“Real pleasant morning stroll from my hotel to this coffee shop. I had a black coffee and a muffin. $10 plus tip. Coffee was free refills. Played around on social media for an hour. Enjoyed two really good cups of coffee and pet a dog. Worth the walk. The staff was very nice. They even reminded me of the actors from that Brooklyn coffee shop skit, with out the snark. Will come again!“

“Di Tazza bakery, cafe and coffee drive thru is a great place to sit and enjoy a coffee with friends. They have pastries and yummy frittatas, biscuits and gravy and breakfast sandwiches. They have vegetarian choices and some nice gluten free pastries that are all made on the premises. It’s really cute and clean. The staff is friendly and quick to make you feel welcome. I live really close to it and I highly recommend it. It is in the previous chase bank on SE 84th and 137th. Easy access from Padden Parkway. Give it a try. You won’t be disappointed. 🥰“

“OK. Cariño. What a place. The owner makes every customer feel special. Her name is Melissa and all I can say is, “Thank you.” She made us both feel right at home. She co-owns the place with her sister. All the food is clean (no preservatives, etc.). The sodas in the fridge are clean. They make their own tortillas, their own hot sauce (her dad’s recipe), their own horchata . . . and their philosophy is, “Would I feed this food to my family at home?” The atmosphere is fun. There are cacti and plants everywhere, and there’s fun art on the walls. The wifi is more than fast enough (290 mbps if I remember correctly). The bathrooms are clean. There are several small places where you can feel intimate. I love the couch/chairs and little round table near the front. Their mocha flights—you have to try them. They’re a little spendy at $17, but they include four Mexican Mochas (cardamom, orange, habañero, and . . . I can’t remember). But get the flight, get the avocado toast, sit with a friend, and really FEEL the downtown Vancouver coffee shop vibe. I can’t say enough good things about Cariño. Oh yes, on Thursday and Friday nights they transform into a wine bar, serving specialty wine flights (also $17 if I remember correctly). The wines are from Mexico and the vibe is distinctly different from the daytime vibe. I can’t wait to try their “After Hours” experience myself. All in all, five stars. A must-visit. “Always a great cup of coffee. Both the employees and owners take effort and learn the name of the customer beyond just the type of drink they normally buy. I’ve seen when the owner’s find a shot brewed substandard; they’ve dumped it at their own cost in favor of getting it right. It’s a small thing, but it says a lot. They care for their coffee and for their customers. 10/10“

“My son is a barista at this location. I came in for a coffee and a sandwich and was so proud to watch his interactions with Customers. Big smile and great attitude. I’ve managed Customer Service for a majority of my career, so watching my son provide excellent service was very fulfilling. All of the kids working at The Great North when I have come in have been wonderful. Management shouldn’t take this for granted. The coffee is good, but you can’t beat great customer service👍“

Sometimes they have baked goods for 50% off that are a day old. I also ordered the Breakfast sando with the Fresno chili peppers 🌶 and it was delicious! “The coffee itself is really good, but Black Rock in general could you some work on their mixed drinks. Upcharging me for whole milk when they should just be using it anyways to make lattes is annoying and they use half as much flavor as needed so you need to request extra, which is also an up charge. My drink ends up being almost $7!! The service is great and everyone is nice, but dang, getting a drink made how the rest of the coffee places do it is expensive.“

“Best Coffee and Service hands down in the Pacific Northwest. All the coffee is sourced and purhased with the passion for the Growers and plantation workers in mind. Fair Trade is only as good as your knowledge of the Industry.Tim and Jen have traveled extensively and know the growers in regions where they source their beans. The true experience is when you are sipping the brewed coffees which are roasted precisely according to the profles of the coffee, the region and cupping process in house.There are lots of coffees I love in the NW. BJ's has a heart for the PEOPLE who are boots on the ground at the plantation levels where the heart of the bean begins. Their heart for the growers is evidenced with thier knowledge of each region and coffee they source for their buyers here, in the retail level. I have purchased thousands of pounds of coffee for 30 plus years from BJ's coffee and have never been dissatisfied. One of my favorite Roasters of many roasters, but my go to at the end of the day!“

“I stop off here at least once a week on my way to work and have for the last few months so this review is more than owed. The girls are friendly and churn out drinks in a timely manner, each of my visits takes about 2-3 minutes tops. Everything from tea to coffee to their weekly specials is delicious and exceptional, and way cheaper than anything you would get at Starbucks. Also absolutely love the little cookies/candied coffee beans that come with the drinks, its such a nice touch. Keep up the amazing work ladies!“
