue, located in Defiance, Ohio. I was told that several of the store employees are big cat lovers too. I love that they roast their own coffee beans. In addition to having a great coffee menu with creative seasonal drinks, they also have a wonderful café menu. Caffe Cocina partners with local farmers for their produce and food options to provide a farm to table experience. They have a kitchen that they prepare all of our goods and pastries in, and they use their own recipes. I didn’t get anything from the café this trip, but I’ll be sure to do so the next time I’m in town. The first time I visited, I ordered a 16 ounce Pumpkin Spice Latte. Caffe Cocina makes their own pumpkin spice latte sauce from scratch. It was excellent! The second time I visited, I ordered a 16 ounce Harvest Moon Latte, which is Honey Caramel Pecan, topped with Cinnamon and Honey. It was an excellent latte, though a bit too honey forward for my taste. The third time I visited, I drove through the Finn Hill location. I was excited to learn they had Eggnog Lattes. However, I usually order my coffee drinks, extra hot, no foam, and the barista told me the extra hot might be an issue unless I cut the eggnog with milk. It was a little too much for me to wrap my head around at that moment, so I pivoted and ordered a Mocha instead. I believe they use Ghirardelli chocolate, which is my favorite for mochas. It was excellent! I’ve been visiting Kitsap County at least twice a year since 1990. I’ve tried a lot of coffee shops over the years. Caffe Cocina is one of my favorites! I’ll be back. 😊 Highly Recommended!!!“

“Visited PGGS&C for lunch on a busy Saturday before seeing a show across the street. There was a long line of people waiting to order. But, everyone was patient and the cafe employees were really on top of things. Working hard and efficiently, while staying upbeat and friendly. We went back for ice cream several hours later and two of the same staff were still there! They must have been beat, but they were as friendly as before and continued serving customers quickly and kindly. I was so impressed! The food and ice cream were great too!“

“I love the atmosphere of this establishment. Patina shiplap siding surrounds the three of the interior walls. Hemlock car decking is angled overhead at a forty-five to support the vaulted ceiling and the floor of the second story. Windows are along the entire street side to provide light and scenic beauty from Lynnwood itself. The hardwood flooring - Douglas fir, I believe - is quaint and warm, not fancy but very effective. There is a multitude of local events, fundraisers, and business prospects stuck to every square inch of the bulletin boards to inform the public. Laid back art lines and fills close to every open space on every wall making a cozy ambiance.
Upon entering, I asked the apprentice bartender to make me a drink. I usually partake of cider or a gin and pineapple but the environment I was in necessitated a change. I asked him to make me a dry and bitter beverage; he thought for a moment, peeled a lemon, dipped a long spoon in a cherry jar, and put the largest ice cube I have ever seen in the glass. I'm not certain of the make up of the drink exactly so I dare not blaspheme. But he told me it was his own creation, he called it "The Fallout."
The staff at the marketplace are both cordial and efficient striving to serve every demand of their needy customers. As an example of they're hospitality, my mother joined our family - my uncle, wife and me - for some late night trivia on Wednesday night. She had been working as an able-bodied seaman aboard the Chimacum WSF all day. We were informed that the kitchen was closed for the night but as it happened the lead bartender approached my mother to let her know that they still had the ability to make flatbread. That night all of us were satiated by a warm meal - with premium ingredients - as well as entertained by the trivia.
I have never felt more welcome in a bar on Bainbridge as I felt on Wednesday night.
Last night, my wife and I returned as we were told there would be an open mic that night. Definitely less people than the night before but still pleasantly crowded. I was permitted to use an instrument provided by one of the locals. I was applauded for, shown smiles and even cheered for - it probably helped that there was a very close football game on in the background, but nonetheless. I felt a part of the community, yet again.
Thank you, Marketplace! I shall return and I know that I can expect to have a great night.“

BARNES & NOBLE CAFE Cafe • $$
Unnamed Road, 10315 Silverdale Way NW, Silverdale - 5.82 miles

“I love the vibe at BN. It’s part book store and part cafe. I’m thrilled to be able to order a title for pick up if I’m in a rush or linger with a book and hot coffee and desert. The staff is warm and friendly without being too pushy or fake retail. You can tell they appreciate books. The only minor tweak is that the Starbucks Cafe is not corporate owned. Only reason I mentioned it is that BN cannot redeem Sbux points. But that’s a minor issue. Overall Grade A.“
