My 8 year old son literally said it was the burger of his dreams (off the kids menu). Rainbow trout, amazing. Bison brisket, divine. Even down to the micro greens they used for flavor (perfect pairing) and kimchi for added spice that was not overpowering. Atmosphere was wonderful and customer service was outstanding, honoring a coupon that we ended up not really qualifying for. So it really meant a lot to us with having four kids and a pricy menu! “After spending some time in the Museum went to Palate for lunch before getting back on the road. Great setup with both inside and outside seating. There was live music outside by a guy on guitar . Our inside seats were right by the window so great view of the valley and hills beyond. Their were even smart enough to full mirrors on the back wall so if you were facing away from the windows you could still see out via the mirrors. Foods was great with some very interesting choices on the menu. I had Bison Gyros.“

“I highly recommend Buffalo Bills— We used them for our wedding in Jackson and we were beyond pleased! SO much food, endless compliments from guest and great service, we opted for servers to go around offering food to guests pretty much all reception. Did not have a single food item that we did not like; so many options!! The Playhouse is one of those downtown locations with an enormous amount of visual character, from the historic building and Old West interior to the costumes, signs, and saloon atmosphere.

The Jackson Hole Playhouse is one of those places that feels like it belongs in Jackson. I've seen quite a few productions here over the years, and it's always a fun night out.

The theater has a wonderful old-school feel. From the moment you walk inside, the building, costumes, saloon-style setting, and performers make the experience feel like you've stepped back into the Old West. The actors are often out interacting with guests in costume, and they'll pose for photos, which adds a lot to the experience before you even get to the show.

You can come just for the performance or make a bigger evening out of it with the dinner option. There's food, popcorn, drinks, and an old-time saloon atmosphere that fits perfectly with the theater. I've always enjoyed how much of the experience happens beyond simply sitting down and watching a play.

The productions themselves are consistently fun, and the performers and staff I've encountered over the years have always been fantastic. This isn't a giant modern theater where you disappear into the crowd. It's intimate, quirky, and loaded with Jackson character.

As the author of The Grant Colson Thriller Series novels and a romance novelist, I travel extensively researching real locations and paying attention to places with enough personality to become part of a story. The Jackson Hole Playhouse absolutely qualifies.

This has been a Jackson institution for generations, and it remains one of the most entertaining ways to spend an evening downtown. Dinner, a show, costumed actors, an old-time saloon atmosphere, and a building that feels like it came out of another century.

“We had a wonderful time at the white buffalo club. We stayed in a miller park room and it was very clean with everything we would possibly need in the room. Heather and Savannah at the front desk were helpful and pleasant and the housekeeping crew always greeted us with a smile. The location was perfect for lots of restaurants in the square- all walking distance but we did also enjoy having parking at the hotel. In the morning it was very nice to grab a muffin or bagel before we headed to Grand Teton. It was a wonderful trip!“

“Lots of places to get a tea, or coffee, in Jackson, in fact there are at least two other Starbucks. However, only the Starbucks at Smith’s has Rita working there, so it’s the only one worth going to! I once mentioned to her that I was taking a tea back to Teton village for my girlfriend and she made sure that it was made extra hot to last the 20 minute drive. I came back a week or so later and she not only recognized me but asked if I needed my drink extra hot for the drive. Ever since, I make it a point to stop in at this location. Coffee and tea tastes the same when you go to chains, but if you want someone who smiles, greets you with genuine care, and wants to make your drink perfect, stop in to the Starbucks at Smiths and say hi to Rita. You’ll be happy that you did!“
