Prices are reasonable. Pours are generous. And a lot of great outdoor seating which we enjoyed today. I have been eating vegan and they have 4 vegan items on their menu which is more than other restaurants in the area. I had the tofu peanut satay and it was very good!“

I usually would have walked away honestly... but my friends really wanted to eat here, so I reluctantly agreed to stay. We were seated in 10 minutes! I was shocked at how fast it was. I would have guessed it would have taken an hour. Anyway, they took our order right away and the food was fast and excellent. I had a salad with blackened fish. EXCELLENT! I recommend it for sure. We weren’t a fan of the poached egg that was on top, but that was more of a preference thing. It had a sweet taste to it, so it was just different, not bad. Our waiter Jose was great! I had ordered an iced coffee which was coffee pour over ice (I was expecting creamer with it) Jose had no problem bringing over creamer for me which made it so much better! If I were a richer woman, I would walk in and get one of everything on the menu. The first time I tried it, I was so impressed, that the next night when I had reservations to another "foodie" Restaurant, I left after appetizers and came back to Odd Duck. This place makes me want to bring them little duckies. And I don't say that lightly. I want to hold them and love them and make them mine. The restaurant, that is. Not the ducks. Those I could leave or take. BUT I love the place so Much, that I accept and respect their love for the ducks and will take them just as they are. Am I proposing to a restaurant? Mayhaps. Try it and tell me you're not in love.“

“Why have I waited for 5 years here in MKE to try this? Tonight, I took my father out to dinner. He is nearly 87 and pretty much loves steak. I'm vegetarian. Therefore, finding a place that has quality food for both of us is a chore. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with kindness. The staff was exceptional. Our waitress, Mayah was as thoughtful, intuitive and fantastic as the best customer service goals could envision. But, the big thing, besides the beautiful, elegant space right across from Lake Michigan, was the meal. Bacchus offers several options for a fixed price meal. And, at $70, it is a serious deal. I found the vegetarian options inspired. I had the LACLARE GOAT CHEESE CURDS: blueberry compote, arugula, smoked walnuts, macerated blueberry, vanilla, and Tellicherry peppercorn. For my main course I had the butternut squash risotto. And, for afters, the pear and sunflower. My father went straight for the filet mignon. So, the result was a big thumbs up, 5 stars. Kudos also for actually having a vegetarian menu, being super accommodating to my father in his mobility scooter (holding the doors open, etc.) and lastly, thank you to the valet parking attendant for being so speedy and gracious. Go.“

“I love frozen custard and as a recent transplant to the Midwest, I've been reveling in the opportunities to enjoy it more as it's not widely available on the East Coast. I was visiting Milwaukee for a day, and all the guides said you have to go to Kopp's! I got there in the mid-afternoon and it was busy; you can tell it's always busy. They have plenty of parking, some outdoor seating, and a bunch of cows in the back. Everyone there was working hard. I ended up just ordering a basic vanilla cone (you can't go wrong with vanilla) and the person at the register charged me for a small but gave me a medium. Maybe they felt badly that the couple in front of me cut me in line? I don't know but it was worth the extra trip away from downtown to try the historic Kopp's.“

“This is truly a neighborhood diner that is a local favorite spot. We went on a Saturday mid-morning for brunch, and trust me . . . We were not alone. That joint was packed. We had about a 25 minute wait which was cool. Once we got seated, we were greeted by our waitress. The wait staff is not like an ordinary staff. They are a group of people that look like they just put on whatever is clean and come to work. You really don’t know who works there as the restaurant staff look like the average customer. . , it’s kinda weird, but it works. Our waitress was awesome! We had the Buffalo chicken BLT wrap with hand cut fries and creamy coleslaw and the spicy chicken quesadilla with tortilla chips w/salsa and sour cream. The food was soooo flavorful and seasoned to perfection. It’s a very busy dish place where everyone minds their own business. Loved it!!! I will be back. “Absolutely fantastic! After a long day of traveling and an afternoon walking all around Milwaukee, I came to Buckley’s with my parents for dinner. This converted home has been turned into a fancy-casual restaurant with an exquisite atmosphere. I tried the Broccoli starter, which came with a nice miso tahini sauce that provided a unique flavor. The Buckley Burger was one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. The meat itself was so high quality and full of flavor, and the crisp brioche bun and toppings and condiments complimented the burger perfectly. I also had the Lobster pasta and it lives up to how delicious a lobster dish has to be. Absolute class when it came to combining the lemon and tomato flavors with the lobster in a light pasta dish. My Dad also says the salmon dish he had was really good. For dessert, it was hard to choose which of Mrs. Buckley’s items to get. We got the famous carrot cake and the seasonal St. Patrick’s cheesecake. All I know is that Mrs. Buckley doesn’t miss! Both desserts were so delicious and the high quality showed once again. The service was great, too. We were never rushed even with the restaurant being packed. The waitress was very nice, answered questions, and told us a little bit about the Buckley family. On top of everything mentioned, the pricing was very good and the portions were large. Overall, this is a restaurant I trust after my first visit. You can’t go wrong with Buckley’s. 5 STARS!!!!!“

“I was a special guest on a special occasion, and though surpisingly the restaurant wouldn't have been my first choice (because of the lack of spices), I appreciate every single moment of the food, presentation and our server's professionalism and kindness. The description says the decor is minimalist, and I argue that the food was too... And it was great to be exposed to this in this manner. We ordered the chef's menu which was a fantastical plate after plate served up for us. They seriously consider allergies and restrictions which is top-tier. Reserve hours out of your time for this gastronomocal experience and of course, getting lost in conversation with your date. Oddly, I remember getting a small cookie at the end--that was probably a piece that wasn't needed and changed the taste in my mouth a little. Perhaps a wrapped handmade candy to take away as a momento, or maybe I just need better willpower? Love this place, would return on a special occasion splurge.“

“My husband and I have been coming to this eatery since it reopened under new ownership with Carlos who had formerly been the cook at the North Avenue Grill for several years. Though we will not be returning customers to this eatery, it's no reason for me/us to discourage others from eating here. The food is delicious. It's served hot and fresh. And we also prefer to do business with small businesses such as the Midtown Grill. But on our last recent visit, and this was not the first mishap, my food was not served as I had ordered, but I didn't complain. On this last visit, I didn't complain either, but I did exclaim to our wait person that I was unhappy with my platter. The Huevo Ranchero eggs were, and I had asked for two, instead of the three, overcooked, and it was too salty for me to enjoy. Well, as I watched the wait person walk away, I noted that the server engaged the cooks re: my food and from their body language it was obvious that my constructive critique was not received in good form. Shoulders were shrugged, and this implied to me that they didn't care. This behavior told me everything I needed to know re: my customer satisfaction. This is unfortunate because we enjoyed coming to this laid back eatery. We were provided a discount of which I DID NOT ask for, and I tried to explain to the server that it wasn't necessary, but I was left speaking to their back as they chose to walk away. This behavior towards me was rude and disrespectful. If an establishment does not want need or want your business, the wait staff can certainly help to make or break a customer's spirit.“

The food menu is full of great versions of popular pup foods, and the staff is always really friendly and good at what they do. You do have to order everything at the bar (vs. servers and table service) which can be a little cumbersome and hectic when the pub gets busy, but it’s not really something that takes away from the experience as a whole. “Three of us dined at the restaurant recently with an out-of-town visitor. Our server was very good and recommended wines that matched with our dishes well, but the service was a bit slow probably because the restaurant was quite full. The menu is large, and there are quite a few choices other than steaks despite its reputation as a steak house. I ordered Hudson Canyon Seared Scallops as my main course; the dish was quite flavorful, although the scallops were not as tender as those that I had at other restaurants in town. I also ordered the Seafood Gumbo soup and found the soup to be better than most outside those I had in New Orleans. The restaurant has a fine dining setup, and the price certainly reflects that. The quality of food is good but nothing amazing. As a hotel restaurant, it needs to have the capacity to serve a large number of customers when holding events, likely requiring standardization and limiting room for innovation. So, for the same price or a little less, one can find better-quality food elsewhere in Milwaukee based on my view.“

“Highlights/Lowlights 1. Outdoor Fire Pits 2. Food Available 3. Open Year Round We love coming to South Shore! Glad this spot is open all year round. There are lots of picnic tables inside and outside, and gas fire pits on the patio in the Fall and Winter. Views of Lake Michigan are top notch as this spot is right on the water. The menu selection is pretty big for a Biergarten with sandwiches, flat bread, a variety of appetizers and drinks. They even have a gluten-free* crust for the flatbread. We did a few sandwiches and a flatbread and thought the food was pretty good. This place is really for the ambiance and drinks so probably won't be the best meal you've ever had but the food serves its purpose. Note - they have beer, seltzers and sangria. This is part of MKE County Parks so they don't have a permit for wine. We love South Shore and will continue to keep visiting! *Not sure about cross-contamination for gluten-free items. Recommended to call and ask if you have additional needs“

“My husband agrees that the duck fat burger is one of the best he’s ever had! I love the vegetarian fat noodles they’ve had on the menu during the winter season, seriously mouth watering.. but pretty spicy (the Thai chilis they put in there are no joke and last time I was crying at the table for a good 25mins because I accidentally ate one), I wish there was a warning about that. The cocktails are good, but not anything fabulous or fancy. We’ve been back once since our first time there a couple months ago!“

“I've been to AJ Bombers a couple times now and love their burgers. This time though we decided to try the Nashville Hot Chicken and wings. The chicken sandwich was more like a po-boy. The flavor was good, but it more sweet than hot for my preference. The chicken wings were a disappointment. They were some of the smallest wings I've ever seen. Next time I'll stick with the burger.“

“The new staff was a bit of a disappointment. Have been coming here for years. I waited as the the 2 behind bar were on their phones. The couple next to me had glasses empty and was ready to pay. The bartender didn't even help them or notice until after me. I ordered the burger and after ringing it in then asked, "oh, how do you want that?"I understand the new staff. Hope they will step it up because you are following in shoes that need to continue. Miss the old staff. Be more attentive at bar and personality goes along away. Not really into the, " What do you want?" Attiude. Be a bit more aware and courteous of people at bar.All good, just a different atmosphere than in the past. And as I was typing this 2 other couples asked us for our menus. The bartenders were not even here.Great food! But disappointed in service.“

“This place is really fun! Casual art deco digs and a creative and engaging menu. We loved all of it! The Staff were superb, and the best bathrooms maybe ever. My only complaint was ALL the dishes were salty, like really salty. Even my salad. I didn’t really mind but, it was a bit much after a couple of course.I look forward to trying the other restaurants from these creators!“

“I always see this spot posted all over Reddit so I thought it was time to check it out. It's a nice walk from the Third Ward and also right on the Green Line. Parking can get tight but there is a paid lot nearby. The place was pretty busy which caused slower service, but staff remained attentive. The bar and dining room both had plenty of seating. This would be a great spot for large groups! I ordered a glass of wine and the Eggplant Parmesan sandwich with a side caeser. I was disappointed in the wine list, especially for an Italian restaurant. The glass of wine I ordered was pretty stale which makes me think they might not sell a lot of wine. Again, odd for an Italian restaurant. The sandwich was excellent. It had perfectly crisp eggplant with a flavorful marinara and plenty of cheese. I like that they serve giardinera to add some extra crunch and spice to the sandwich. I would love to return for the pizza that I read so much about! The food was amazing!“

“We ordered Ardent's Lent special Friday only fish fry and at $30 a pop for either perch or blue gill we were understandably curious about whether it would prove worth the cost but because the restaurant always delivers the best in culinary quality we felt pretty confident. Let me just say once we got home and opened up our 'pizza sized delivery boxes' we were stunned ! Each contained mounds of perfectly crisped French fries delicately sprinkled with parsley & dill , 2 containers of creamy flavorful tartar sauce , 2 slices of yummy marble rye slathered in sweet butter, a generous serving of piquant coleslaw and ample serving of PURR-FECTLY breaded & fried fish fillets + 3 fresh lemon wedges to add a bit of zest. Seriously in a post COVID world where restaurant prices continue to rise and in many cases quality & quantity slips an utterly delicious dining experience like this deserves all the accolades we can muster! Congrats to Ardent's entire team for having the dedication & talent to put it forth . Only regret? That Lent doesn't lasted all year long!“
