“I have been eating here regularly for over 3 years, this is my favorite place to get lunch in Kent! The food is always fresh and healthy, the menu has lots of great options, and the portions are more generous than in other similar restaurants. The staff is always friendly and polite, and the service is very quick.“

“I wish the teriyaki sauce was thicker and there was more of a char on the chicken but I can't really fault them for that being their style and because the chicken was very moist and tasty. Very reasonably priced, especially the specials. The staff was friendly. The place was clean and had a good, peaceful atmosphere.“

“Truly excellent teriyaki.
Had friends in town who can’t eat gluten, and they wanted whatever I considered Seattles signature dish so I had to find them teriyaki. Called Himitsu and they kindly explained my options (all the teriyaki is gluten free, the fried rice CAN be if you specifically order it gluten free). When I picked up the food they were kind and friendly with a big smile.
The food itself was fantastic. Fried rice was excellent, and the teriyaki is of the less saucy variety. While the chicken didn’t have a lot of sauce it was well marinated and seasoned so it was very juicy and flavorful. Our favorite was the beef. It was thin, tender, and no unpleasant gristle to be found.
Our friends loved it and we now have an option we’d happily recommend to anyone, whether they can have gluten or not!“

“I. Love. This. Place. They are our go-to teriyaki spot and have been for years, but what I really love is that they are family run and get to know and care about their customers. Highly, highly recommend!“

“Sushi Kaunta delivers a truly authentic experience and on par/exceeds many of the highly rated omakases in Seattle. The chef is both highly skilled and genuinely kind. The fish was incredibly fresh, and each piece is balanced and thoughtfully prepared. Service is warm, attentive, and perfectly paced, making the entire meal feel seamless. Overall, it’s an outstanding dining experience I’d highly recommend this place!! Definitely will be back!“

“Been going here for years. Always consistently good for chicken teriyaki or yakisoba. Eggs rolls are good too. Nice side salad. Always fresh. Never left a review for them in the 10 plus years I've eaten there and I always go back. Figured I should. A go to spot for an easy meal.“

“My boyfriend was craving teriyaki on a Sunday which as many of you know that teriyaki places are usually closed on Sundays. However, we saw that this place opens on Sundays (they had several banners saying that they were open on Sundays too) after the original place we wanted to check out had a sudden kitchen maintenance. This restaurant is a lot bigger than other teriyaki restaurants with booth and chair seats, plenty of big or small tables, two TVs playing different sports, and it was the temperature was perfect. They have a big menu so it's easy to see the prices and their offerings, which consists of teriyaki, soups, Chinese food, sushi and bubble tea. Their prices are very reasonable and the upcharge on fried rice is the lowest I've seen but I think there's a reason for that (it's pretty bland). The cashier lady was efficient at her job but definitely could be friendlier and I wish she wasn't super snappy, there was no real rush and we were maybe their fourth order during that time.
We opted to dine in and took our seat waiting for food. They have offer fountain drinks and bottled drinks, as well as water cups. We got our utensils and sauce cups first then our food arrived not too long afterwards. My boyfriend got their chicken teriyaki and chicken katsu combo with fried rice while I got their chicken teriyaki and California roll combo. I love that they have steamed veggies as I like to enjoy any remaining teriyaki sauce with them. The California rolls were decent, not the best but not the worst either. The teriyaki sauce is pretty good, it is a great mix of sweet and savory. They are also very generous with rice as there was a bed of under my teriyaki and two scoops. My boyfriend enjoyed the katsu and the sauce that came with it was very delicious! The only issue we had was that the fried rice had no seasoning or color, I almost thought it was white rice with some veggies at first. Other than that, a solid teriyaki joint that seemed to have a good amount of people coming in to pick up orders for the most part.“

“I can honestly say this is my favorite teriyaki spot around! The food is always fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly every single time. The chicken is tender, the rice is always spot on, and the portions are amazing for the price. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, and they always make you feel appreciated as a customer. You can tell they truly care about the quality of their food and service. If you’re looking for delicious teriyaki and a great local place to support, I highly recommend giving them a try!“

“I tried Musashi for the first time and it was alright! I got a chirashi bowl which ran to $20 after taxes. It was a pretty small bowl but it was decent. It wasn’t the best chirashi bowl I’ve ever had nor would I come back here for it. It was nice to try a new restaurant but it wasn’t anything too crazy or extraordinary. There are about only 4 tables inside so it’s definitely not like a “dine-in” restaurant. The majority of their orders are to-go’s. It was a bit difficult to locate the restaurant as it’s clumped with the apartments.“

“Hands down the best Teriyaki in Des Moines. The Wonton soup is so good and has a perfect broth base. The Teriyaki, sweet and sour, and gyoza is our go to's.
They are very generous with sauce and portions are big.
Tim and family are the most welcoming and friendly people too. Wish I could give more than 5 stars“

“Everyone loves their karaage chicken...huge servings! They also have the best Tom Kha...the flavor is spot on! Pad See Ew, drunken noodles, etc are all wonderful. Portions are large & prices are reasonable. But, biggest reason I keep returning is their terrific staff...just the nicest people!“

“Absolutely amazing experience! I had the teriyaki and katsu, and both were delicious. My girlfriend ordered a bento box and loved it as well. The food was fresh, flavorful, and generously portioned.
What really made our visit special was the incredible staff. The woman working there I think her name is Sarah was so kind and welcoming—she even took a picture of us and hung it on the wall with photos of other customers. It made us feel like part of the family and created such a warm, personal atmosphere.
Food was 10/10, service was 10/10, and the overall experience was unforgettable. We will definitely be coming back 100%!“

“Tried teriyaki for the first time today and WOW… absolutely phenomenal 🤍🔥
The flavor was unreal — perfectly balanced between sweet and savory, with that rich, glossy sauce coating every bite. The chicken was tender and juicy, the beef was flavorful and slightly smoky, and everything paired so well with the warm rice.
And let’s talk about the gyoza… crispy on the outside, soft and juicy on the inside — honestly the perfect side.
What made it even better is finding a halal spot that delivers this level of taste and quality. It made the whole experience even more enjoyable and stress-free.
If you love bold, comforting, and flavorful food — teriyaki is a must-try. Definitely coming back for this again 😍✨“

“Such a cute little spot! I love coming here, the staff is friendly, the service is impeccable and the rolls are moderately priced. The only thing I would change is that some of the menus from the previous ownership are still showing online.“

“Been going here since i was in second grade, so roughly almost 20 years. My family used to have a shop in the shopping center, so my cousin and i (Tony and David) used to walk over and eat almost every week after school.
Get the Chicken Katsu. I kid you not, it’s the best Katsu i’ve ever had. Out of all the teriyaki joints in the area, hands down, they make it best. It’s crispy, crunchy, tender and just the right amount of chew! Paired with rice, salad and their katsu sauce. You won’t get none of that dry, soggy and fall off breading like you do at other places.
Also, if you’re not a fried food fan, their Chicken Teriyaki is delicious! Classic, tender, moist chicken with rice. My #2 next to Chicken Katsu.
For the owner and their family,
Thank you for serving the community for the last 2 decades. As a kid to an adult, i’ve always felt so welcomed every time i stepped in. I will always drive across towns just to come and eat here. Thank you, and will see you again and again!
P.S. to the family: If it is ever time for the owners to retire, please dm the Katsu recipe! Really! Haha“

“Come for the lunch special and bring an empty stomach! A huge plate of delicious food for less than 20 bucks at lunch time is a rarity these days.
Also don't miss the opportunity to grab an extra side of their simple, yet delicious Mac salad.“

“The food was so delicious. The resturant looked clean. The lady in front counter was really nice. I live far away, but I keep coming back to order more. I heard their chief has more than 20 years of experiences in teriyaki resturant and they use quality food for the customer.“

“Nikko is one of my go-to lunch spots. Their teriyaki chicken is the best in the valley. The portions are generous, and the sauce has a unique spice in it that I love, not your ordinary bottle variety sauce. Service is fast and always friendly.
In my most recent visit I strayed from the usual to sample their yakisoba noodles. Again, large portions for an exceptional value. It was fresh and hot. I ate it all, but I probably won't order it again, as I found the sauce too sweet. Next time back to the chicken.
Also, the gyoza are worth the splurge!“

“You guys ruined everything as customers.
They no longer serve real pho noodles because of you guys! Yes! You!!!
What do you mean “Pad Thai noodles”?
What do you mean they don’t have “regular pho noodles” here.
They literally put up a sign months ago saying they had two different types of noodles for you to choose?!?
I already had a bad feeling this wasn’t going to end well.
My God—your so-called “regular pho noodles” are actually hủ tiếu / kuteo noodles. Back then, restaurants in the US couldn’t afford fresh pho noodles, so they used hủ tiếu as a replacement. Just because you got used to it doesn’t mean you get to ruin it for everyone else.
Buy a ticket, go to Vietnam, touch some grass, and see what real pho noodles actually look and taste like.
I love this place to death—and I mean it. I’ve been coming here ever since my banker introduced me to it, and only here. Only this place. Because of their noodle options, and because their broth reminds me so much of Southern pho in Vietnam.
You guys are absolutely crazy.“
