“For DECADES, the Gerndt Extended Family has patronized and enjoyed getting together at Family Table. It was my Parents' favorite place to go and they were very regular customers there. When in town and since I moved back here from Ioea to help care for my parents in their last years, they lived to 95 with Alzheimers, up until the very end I took them to Family Table where we were always treated very well. We especially love the portions having another meal or two to take home, and previously free desserts with the meal which understandably due to the economy even many years ago, that bonus was stopped. But we still love there dessert assortments with me loving their Strawberry Cheeseake! My daughter and I especially carry on our Family Tradition at Family Table, getting together with my son and his wife, my sisters, my nieces, friends. We would love to see them open again on Sundays as it was a great place to go after Church. Hopefully they can get staff to open Sundays again. Even during the Pandemic we loved the way they all learned and properly wore their masks as we continued to patronize Family Table using their carry-out, especially their Friday Night Fish Fries which are spectacular!!! Today, my sister and her husband are here from Lake of the Ozarks near Camden, MO, and where did sister invite us to meet? Yup. Family Table! Great Food, Reasonable Prices, Large Portions, Excellent Service, Wonderful, Comfortable Relaxing. Quaint Atmosphere. I had the Pork Chops Special, w Pork Chops fried covered in mushroom onions gravie meal which included my Baked Potato with Butter and Sour Cream, Salad, and Corn. Super Delicious!!! Every one else's meals were delicious as well. Ehen my Dad and Mom passed away, i told the Manager and staff and they remembered them well and would miss them. I have not been able to frequent the Family Table for several months due to medical issues, but as things get better I/we will be back for sure on a regular basis. “Surprisingly good. Made a reservation just to try a new fish fry so we went to 8900 Bar & Bistro. Easy parking for a Friday night. We were warmly greeted, staff were very friendly and attentive. The fish fry was extremely good and this restaurant offers combinations so I tried the cod and shrimp. The serving size was huge for the money, I actually made two meals out of this. Everything was perfectly cooked. Now I want to try some of their other menu items. Seating was very comfortable. Great value for the money. Will go back to try other menu items.“

“Classic milwaukee neighborhood tavern, but with the best food ! The burgers are amazing- fresh ground daily. Don't skip the soup, it's all home made. This place has really nice regular clientele, and lovely bar staff that also cook the food.Before dark it's a decent tavern for families too.The burgers are some of the best around.

“My husband and I have been coming to this eatery since it reopened under new ownership with Carlos who had formerly been the cook at the North Avenue Grill for several years. Though we will not be returning customers to this eatery, it's no reason for me/us to discourage others from eating here. The food is delicious. It's served hot and fresh. And we also prefer to do business with small businesses such as the Midtown Grill. But on our last recent visit, and this was not the first mishap, my food was not served as I had ordered, but I didn't complain. On this last visit, I didn't complain either, but I did exclaim to our wait person that I was unhappy with my platter. The Huevo Ranchero eggs were, and I had asked for two, instead of the three, overcooked, and it was too salty for me to enjoy. Well, as I watched the wait person walk away, I noted that the server engaged the cooks re: my food and from their body language it was obvious that my constructive critique was not received in good form. Shoulders were shrugged, and this implied to me that they didn't care. This behavior told me everything I needed to know re: my customer satisfaction. This is unfortunate because we enjoyed coming to this laid back eatery. We were provided a discount of which I DID NOT ask for, and I tried to explain to the server that it wasn't necessary, but I was left speaking to their back as they chose to walk away. This behavior towards me was rude and disrespectful. If an establishment does not want need or want your business, the wait staff can certainly help to make or break a customer's spirit.“

“I only order the "Jalapeno Popper" from Mac's in Brookfield. Over half the time I order it they don't put in any jalapenos or they put in next to none. How hard is it to properly make this dish? It is super hard to add jalapenos to the JALAPENO popper? After the 3rd order it happened I brought it back. The manager stated, I quote, "There are jalapenos all up in there" while pointing to two small pieces in the ENTIRE DISH. Done wasting my time and money with this location that can't make a simple Mac and Cheese. Pathetic.“

We’ve never had a bad experience or food, but today was particularly exceptional as it was the first time we brought our boys (2 years and 11 months). We had promised our 2 year old ice cream with breakfast as where we were originally going to go, they have malts. Much to our surprise they were closed, cue the toddler meltdown 🫠 Highlands cafe to save the day! No wait, they made a “special ice cream drink” right away for our 2 year old (chocolate milk with whip cream and sprinkles) and he could not have been more happy. The food was excellent to boot! “This "hole in the wall" bar is a must stop. I love visiting bars like this because of the community they provide. I was welcomed by the locals and had great conversation through my visit.The area is out in the country and can be tricky to find. Once I arrived, there was plenty of street parking as well as a lot in the back The inside was charming with a vintage vibe. Drinks were strong and their menu is lengthy. I ordered a cup of the soup which was styled after the Reuben sandwich. The corned beef was excellent. The soup is creamy and flavorful. I have tried to stop by again but they are only open Tuesday through Thursday. I wish I had checked the menu it because the reviews online show a fish fry but I'm not sure if that's available daily since they're closed on Friday? I hope you find out soon!“

“Stopped in recently for the first time and had the crispy chicken sandwich. It was the best chicken sandwich I have ever had. Crispy, juicy and hot - served on a toasted brioche bun with fresh lettuce, tomato and a creamy mayonnaise. The Kettle Chips were perfect. Good price and great service. You can tell they care about what they do. Looking forward to trying the meatball sub.“

“Overall, not bad at all. The cheese sauce was creamy and somewhat rich, but lacked what seemed like (to me) more nuanced, developed cheeses, or a more technical mornay sauce - rather relying heavily on what tasted like Velveeta or American products alongside maybe some dry seasonings, which can be great if you're craving it. Otherwise, the noodles were definitely a bit overcooked.

It can be a bit challenging to find exceptional mac since Fool's Errand closed, but in a pinch, Rod-n-Makk can get the job done.“

“We were curious to stop in after driving past. Our initial thought was it was one of the stock market bars where the drink price fluctuate based on demand. After walking in we realized it was more of a theme. Decorated with photos that remind you of New York as well as New York scenes. TVs above the bar, pretty high up were showing stock market news.

We took a seat at the bar, we were the only ones there as it was pretty early in the night. We both received menus, but when we compared to each other we didn't have the same menu. There must've been some additions or subtractions from one of the menus and they didn't change them all out. The menu also has a little statement about the bar, encouraging patrons to learn and network about the stock market.

We ordered drinks, The Strawberry, named after the founder of the bar, and The Wall Street. The drinks were a little on the pricey side. Based on the ingredients on the menu and watching the bartender make the drink, the recipe must've changed a little. I think we ended up getting a slightly different version of The Strawberry and The Wolf of Wall Street drinks.

Overall, it was a nice place. You can tell its new. They do serve food and hookah as well, though we didn't try any. It would be nice to have the dynamic pricing in the drinks to fit the theme a little better, but at least the drinks are Wall Street themed. For its namesake, I though the stock market TVs would be a little more at eye level or play a bigger role in the bar. The main TV had a movie playing at the time of our visit.“
