“The food is great. We normally have a great experience, but last Friday we were in and my wife ordered her normal because she is extremely allergic to shellfish. The kitchen somehow switched the inside of my roll for my wife's roll. We alerted our server and the manager of the mistake and told them we needed to leave ASAP to get my wife her allergy medication and maybe the ER. They took take off the meal, made us pay for the appetizer and drinks. None of this was a quick process mind you. They asked my wife to follow up with them the next day. She did, and they said "thanks" we are going to give our kitchen staff more training. Great.....We were just short of going to the ER their mistake!“

“The dining experience is unlike anything in this little town of Bonney Lake so it was a very pleasant surprise. Great service. The care with which they present their dishes and the quality of the food is outstanding. You do pay more because of it though. I think it's worth it because now that there are so many sushi restaurants to choose from my husband and I find ourselves being more dissenting about the quality. A poor sushi experience stays with you (and not in a good way) forever but this particular restaurant has definitely delivered on quality. The place is small and cozy so plan ahead. I would not recommend for large groups. But definitely intimate for a romantic dinner for two.“

“Our favorite little ramen / Japanese restaurant in Puyallup. The waitresses are always super friendly and attentive. The restaurant is small and quaint but clean and comfortable. There is a small parking lot in the back and a few stalls in the front. Their black garlic ramen is always our favorite.Kid-friendliness: They have high chairs and offer little children's bowls and scissors for children to eat.“

“This is my favorite sushi restaurant. We’ve been coming here for 8 years now and the staff know us by name and by our usual orders. We celebrate birthdays here and enjoy casual dinners with friends. I have a lot of allergies, and they are great about helping me navigate what is safe for me on the menu.Dietary restrictions: I have pretty severe allergies and they’ve been great about helping guide me towards what is safe.Parking: Large parking lot shared with the rest of the shopping plaza. Always plenty of parking.Kid-friendliness: They are great with my daughter. We’ve been coming since she was a newborn and now she’s a wiggly toddler.“

“This was my first time coming here; we got our food to-go but will have to try dining in because the dining room was pristine, peaceful and had nice jazz music playing. The owner was kind and the food was very delicious. I highly recommend trying it and I will definitely be back.“

“I've been a customer here for more than 20 years, and I have never been disappointed by the food or the service. Their teriyaki sauce is sweet but not cloyingly so, and their katsu sauce is sharp and bright. Gyoza here are served fried, hot, and crispy. It's a small hole-in-the-wall place, but it is welcoming and inviting and is definitely worth the price.“

“Cozy little teriyaki shop. Drive by here all the time, but never stopped by. Glad I did! Great teriyaki and gyoza. The fountain drink dispenser was out of carbonation, but they have a ton of bottled drinks available in the reach-in fridge right next to it.Parking: It’s a busy area, so parking can be a little tight. But when we arrived, we were able to find a spot.“

“I have pad Thai and Thai fried rice and they both well seasoned. One thing that I love is drink packaging. I always have a hard time mixing Thai tea by just stirring with a straw so it is great to see that use a better quality plastics cup that well sealed and reusable so I can shake the cup without creating a mess.“

“It's a small place, pretty standard when you just walk in. Now, let me tell you why I thought it was great! I ordered teriyaki chicken breast with extra meat and no rice sub extra veggies, sauce on the side. My friend ordered the teriyaki chicken and katsu chicken combo. The food all came our right and pretty quickly. We ate there, and I was a little different to get all of our own supplies. The tables were clean and well maintained. They have a little bit nicer round chopstick and very small cups for water (4 oz). The house made hot sauce was amazing and my friend loved it as well. While we were there, it was pretty slow. We were the only table for a while. The family came out and ate together. I thought this was nice. We were self-sufficient, and I was nice to see a family eat together today when we are constantly being driven apart.I will be back for the great food and laid back chill vibes with a touch of family.“

“This place has really good teriyaki and it's actually at an affordable price most teriyaki places are outrageously priced this place it was $15 for me to get chicken teriyaki breasts and 2 egg roll and it was delicious teriyaki I think I've ever had. This place is a hidden gem go there you won't be disappointed.Parking: Right directly across the street from the Rite aid at 72nd and Pacific Ave“

“It's a good place the prices are different online for sure I don't know why they haven't updated but big portion and fast they have sauces up front as well and you know that one of the best parts of a teriyaki place is to put more of the sauce on it. Anyways wish they added more spice or made it more spicy but overall it's good place good yaki“

“This spot is great when you’re craving teriyaki! Everyone in there is so nice and helpful. The food was great, I ordered the Katsu chicken and I was surprised how much food came with the meal, especially for it not being that expensive. Great food and great service!“

“Was helping my guy shop for a car today and when it was all said and done, we were starving so wanted somewhere close and Sapporo sushi came up on Google. Its a cute little restaurant, lots of decor on the walls and the servers are really sweet and prompt with service. I don't really remember the name of the rolls, I remember one was a volcano roll and one had spicey crab on top which was absolutely phenomenal and another had eel. We got a tasty miso and side salad as well Hamaki as a starter which were fried egg rolls that were very crispy and tasty. Overall a very pleasant dining experience and amazing food, ill definitely be returning. Everything pictured was $71 before tip so it's also reasonably priced. If I had to nitpick one thing; the eel was pretty thick sliced which was awesome, but I'm hugely textural with foods and eel skin is not something I find very enjoyable on the palate. I removed the pieces of eel and peeled the skin off to avoid the slimy texture that accompanies eel skin. Other than that, everything was great.“

“This is a new favorite of ours. Customer service was great, atmosphere was calm and warm. The guy who made the sushi was super informative and invited us to ask questions and explore the menu. If you like avocado then I highly recommend the avocado bomb. I have never had anything like it before. It is my new favorite. High recommend this place!“
“I have been coming almost every week for the past several months. The folks that run the place are friendly and the food is pretty good - I almost always get the chicken teriyaki and gyoza combo. If there's any sort of issue (which is rare to begin with), they'll make it right. They make it easy and enjoyable to want to come back every week.“

“The BEST Fried Rice (w/ combo) I have ever had hands down!! Food is Always freshly made and the portions are well worth the price.. Definitely puts me in a food-coma every time LoL!! And customer service is great- for one person the cashier Lady who is always working does a great job of handling all Walk-in customers (including those who dine-in) + all Pickup customers. She handles the pressure with ease. Great hospitality!! The restaurant is pretty small but I always dine-in when I go after work. Most customers order To-Go. Overall I definitely highly recommend. “Best sushi in Puyallup!! I don't do yelp reviews often but I enjoyed my dinner so much that I had to give a great review. We got the 911, Playboy, New York and Rainbow rolls and they were all phenomenal. Our favorite was the 911. We also got the 15 pc yellowtail, salmon and tuna sashimi & nigiri and it was fresh and very flavorful. It melted in our mouths. I haven't had sushi that good in quite awhile. Another thing I love about this place is the service. The staff were very welcoming and attentive. The lady working was really sweet and gave my toddler a lollipop before we left and he was very happy. We will definitely be back!“

“I will say the quality of their sushi and sashimi are amazing. I had the Sushi & Sashimi Platter. It had 11 pieces total for 40$ which I will say is a little much. I have been to a few other places with similar quality fish and this is the first one where this type of platter was 40$. The food was delicious though and the staff while awkward were very kind. I didn't dine in but the atmosphere of the restaurant was pleasant while waiting though I do take off a star for no clear waiting area for pickups/takeout.“

“I had Honto Teriyaki cater an event for me. It was for over 40 people. I chose a wide variety of food. It was excellent! Food was hot, tasty, and everyone had seconds. It was very reasonably priced. The service was excellent. They made sure everything was to my satisfaction. All of my guests loved the food. I have been to this restaurant and eaten there in person a few times. Again food is incredible. The restaurant has a very nice vibe to it. It is very comfortable setting to have dinner with your family. I highly recommend going there for lunch/dinner you will not be disappointed. Craig“

“We had a reservation Saturday night for six people. We were not told that an automatic gratuity would be added, and I did not check out the website to see that. I have no problem with you adding gratuity. The problem I have is that you didn’t tell us. Yes, I know it’s on your website but not everyone reads everything on the website and I think it is proper for you to inform us. The chef we had was very good quite funny! Our server was wonderful, but a little busy and we had to ask for refills and rice for my husband. So overall a good experience, the food was delicious. The bathrooms could have use some attention but overall I’m not dissatisfied. I just think it is your place to let people know about an 18% automatic gratuity. Thank you so much.Parking: Parking was not very easy but no surprise on a Saturday night at peak dinner time“

“My wife and I have been going here for years. We have brought lots of friends and family over the years to Trappers. This last time we were there was so disgusting that we were going to walk out. the iced tea was so weak that it looked like dirty water that you could see through. We ordered our normal. We were sitting in the bar and could see the counter when the food was placed there. It set there for 12 minutes before our server brought it to us. Off and on for the whole 12 minutes the door greeter kept going over and leaning over and running his hands through his hair over our food. When they finally brought it to us we asked for a manager. We were not going to eat this after watching what happened. She was a young girl with attitude. She never said sorry for what had happened. After a few minutes with talking with her she offered to remake our dinner and give us a discount. We accepted and the food was just okay. We did not pay for the iced tea and we just drink water. It will probably be a long time before we come back after our experience.“

“Pricey, but high quality sushi and Japanese small plate items in a fun, self-serve, conveyor belt setup. The variety is decent and you can make special requests. As they charge by the small plate, expect to spend more than you would for a standard sushi meal. The service is only average and the servers don't seem to know the ingredients of the sushi rolls, so asking questions can be difficult.“

“I love their food but the wait staff has really gone down hill this last year. I took my family yesterday & the girl forgot stuff three times & she never came back for the rest of the meal until she brought us the bill. Sadly that affected her tip a lot. I was also in the middle of ordering & she basically stopped me to speak over me & said “she doesn’t ask about soups until the end of orders” when I always order a full miso soup order. She brought me one of those tiny complimentary ones & I didn’t even bother saying anything to her because she was obviously just not listening. There were only two other ppl in the restaurant so that was disappointing as we’ve been coming here for 2 years & it’s not the first time in the last 2 months (we use to eat here often) but that they’ve rushed us when there’s not many ppl in the restaurant. Bummer. The food is still good though that’s why we keep coming but the servers really need to act better. I don’t like feeling like I’m a bother when I come“

“Great teriyaki. Good gyoza (though not as crispy as the ones from Hot Teriyaki). Their salad dressing is amazing though! They sell it by the bottle and for good reason. Staff are polite and quick and there are plenty of tables to sit and eat at.“

“They are open on Sundays which is so great for when you don't want to cook. We have visited here twice now, and have enjoyed both times. I love that they also have an online ordering system for those who don't like making calls or just like putting an order in visually. “It was a very quiet and relaxing night when we were there. Customer service was very excellent, and the waiter would come by our table often to make sure everything was okay and if we needed anything else. “The food is great here. I had the large all meat pho, and I just kept slurping the noodle cause of how large the portion was. There was an abundant amount of meat in the soup as well. It was a great experience here overall. I think they put their vegetables in a bag for take out as well so it's pretty take out friendly I suppose.“

“This is our favorite teriyaki spot, we have tried many others some closer to home, some further away and we always regret going elsewhere and go right back to this one. The teriyaki chicken is great not to sweet like some places, the s&s chicken is also not overly sweet and oh so yummy , egg rolls and gyoza are a favorites we get them with every meal, the Spicy pork ain’t no joke and has always been super spicy (just the way we like it)! No false advertising at this place. The adult meal portions have always been large, kids meals are more then enough for my little ones as well!“

“My husband drives past this place every day going to/from work and has been wanting to try it for a couple years now...and I really wish we had tried it sooner! I won't lie, it doesn't look like much from the outside. But once you go inside, it's crazy how huge the place is and it has amazing Japanese decorations. I'm especially a huge fan of the water feature in the front with the bridge! We had a reservation for an early dinner on Monday night (5:30 for 5 people) and were immediately seated. The waitress took our drink orders within a minute of us sitting down and soon brought out the soup and salad. The chef was out right after that and immediately got things going. The food was delicious and we even ended up ordering more on top of our original meals (hibachi chicken + hibachi steak/shrimp). The "show" was fun and we lucked out with a chef who was talkative and very interactive. Prices were comparable to the handful of other Japanese steakhouses we've been to over the years (think Kanki, Benihana, Nakato, etc) and totally worth it. I really hope to go back!“
“Kinza is also serving Korean food. We selected food from the Korean list of entrees. I had spicy fried chicken. Maybe I didn't know what to expect but it was too sweet for me. I wasn't expecting sweet. My partners had Bulgogi and Bibim-bat which they enjoyed very much. All of us had huge servings and to we had extrave food to take him. Wonderful staff.“

“You've got a cozy, welcoming ambience, the sweetest elderly couple around dishing up service you'd never get anywhere else, and the most filling, mouthwatering, filling, downright DELICIOUS teriyaki in the Pierce County. I had the bulgogi, a Korean dish with marinated cuts of beef, and grilled veggies, like onions and chives. The cook brings out the plate, SIZZLING hot, atop a hot skillet type dish. You'd wanna let this baby rest for a bit before digging in. Your patience will be rewarded, with tender, juicy, rich beef, balanced with the nice acidic bite of the chives and onions, served with hot and soft rice. Need I say more? I also got the BBQ pork (pictured below), which is ALMOST the same as the bulgogi, a Korean BBQ marinaded cuts of pork coming out sizzling straight from the kitchen, with rice. This pork was melt in your mouth tender, it offered a nicer acidic bite in comparison to the richness of the bulgogi, the onions and chives accentuating this flavor even more so. After a little while of enjoying our food, the couple must've been having lunch, when the lady running the place brings my family and I some slices of watermelon, FREE! The watermelon was oh so crisp and juicy. The couple running the place deserve the world and MORE. I also forgot to mention the value, you get a great amount of food for what you pay for, you'll definitely get your money's worth here. Whenever you find yourself with an appetite in the area, I cannot recommend this place enough, you will not be disappointed.“
