“#mylocalseattlehangout It’s important for me to feel at home somewhere, regardless of where I am… to call it my favorite “go-to”. (My home-base is Maryland). These guys really bring some comfort to my stay at Mercer Island. Thank you Jason, for creating a “Crawlspace” for this weary traveler/healthcare worker. I found a place where I can just relax every week (maybe twice a week), and help with some of my homesickness. The food always hits the spot, no matter what I’ve ordered. And the drinks… good stuff!!! My favorites are the spam musibi, the seared ahi, and the japchae with bulgogi! They even have their jokes for me already, and know that I don’t like spicy. “I went to Homegrown yesterday and, as always, had a great experience. The staff were so kind, friendly, and welcoming. The atmosphere was warm and relaxed.
Their food is always fresh and delicious — you can really taste the quality in every bite. I especially love their matcha chicken salad. It's one of my favorite spots for a healthy and tasty breakfast or lunch. Highly recommend! 🌿🥪✨“

We placed a catering order for a 15-person lunch to be delivered at 10:30am to our offices. I received a call from the Uber driver at 10:20 saying he had our order but was lost. I gave him the correct address and he hung up. A few minutes later I received notification that our delivery was cancelled. Apparently the Uber driver had a family to feed and just decide to take the food home with him. I called Mendocino Farms in a little panic since I had 12 hungry people in my office for a lunch meeting. Fortunately the team at MF did a rush remake of our order and two MF employees delivered our order 30 minutes later. Thank you for saving the day on a mistake that was not yours.“

“Used to work nearby and wanted to see if it was as good as I remembered. Not gonna lie, I think it’s gotten even better! Felt like traveling back in time getting a chicken shawarma, and the garlic sauce took it a step beyond. It was late and there was barely any place to sit, so that hasn’t changed, but overall still a top tier place to get a quick bite in the U-district anytime of day!“

My husband and I stopped here on our way to get groceries and had the horchata latte and the churro latte. Both were really good and not too sweet. We loved that the drinks came with a little piece of cake on the lid. We had their breakfast sandwiches on bagels and they were delicious. There was the option to add avocado, tomato, and/or lettuce and we both added all of that. The salsa verde is super good too.

“Made a reservation with Nick on the phone for 8 gals as part of a social club meet-up—he went above and beyond with a friendly demeanor to set us up in the private room. When a 9th person showed up (by my own error) the staff was more than accommodating. Nick also served us—seriously, what a nice owner! He and his staff took amazing care of us. Food was really good too! The half charcuterie was really nice portion for 1 and the hand cut fries were a tasty share. I also enjoyed the blackbean burger, though it’s a little messy, it tasted great. Nick also made some of us an off-menu mint lemonade ginger beer mocktail that was summery and refreshing. The atmosphere was busy and cheerful—will be visiting again!“

“Absolutely fire sushi spot. Fish tasted super fresh, rolls were packed and actually worth the price, and the presentation was clean. Staff was friendly and fast even when it got busy. The spicy tuna roll and salmon nigiri were probably some of the best I’ve had in a while. Atmosphere was chill, good music, and overall just a solid place to eat. Definitely coming back.“

“The pizzas were just awesome!!!
Ordered for a party… Tandoori paneer pizza, and cheese pizza - former was a hit with the grown-ups, and the kiddos loved the latter.
If you’ve ordered from CanAm before, these ones are on the same lines, but feel lighter, and just the right punch of flavor.
The only thing I’d suggest is to let the folks know of your spice level preference - the default spice levels on the indian pizzas maybe on slightly higher side, which I am sure they can adjust per your order.
Loved the fresh ingredients, freshly baked dough, just the right amount of cheese/spice blend, and on-time service.
Definitely ordering again when in Bellevue!“

“It’s a fixture of the neighborhood. You can go for a burger and beers to get the standard pub experience, but they also have much more than that. Their rotating menu is truly fantastic, from high end appetizers to fresh pasta to comfort food. It’s much higher quality food than I’d usually expect from a corner pub. I personally am not a fan of the live music because it makes it hard to have a conversation, so I prefer not to go on Fri/Sat evenings. But if you’re into that sort of thing it’s a good vibe.“

I think more could be done with the decor, and it was understaffed, but the food was AMAZING! I can see why it is so highly rated - the meat is perfectly bribed or seasoned or whatever magic they do to make it tender and infused with flavor throughout. We had the Gyro plate and the Beef Shwarma plate along with the Baba Ganoush - each was excellent in their own way, and the garlic dressing in the accompanying salads is to kill for. With team members who are gluten-free, it was crucial to find a restaurant that offered more than just a basic salad. A Stir exceeded expectations with a full menu of creative, nutritious dishes and an extensive selection of wine, cider, and gluten-free beer. On the morning of our reservation, I received a thoughtful email from the executive chef, Ton, with personalized recommendations. This added such a nice touch and made the experience even smoother for my team. Our reservation was at 6:15, and when my team arrived, dishes were freshly served, hot, and ready—a perfect way to unwind after a long few days at the conference. Dining at A Stir was the ideal way to close out their weekend, and I can’t wait to visit on my next trip to Seattle to experience it myself.
