"I'll admit, I've walked past the Pub many times, thinking it looked a bit... sketchy** But, boy, was I wrong! The moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with warm smiles from the lovely staff - and I mean lovely in every sense of the word...

The service was top-notch, attentive, and friendly. My waitress very knowledgeable and made excellent recommendations. But what truly impressed me was the genuine hospitality. It felt like they actually cared about dining experience.

And the food? Absolutely delicious! Although < if you don't have the RYE for the pastrami sandwich it's ok that butter w condiments did the trick 😉> also who know my cocktail was little cheaper then my beer 😆..

I'm thrilled to have been proven wrong about this hidden gem. Don't let appearances fool you - Pub is a must-visit. Great food, beautiful atmosphere, and stunning staff I totally forgot to take Pictures coz my servicer tho.. lol

“Proud to support a classic, iconic, old school pub! Home cooked meals at a reasonable price. Popped in for a quick coffee and lunch, even sat down with Barisa & the house keeping lady and had an awesome chat. Thanks for the hospitality!“

“Not from here, yet I’m very impressed by their prices on beer. A 600ml beer is $6 - $8 which is nice on the pocket. The food here is good too. It isn’t renovated and not the most cozy place, but it’s the best place I’ve gone for a beer in a long time. Much better than the Rose and Crown and the Landing. The regulars seemed quite nice as well, along with the kind and honest staff. This place is a solid 8/10!!!“

I was informed that The Buck & Ear will be closing shortly and transitioning into a hotel, expanding the room availability for the Steveston Hotel next door. While it’s sad to see a local landmark like this go, the change could bring more lodging options for visitors looking to stay in the Steveston area.

For now, if you’re looking to experience a slice of Steveston history, you might want to drop by while it’s still around. It’s not the place to go if you’re looking for a fancy dining experience, but if you’re here for the vibe and community feel, it still delivers in its own way.“
