“My wife and I had dinner here. We shared an appetizer, which was the pita and hummus. It was delicious. I’d advise getting extra pita as the hummus bowl was big. I had the gyro platter, which is basically a gyro without a pita. It was very good! My wife ordered a bowl with a kabob. She was a little disappointed that it only came with one kabob. All the ingredients were very fresh.

That of course our fault! … but I happen to be very hungry… two of your waiters (gentlemen) asked me if there was something they could get for me! Of course I said, yes!! I asked for Iced Tea .. brought to me immediately and then the second gentleman asked if he could get something for me .. he brought me a small loaf of that delicious bread nicely warm and butter!! It was delicious!! I would like to commend those two gentlemen!! Your restaurant is phenomenal as well as elegant!!! Thank you!! This was the first time we’ve been back after they closed their buffet for awhile. No rice pudding, which was always a staple with the mango and empty hot food bins, sauce but no meat. They’ve also moved the buffet right in the way to walk into the restaurant, so when there is a line, you can’t get around for the restroom or you have to wait for people to move when you are being seated. I dunno, not a top 10 day there today in my book, however, we’ll still go. I appreciate that they finally reupholstered their booths.“

“I was completely shocked a couple weeks ago when my husband and I went to breakfast at waffle Café on 72nd. We stopped going for a long time because the atmosphere was horrible. It was dirty. The food changed, it was bland, greasy and had gone downhill. This time it was absolutely amazing, the restaurant was much cleaner, the food was much better and the atmosphere was a lot more welcoming. A few days ago I went to get a gift card for a family member who use to eat there but stopped because of the lack of sanitary and food. While getting the gift card I asked the gal if there was a new owner, she said no, and I told her that we were , very surprised how welcoming and clean and how much better the food has been. I asked if they had a management change and she said yes that she was the new manager. I told her thank you for the job that she’s done making the café more welcoming again. Its nice to see that somebody cares about the cleanliness and the food in their establishment. We will be going back.“

The bartender we talked with and served us said she had only been working there 6 months but was fast, knowledgeable and very nice. She deserves accolades for a job well done.
