“I’ve been coming to this location for over 30 years. I haven’t been for a few years and my kid was really craving teriyaki so we made the drive to Puyallup for a little nostalgia.
I don’t think this place is managed by the same people. The place looks pretty much the same but possibly under new management.
The older woman who worked here for many years was not here. I didn’t recognize any of the usual staff. There is another woman behind the counter tonight. She was busy getting things done. She is loud and capable, but could rub people the wrong way. She means well, but I think things get lost in translation. For example this evening a customer ordered food through DoorDash and came to pick it up. The woman behind the counter tried to tell the customer it would be $20 cheaper to order through the store directly instead of paying for in-store pickup through DoorDash. The woman behind the counter came across loud and bossy. The customer left upset and obviously confused. The woman behind the counter said she just wanted her customers to not pay extra money.
The food tonight is different than it had been all the years I’ve known this place too. Everything is saucy, even the teriyaki. Still has a good taste and good sized portions, just different. The woman behind the counter was juggling online orders, phone orders, walk-in orders and table service. Our drinks were refilled twice and our food came out quick and hot. Bathrooms were clean, restaurant was clean.
Tonight is Thursday and there was a lot of business there.“

“I ordered catering for a birthday party and the food became a conversation starter. Tamu foods did an excellent job. Everything on my menu was so scrumptious. We also ordered the tempura calamari and Agedashi with a side of Japanese beer (large bottle of Asahi). The wait staff are attentive and checked on us multiple times. “We are just passing through Auburn and needed something that was close to the hotel. We are so happy that we chose to order from here. Everything in our order was fresh and tasted amazing. The dinner for two was enough to feed us that night and for lunch the next day, with some left overs still. Would recommend a million times over. The only disappointing thing is we don't live close enough to eat here regularly.

“Stopped by for a quick lunch with a coworker and had a great experience. The lobby is on the smaller side, but the service was excellent and everything came out quickly.

The bento box combos were surprisingly filling and a great value for the amount of food included. I especially loved the California rolls, and the teriyaki was flavorful and cooked perfectly.

“Walking into Modoo 3 Teriyaki, the first thing that hits you is how clean, neat, and organized the restaurant feels. It sets the tone immediately. You know you’re in a place that takes pride in both presentation and hospitality.

The customer service is outstanding. Staff are friendly, quick, and genuinely welcoming, which makes the whole experience feel easy and comfortable.

What really surprised me is the huge menu. This isn’t just a teriyaki spot. They offer everything from Thai dishes to Japanese sushi, Chinese favorites, classic teriyaki plates, and even bubble tea. It’s the kind of menu where everyone can find something they love.

I tried the Mango Bubble Tea. The flavor wasn’t overpowering, but it was refreshing and enjoyable making it a solid choice if you like something balanced rather than super sweet.

But the real star of the meal was the orange chicken. Big chunks, great texture, and a bright, bold orange flavor that stands out. Honestly, it’s one of the best orange chickens I’ve had in a long time. The portion sizes are large, and the prices are very reasonable, especially considering the quality and variety.

The bad: So the spring rolls were an absolute disappointment.

(Please not the photo is was taken after the rolls sat out overnight so the lettuce is brown and wilted. That part is no fault of the restaurant. The roll was fresh upon pickup)

Per the photo I opened up the wrap and it appears that a bag of lettuce was used to create the wrap. So ultimately The wrap consist of a handful of bag lettuce (the kind with the purple cabbage and thinly sliced carrots), some rice noodles and about two shrimp.

There was absolutely no flavor. I’m guessing because the ingredients were not freshly cut as far as the vegetation. I’m used to having fresh cut carrots, cucumber and lettuce in a FRESH spring rolls. The roll was bland and unfortunately the sauce it came with was also underwhelming

On the other hand the GOOD:

We had to wait for the second meal to be made but it wasn't the end of the world. This is the only teriyaki place I have ever been to that didn't give you a little cup of teriyaki sauce to go with it, had I known that I would have ordered extra sauce for my hubby's rice . The food was hot and tasted fine, just a little dry!“
