“This is one of my FAVORITE places in the Madison area; HANDS DOWN!! 🙌🏻 The best thing about this place is the people. 💯 The vibe you’ll find is one of humility, salt of the earth, kindness, inclusiveness, all are welcomed, loved, and accepted here type of place. I liken it to that bar, Cheers, where everybody knows your name… 😆❤️‍🩹🥹 Now, who wouldn’t want to hang at a place like that? 🤍💜🤍💜🤍💜🤍 But, wait! “It’s hard to make food a sexual experience but the Spicy Shrimp Po’ Boy f***** my face. Fuckin’ F**** a lot of places tone spice down for ‘general pop’ but this place gives it to you raw. If it says spicy it’s spicy but it also delivers a balance of flavor with heat. It was an explosion of awesome in my mouth. So, if you are looking to eat some delicious food while in Madison and need a foodgasm, visit Stadium Take Out you will have your mind blown.“

She nicely engaged in joking conversation, went above and beyond to accommodate our special request, and frequently checked in to make sure we had everything we needed. “We held a birthday party at State Line Distillery on short notice due to weather concerns with the outdoor venue that was planned. They were exceptionally welcoming and extremely accommodating. So many guests commented on what a great space State Line offers—both inside and outside. Not to mention the delicious high-quality drinks and friendly, helpful staff. “Really exceptional bowl of chirashi. You have to look a bit to find this on their menu but it's there...just a bit buried. That's not really a surprise as I consider chirashi to be the hidden secret on a quality sushi places' menu. No exception this time!

Everything was nice and fresh plus the assortment was great! I enjoyed being able to note the differences between 3 different varieties of tuna. I really enjoyed the pairing of the salmon roe with the snapper and found the salmon to be melt-in-your-mouth delicious. Seared albacore was really tasty as well. Best bite of the night? The big eye tuna. I generally prefer bluefin but had both side-by-side and enjoyed the big eye piece more.

Rice under the lettuce threw me a little but I guess that was the chef's attempt to segment the dish a bit. I tossed the lettuce aside and enjoyed the balance of the dish, including the assortment of vegetables as well.

Chirashi is a great way to go if you're really just interested in the fish. The tables around me were heavily laden with trays and platters full of rolls that just oozed ingredients all over. I'm a bit more of a purist and really enjoyed the chirashi but I would guess their rolls are pretty fantastic as well, if that's your thing.“

“They had a glitch with their online order; let me order Prime Rib on a day that they did not serve; when I arrived to pickup, they had no online order for me, even though I received a confirmation. They prepared another steak meal - but it was excellent!! Great flavor!! When ordering online, may want to double check they received the order.“

In the midst of many, many new Asian restaurants on or near State Street, Haven stands out for having a warm, open, well-lit and tasteful atmosphere--including not only a few games but a well-chosen, literate bookshelf that welcomes you to linger. The tea selection finally brings us back to the long-lost day of Dobra tea, finally expanding the State Street area Asian dining experience beyond bag tea. The food is equal to these other successes. I had the braised beef noodle bowl. This was a generous, flavorful no-nonsense bowl with a goodly bone-n joint of beef in the midst of the other hearty chucks of meat. The broth and the noodles were up to the same generous, flavorful standard. I observed in passing that they seem to have the liquor selection they will need to fit in with State Street, though that isn't a reason why I stopped in. I will certainly be back.“

“Imaginary Factory (or “If” iykyk) has a Clockwork Orange themed decor. Think Korova Milkbar with fewer sociopaths and more good cheer.

On offer was a Coconut Julius, an Orange Julius inspired frozen cocktail with coconut milk and wine. As a latchkey child of the 90s, I had no choice but to order. The first sip was a proustian moment. I was immediately transported back to the food court of my childhood suburban mall.

The star attraction of Imaginary Factory is owner and bartender Hastings. Think Sam Malone with the affect of Norm and the sex appeal of Frasier.“

“If a beer/brewery reflection is based on some real time and history, you would think Delta has been making beer for numerous decades now. They opened in 2019, and have been making some very good beer since Day 1. Note the name, Delta, too. A nod to precision. Change. And many more really good things about this brewery - and what they've done for others. Their coffee porters are really excellent. And a recent, barrel-aged, stout, by the name of Admiral (using J. Henry bourbon barrels) was excellent. There are many beer styles to choose from, and you're bound to find something you like - easily. (Some cocktails, too, are being offered.) Shuffleboard, darts, and vinyl records will be spinning at times here, too. When in the Madison area, and you're looking for a solid place with very good beers and a place to hang out for a while, this one should be on your list.“

“One of my favorite foods is pastys, I was excited to learn about this place, otherwise you would find them normal in the u.p area of Wisconsin. All of the varieties are great! Had the chicken tikka masala one today, was awesome! I do like they wrap it in foil, because my 40min drive home it's still warm!“

The guests loved it on a hot, summer day, and it felt a lot more memorable than cake. They were super easy to work with in booking the event and the employee who worked our event was so kind. It was a huge hit and the ice cream was, of course, delicious! We would definitely book them again for a large event and would recommend them to friends.“

“Had always seen the sign from the Interstate during our travels, finally decided to check it out. Cozy seating by the fireplace, perfect for a wine tasting and charcuterie. So grateful they use actual wine glasses for the tastings instead of little plastic cups like some places. Will definitely come again in the warmer months to check out the patio and vineyard side.“

“We came for lunch, as I was looking for a good ribeye. Immediately felt at ease upon entering. Even though it appeared pretty busy, we were sat right away. We needed time to peruse the menu, and our server Jordan never made us feel rushed. He brought us water, and gave us some time. We had the spinach dip, bone in ribeye, and ahi tuna steak. It was obvious that the dip was freshly made, and my rare ribeye was the best steak I’ve had in a long time. The housemade chive butter was also excellent. The atmosphere is welcoming, and the music stylings were en pointe for my taste. This is the kind of establishment I love to support.“
