“Great local spot for teriyaki & katsu! It might not look like much from the outside, but the food is always fresh and hot, their food inspection rating is great, the service is always friendly.
Have tried quite a few katsu dishes around Spanaway and Kinza is the only one that serves /good/ katsu with a smile that I keep coming back for. The salad dressing is also really delightful, and the combos are super affordable.
Don’t judge a book by its cover, try this local family owned restaurant for their food & support a local business.“

“The menu here is large and varied! So many options, including baked rolls. The shrimp tempura in the Lucky Cat roll was delicious - I recommend it. Also get the sushi dip, it comes with fried crispy wonton chips and jalapeno sauce! Everything was nice and fresh. Beautiful presentation. Portions are generous and prices are agreeable. Friendly service in a nice and clean environment. I definitely recommend!“

“1st let me say..had food twice, once from order service and other in person. Both times the service and food were great! The manager is very nice and respectful along with the staff. The funny differences from other sushi restaurants are the fact you have to order everything by QR code ( so if you want a mobile device free night..not gonna happen) and your order comes via a robot! Now that I found funny because I kept on despite directions from the “robot waitress” trying to take food from the other shelves until I got used to things. Speaking on getting “used to”..try maybe 1 or 2 times order something small to get used to how the quantities are served. My friend meant to only get 2 of something and ended up with 3 and I had to eat the extra 1 for respect of the dining rules “whatever is left when you are done you must pay for”. Now the “all you can eat” bit. Please understand that the food here is really good and that they offer quite a unique variety of items to try and eat. That is the meaning of the “all you can eat” here. This is not a legit “all you can eat” restaurant . For $30 you are getting way good quality..so do you want good quality or high quantity? In this tight market you can’t really get both. So please be mindful & respectful of this. They do sadly have techniques to let you know when you are reaching “their” maximum..and after much thought…I can respect that. Overall the food, service and everything else was excellent. I ate mostly the sashimi which I thought tasted fresh and buttery when needed to be and when ate rolls I had the rolls that were cooked and those were handled expertly. My friends had the coconut shrimp which was the favorite for them and such like items. One said the ribs were tough and the fried rice was too hard. Overall I will return and be more “menu venturing “ knowing that there is actually a limit. Again..out of respect, please respect quality over quantity.“

“This is the best Teriyaki restaurant in the state. I drive from Lacey WA. just to get it. I always get spicy chicken number 4. For the money the portions are amazing compared to what other restaurants will give you. Yes the building is not very nice and its cramped in the restaurant but the food is SO worth it.“

“A friend of mine and I ate here a few weeks ago. The food was unbelievably amazing! We loved it! The service was excellent, too! I'm sure we'll go back as soon as we can. 10 stars ?
Parking: The parking lot is shared with a plasma center, which gets busy. But, overall, not bad.“

“This was my first time visiting Ichiban Teriyaki. I was greeted as soon as I entered the restaurant. The staff was friendly. I was ordering my food to go, but there is space for dining in. There are plenty of options on the menu. The spicy chicken was delicious!! It came with a side salad and two servings of rice. I’ll be back to try other items on the menu.“

“There are not a lot of sushi restaurants in Tacoma, and of those I know of, they tend to think they're in Seattle and it's okay to charge $20 a roll, or competing with gas stations to make you nervous, this place is the exception. It's affordable, not pretentious, cute interior with pretty solid sushi, (I stick with the veggie options but my friends have all enjoyed the fish, so second hand account on the actual sushi)If you live in the area and want sushi, I definitely recommend it, for whatever that's worth :)P.S. I'm grading this a bit on a curve due to the other options I've had, but it's a review so definitely biased in some way or another.“

“This place is wonderful. I called ahead and let them know I would be placing a large order for my work. They were super accommodating, and friendly. They took my order promptly when I arrived, were polite, and helpful. The food is great, and they helped me carry all 13 meals to my car. They really are a great spot to go to eat, dine in or carry out. I will continue doing business here, as I thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you!“

“Such good food and tasty. Good portion sizes as well. They are always friendly and make sure you have everything.
Parking: Depends on the time of day you go. There are other businesses in the complex, and if busy, parking is harder to find. It's free parking, though, and there are parking spots right in front of the restaurant.
Wheelchair accessibility: It's 1 story and no stairs, so it is easy to get in and out.“

“Ordered Chicken Teriyaki, Almond Chicken, and Shrimp Fried Rice. If you are looking for traditional Almond Chicken, this is not where you want to order from. It had veggies and a sauce more like teriyaki… so disappointed.? The chicken teriyaki was tender and cooked well. The shrimp fried rice was “fine”; nothing I would recommend. The total for this was just under $43 and no fortune cookies. Probably will not return…. Not bad just not what we were looking for.“

“I’ve eaten at Sushi Ari four times in the last two months. I’ve been impressed every single time. I’ve had about half of their menu and each item has been top tier. The quality of fish is excellent and a very good value. Their front end team is exceptional; they are polite, friendly, and have excellent recommendations. Their front end atmosphere is warm and relaxing. I’m very impressed and I’m sure you will be too. If you try it you’ll likely be back. Bravo Sushi Ari!“

“From the outside, I expected a dingy resteraunt but inside the attendant was more friendly and warm than any teriyaki resteraunt I've ever been too. The inside had a nice dining area with modern music and it was clean. I ate a bit there and took the rest home. The chicken teriyaki bowl came with two gyozas and plent of veggies that I was super happy to have. The chicken was moist and well seasoned. I've had many that are dry and charred and disguided in sauce and this was so much better. The egg rolls I had tasted fresh and there wasn't a bitter after taste from old egg rolls. I would seriously go out of my way to eat here again.“

“Top notch pad Thai, Pad See Ew, and yakisoba. Excellent flavoring, crisp veggies, and generous portions. I am from San Diego or I'd be back to try more! Situated in a food court but every bit as good as a sit-down place. Venue has other vendors too, so it would be easy to mix and match with other different tastes.“

“I recently had the pleasure of dining at this teriyaki shop, and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and a welcoming atmosphere.First and foremost, the food was absolutely delicious. I got spicy chicken teriyaki and general tso's chicken. Each dish was bursting with flavor and made with fresh ingredients. Whether you're a fan of chicken, beef, or tofu, they have something for everyone. The teriyaki sauce was perfectly balanced, not too sweet or too salty, just right. What really blew me away was the speed of their service. Despite the bustling lunch rush, my order was ready in record time. It's evident that they prioritize efficiency without compromising on quality. Whether you're dining in or taking out, you won't have to wait long to satisfy your cravings. In addition to their tasty food and quick service, the prices are very reasonable, making it a great option for a satisfying meal that won't break the bank.Overall, I highly recommend this teriyaki shop to anyone craving delicious Japanese cuisine served with lightning-fast service. I'll definitely be returning for more soon!“

“I go here a lot because there are few teriyaki spots that offer a good price with quality food and portion sizes. The only thing I don’t like is the sesame chicken. It lacked the crispy texture that I’m usually looking for, and the chicken seemed a little low grade.“

“First time here and we were all very impressed! We got the Dish 1 option to share (“serves 3-4”), monkey brain, kimchi, and egg drop soup! With 4 of us it was wayyyy too much food so will feed us 1-2 more meals at home with leftovers. Presentation was great, service was great and very attentive, and the restaurant was clean. We ended up spending $100 total including tip so about $25 each and it’s the gift that will keep on giving.
My food snob friend said that the kimchi was the best they’ve had and raved about the almond chicken (I’m not a huge fan of either in general but they were good). We will be back!“

“First time eating here and it was excellent! Tasty chicken teriyaki, and yokisoba noodles. The eggrolls were probably some of the best I’ve ever had. Portions are huge. The woman working the front was extremely friendly and kind. The only downfall is I originally called to place an order, and there was a small language barrier, but other than that, experience was great.“

“We always have such a great experience here!
The staff is very kind and attentive, and are patient with my kids.
The servings here are very generous! Usually we are taking part of it home for the next day.
My son is a little more particular and they have always made his chicken katsu exactly how he likes it, and every time I've gotten sushi it was a hit!
This is also one of our favorite places for holidays because they are so generous celebrating birthdays!“

“It's a small place, but I'm gonna tell you, have been tried to eat some good teriyaki, i used to eat while living in Kirkland, WA, and couldn't find anything around. So i said I'm going to try the next one. It's as I remember the taste i used to love. And big portion, actually it's a lot, i just couldn't finish.Sorry that i left a little bit in my plate, but just couldn't fit in anymore. Thanks.“

“I have been all over the place lately trying to find a good teriyaki place. Decided on chicken breast fried rice. It was delicious along with egg roll and bbq pork. I have to drive a bit to get there but the way they take pride in their food and service, I will for sure make the drive.“

“Depending on the chef you get makes or brakes the evening. The service staff is OK, but this place is all about the show from the chef. In the last few visits, we have had great interactions, and it makes for a really great experience. I recommend for special occasions like birthdays or anniversaries.“

“Got the combo with Chicken Teriyaki and Sesame Chicken for takeout, and was very pleased. Food was excellent, and even though they forgot to put my sauce on the side, they offered to remake it for me! I didn't have them remake it because that would have been just a waste of perfectly good food, but the fact that offered was nice.
Only small nitpick is that for a double plate like that, the amount of rice you get is pretty small. I assume it's the same amount of rice that you get for a single plate, so one more scoop would have felt more balanced.
Overall though, I think it's a pretty small complaint. Very good food, not too expensive. Definitely recommend!“

“I tried the bibimbab there for the first time this year. It is so delicious! Suzy's is still my favorite Korean place to eat, after 5 years of eating there, because no msg and they make sure their ingredients are fresh. And it is delicious! They have gotten quite busy in there at times, so have had to wait a little longer, but it is worth the wait to me.“

“The food is good, BUT in that past year they have become SOoooo EXPENSIVE and its NOT worth the money any longer. The portions used to be larger and now they barely fill their boxes. Not going back because of those reasons. They need to drop the prices again and add more food to boxes again.“

“DO NOT RECOMMEND It's what I pushed and then all the sudden it said I recommend it no I don't I went in today to go get my Beef Teriyaki with fried rice I paid extra for the rice. I ended up not getting a sauce for my fried rice so I asked for one. I showed the girl that I didn't get one and she was rude to me in front of all the customers saying that it doesn't come with 1. Trying to charge me $1 so I'm confused that not only did I just pay 12.49 plus 1.99 for some rice and you want to charge me for a sauce. She slammed down 2 sauces and said "next time I'm charging you". I took 1 to my table and said you know what I'll put it back because I ordered a side of fried rice and will give my mom mine. Shes slamming the ice around etc... Also I had bean sprouts in my food a few weeks ago when I asked for none in 3 of my meals. I didn't complain. I did have 2 complaints from the past about sweet and sour chicken being hard it was all like bone cartridges. If you complain one time the rest of the time on they treat you like crap. I'm done with going here I've had enough of thier bs.“
