“Great lanes and equipment! 15 of us bowled during a company party and the computers worked flawlessly. We enjoyed the graphics- especially the bowling tips. They have plenty of ramps for little kids. We enjoyed all of the food: pizza, potato skins, and nachos.I had a difficult time finding an ideal ball (10#), most of the balls were either 8# or 13#. This was a very popular place for kid's on a Sunday afternoon. As this was a family event, we fit right in. If you don't enjoy noisy children, you may want to stick to evening bowling.“

It was so good that I went twice in one week because I couldn't stop thinking about how fantastic the food was! The service was excellent and Juan, the chef, made our experience super memorable. Make sure to get the chickpea paneer and the bao, they are both to die for! I'll be coming back (maybe again next week haha) and plan on taking all of my friends and family there to impress them. The service is impeccable and you feel like you have been coming here for years on your first visit.I just came back to Madison for work and had to see if lightning strikes twice. Somehow they managed to get better since the last time I visited. The food, including the scallops, was even better than I remembered and I had dreams about them over the last year. The service was, yet again, amazing. Issac was my bartender/server and he was engaging and friendly despite the happy hour rush. Amazing service yet again. The staff here is fantastic and that, coupled with the food makes this a “must visit” when in Madison. I will look forward to my next visit with bated breath because this is truly a fantastic stop that I won’t miss anytime I am on in town. Come here, you will not be disappointed!!!“

“Been coming here for many years. I feel like it used to be better. They keep changing things and for me, it's gotten less great. They got rid of a drink I loved and now refuse to make it, they used to have an amazing pastry chef, who at Christmas time, made an incredible buche de Noel and when I asked about it last year, they said they won't have it again. They also used to have the most incredible raspberry princess cake, which also disappeared several years ago. In terms of the main menu, there aren't many vegetarian options. And you have to be careful, even with seafood, becausse sometimes there are meat or heavy ingredients added. The service is generally very congenial but inconsistent. For example, their outdoor seating has always been first come, first served but last summer, they were only seating reservations outside, because, we were told, they "overbooked" the restaurant. So, despite many happy times spent here, there have been several recent disappointments as well. One note: I see some reviews that call this a French restaurant but really, it's more like French adjacent. They aren't strictly French at all. Oh, and you have to pay for bread and butter.“

Madison Club Fine Dining • $$$
5 E Wilson St, Madison - 6.19 miles

“We held our wedding reception at The Madison Club and we highly recommend it to other couples! We loved the classic, timeless, and memorable look and feel of the Club itself, central location downtown, and found it especially beneficial that they offered so many wedding services. From catering (cake included in our selected package), beverages, tables, chairs, linens, place settings, day-of getting ready spaces, and an on-site event coordinator. This was very important to us as we didn't want to have even more vendors to coordinate with, and the Club being a "one stop shop" was incredibly helpful in simplifying our planning. They have so many options to choose from so you can offer more classic wedding meals or something a little more adventurous (which we did and loved). The food is truly delicious! They also provide a list of vendors recommended by the Club and we were able to work with a few of them for our day. Alex, our event coordinator, was so responsive, patient, and accommodating throughout our planning process which entailed many emails, questions, and changes :) He was amazing to work with! We were so pleased with how everything turned out and we will cherish the memories made at The Madison Club forever.“

We had the calamari for an appetizer, and it was kind of flavorless, but at least it didn't taste fishy. I think the breading could have used a bit more seasoning. “I was visiting the Madison, WI area on business and wanted to visit a place to listen to some live Jazz. I located this bar on google. This is a small neighbor bar. I got there about 45 minutes before the band was scheduled to play. I was able to order some wings and onion rings for the pizza place two doors down and they delivered my food to me at the bar. By 8:00pm the band was setting up and the place was getting full. The bar tenders were getting really busy. The band played well. The service was great. The bar allowed me to run a tab with no cc on file. The locals kinda keep to themselves and I was ok with that. One couple ask if they could sit with me considering I had a table with four chairs setting along. They were friendly people. There were very few African American there i'm being one of them. Despite that I felt welcome and was treated well by the bar tenders. I would recommend visiting this place if you are in the area and looking for some live music to hear. :)“

“I REALLY ENJOY their Phorench Dip sandwich. It's like an American roast beef with some key exceptional upgrades: 1) soft but firm and chewy bread holds up to the dip 2) the dip is based on Pho, a Vietnamese flavorful sauce starring star anise, cilantro and MANY other flavors. I won't claim it's authentic, because I have no idea. I can only claim delicious and it's surprisingly accurate to sauces I've eaten in NORTHERN China, which might tell you something. Suggest replacing jalapeno with any of the common Asian peppers. 3) love the quaint place. There's a small stage in back, which may or may not get good use (I hope it does). Service is friendly and professional. It's OK to dine alone. I'm no expert on Poutine but it's also good comfort food. They have house made cocktails which seem appealing and from what I can tell, people enjoy. Best times to visit: Saturday afternoon, or before a show.“

“We loved our stop at Woody Anne's! Mona was a delight and met our every whim. Her "Do I look like I need help?" attitude was a breath of fresh air. We enjoyed Emil's pizza and a few beers while running the jukebox with some long-forgotten 80s tunes. We can't wait to come back to check out the "longest shuffleboard table in Madison"!“

“Food is actually very good and underrated. If you have the right person making it, one of the best burgers in town. There can be a mixed crowd - both in size and type. I've seen some gang bikers there, so be careful what you say. But everyone has treated me great every time in. Went once for breakfast and it was overbooked/burnt. I will try again another time, but I usually go for the night food/fun. Bartenders are the best!“

Silver Dollar Tavern Bar • $
117 W Mifflin St, Madison - 6.5 miles

“It's a dive bar just off the square- if you expect more from a place that's been owned by the same family since prohibition than that, go somewhere else. Service was exceptional, as was the music of my youth! Think they have a pizza oven for frozen pies- friends brought in eats from the place named after a cocktail a couple of blocks away to absorb beverages. Go, have fun, and just be yourself!“

Ultimate Grilled Cheese

“Normally I will only eat at the hotel restaurant if I need something quick. I ate here a few nights during my stay. Will who worked the bar was amazing. He was tentative, joyful and talked to everyone. He created a great atmosphere. I ordered a burger my first day. It was juicy and flavorful and the fried were perfection. Today I ordered a chicken quesadilla and I didnt expect much but OMG it was so flavorful, a kick of spice and so cheesy. I will likely order another one before my trip is up. If you are staying at the Sheraton in Madison I recommend checking out the Hub and hanging out at the bar for a while. It's just a nice vibe and food is really good. Complements to the chef.“

“Love this place! Came back with my dad for a scotch flight and a few martinis. Got to talk with the owner Scott who was amazing! Knows his stuff behind the bar. I highly recommend taking a look at the extensive martini list and giving a couple of them a try. They have weekly specials too-- Wednesday is $6 Martini night. Say what?!? Yes, you heard me correctly-- top quality martinis (shaken not stirred) for under a Hamilton!!!“
