Staff is great, wine is wonderful which my wife her friend enjoyed, and there were several beers option for my buddy and me to choose from. “It’s hard to make food a sexual experience but the Spicy Shrimp Po’ Boy f***** my face. Fuckin’ F**** a lot of places tone spice down for ‘general pop’ but this place gives it to you raw. If it says spicy it’s spicy but it also delivers a balance of flavor with heat. It was an explosion of awesome in my mouth. “We held a birthday party at State Line Distillery on short notice due to weather concerns with the outdoor venue that was planned. They were exceptionally welcoming and extremely accommodating. So many guests commented on what a great space State Line offers—both inside and outside. Not to mention the delicious high-quality drinks and friendly, helpful staff. “I’ve been to RED several times, and it keeps me coming back. I really enjoy the modern atmosphere. The lighting, colors, and background music give it a relaxed lounge vibe without being too loud or distracting.

The service has always been excellent, and the food comes out surprisingly fast. The sashimi is fresh with a great selection of fish, and the presentation is beautiful. The miso soup was outstanding, and I always think that’s a good sign of a quality sushi restaurant.“

“Fantastic cozy bar. This was our first stop on a round of three different bars recently and was by far our favorite. The decor is somewhat sparse and reminiscent of an art gallery, but the lighting and fun amenities (arts & crafts, coffee table books, Thursday night free snacks) add to the charm. The drinks were unique and fresh and the service was good. I appreciated the offerings of N/A beverages that weren’t just soda on tap. I had a grapefruit Sage fizzy N/A drink and my spouse had a lovely gin mixed drink (gin, passion fruit, tea). Definitely will be back!“

They were specifically good at communicating before hand and adjusting to my requests like ordering a champagne tower, and having drinks for me and my fiancée ready at the door when we walked in. I got the General Tso's chicken and vegetable lo mein, both were excellent, has to be some of the best in the Madison area. The tea selection finally brings us back to the long-lost day of Dobra tea, finally expanding the State Street area Asian dining experience beyond bag tea. The food is equal to these other successes. I had the braised beef noodle bowl. This was a generous, flavorful no-nonsense bowl with a goodly bone-n joint of beef in the midst of the other hearty chucks of meat. The broth and the noodles were up to the same generous, flavorful standard. I observed in passing that they seem to have the liquor selection they will need to fit in with State Street, though that isn't a reason why I stopped in. I will certainly be back.“

“One of my favorite foods is pastys, I was excited to learn about this place, otherwise you would find them normal in the u.p area of Wisconsin. All of the varieties are great! Had the chicken tikka masala one today, was awesome! I do like they wrap it in foil, because my 40min drive home it's still warm!“

“Chocolate Shoppe catered our wedding dessert and they were completely perfect! They bring a truck with about ten flavors including 1-2 DF flavors, and scoop into dishes or cones. The guests loved it on a hot, summer day, and it felt a lot more memorable than cake. They were super easy to work with in booking the event and the employee who worked our event was so kind. It was a huge hit and the ice cream was, of course, delicious! We would definitely book them again for a large event and would recommend them to friends.“

“Sencha has the best Matcha and Thai tea over the state street! They use real Thai tea leaves to brew the tea instead of the fake Thai tea powder. A wide selection of sushimi and sushi, as well as appetizers, and an assortment of entrees too. There are many items to choose from on the menu so even if you're not a sushi eater there's likely something for you. Good service but there can be a wait between courses if it's busy.“

“The shop is adorable and has such a cozy atmosphere, it’s a great place to sit and get some work done.

The real highlight, though, is their chai. I’m a huge chai drinker, and their iced chai, the “Chai’d & True” is easily the best I’ve had in Madison. It’s always perfectly balanced and consistently delicious.

The food menu is pretty limited with a few pastries options and honestly they are hit or miss which is the only reason I can’t leave 5 stars. Overall, I’d absolutely recommend stopping by if you’re looking for a cute coffee shop with excellent chai.“

We planned on splitting a sandwich but after a minor mishap, chef ended up making us each a sandwich and my oh my it did not disappoint.
