“I worked at a ponderosa local to us for years, and grew up going there. Unfortunately all the ones near our home have closed. We were so excited to visit this location and introduce our kids to ponderosa. The service was great from the minute we walked in the door. The food was great, and the server was not only attentive but so good with our kids. Is the facility in perfect modern condition? No. But you can tell they value cleanliness which is the important part when it comes to this. For families, especially families already tired and overwhelmed from vacation, this is a perfect stop. No waiting for food and something for every kid's preferences, plus plenty of good stuff for the adults too. Keep in mind that the buffet comes with any of the menu meals. I can't think of a single other place where you can get steak with unlimited salad, sides, and desserts in that price range. My sirloin tips and baked potato were delicious.“

My husband had the steakhouse burnt ends sandwich, I had the B3 burger- both so delicious! We didn't want to stop eating... the food was THAT good. Our daughter had the cheese pizza and loaded mashed potatoes, she had a second helping of potatoes and scraped her plate clean of them! Our waitress was fantastic as well. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The team went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly. They were professional, attentive, and even took the time to introduce the menu and ensure that every guest was well taken care of. The food and service truly elevated the evening — we received so many compliments from our guests! “For our 36 anniversary Brenda and I spent a week in the Dells, our Anniversary Dinner was at The House of Embers. The staff is extremely friendly the decor and music was like taking a time machine back to the 30s or 40s and the music was just loud enough to hear it wasn't loud enough to hamper conversation.

We had stuffed mushrooms and sirloin medallions with a caramelized blue cheese for appetizers they were fabulous.

Main course was petite filet and lobster (that's kinda our normal anniversary meal) it was beyond fantastic.

Everything about that evening was epic, thanks House of Embers for making it so.“

“I ordered a couple pizzas and an order of wings on a Friday night. The wait time was about hour (as I expected). Order arrived right on time, the wings were EXCELLENT even after being packaged up and transported and the pizza was hot fresh and very tasty. Service was friendly and even carried it into my condo. “3 star instead of 2 for two reasons. First and foremost was the bartender/server the night of 05/01/24. Really nice guy, especially to our kiddos. Second is the concept. The loaded tater tot ideas they have are good. Serving size on the loaded tots were good as well. However, execution is inconsistent at best. I'll start with the good. I had the torta tots. Pork was super tender and flavorful. Ancho chili sauce was delicious. "Pico" had banana peppers, which was actually a nice twist. Tomato & onion chunks were way too large. 3 starts overall on that dish. Mainly cause of the pork and sauce. Next were the pizza tots. Pep and sausage were decent. Sauce was a MAJOR fail. Not everywhere needs to do a homemade sauce obviously. At least use a good pre-bought one though!!! It might has well have been straight, crappy tomato sauce. Lastly, STAY AWAY FROM THE MAC & CHEESE TOTS UNLESS YOU UNDER THE AGE OF 5!!! How are you gonna be a bar/restaurant (not a crappy hole in the wall bar) in WI AND PUT KRAFT MAC & CHEESE ON SOMETHING OTHER THAN THE KIDS MENU!!! (Kraft in kids menues in WI is also questionable in my opinion). It was saved by half a star due to the ok cheese sauce and then made a little bit better by paying extra for the bacon. Also, ditch the paper on the bottom of the loaded tots. It disintegrates, and your guests end up digging the paper out of their food. Lastly, don't bother with the cheese curds. WAY OVERPRICED FOR HOW MUCH YOU GET!!!“

My steak was 8 ounce fillet and it was the best fillet I’ve ever had and we love to go out to eat and it’s hard to make us happy so I am very very pleased and would recommend this place to everyone.
