“Amazing quality sushi in St. Albert. It’s a family-owned business with a super sushi chef who handcrafts everything for you. We love the sushi burritos, which are delightful and very filling: two people can share one burrito if you add an appetizer. They also offer a wide range of fantastic appetizers, nigiri sushi, sashimi, cones, urumaki and maki, as well as delicious frozen ramen you heat at home.Highly recommended!“
“I didn't eat in house so couldnt rate on that but i hope soon!!. But I would recommend with delivery to use Uber eats vs skip. Uber eats gives photos of some of their menu items. Worth seeing when it comes to sushi if your like me. Love this restaurant. No surprises! Sometimes 2 for 1 deals on Uber eats too! Great deal! Huge sashimi portions even on the sushi. I also messaged a question on Google and they were so prompt!!“
“Top-notch customer service! They were so understanding of my gluten allergy and extremely accommodating! The lady that took my order was just the sweetest and most patient human ever.. same with the manager (or maybe the owner), she seemed very concerned of my allergy and was present the entire time supervising the staff and food handling.. she was so kind and just amazing! My sushi was super fresh and delicious. I’ll be tipping twice as much next time!“
“The food was super beautiful and the staff was suuuuuuuper phenomenally amazing & respectful too. Yay!! I GIVE THEM 5 POP CORN KERNELS OUT OF 5 FOR TREMENDOUS SERVICE. ?Wheelchair accessibility: The restaurant is wheel chair accessible, super helpful to those who require these types of things. Yay!! ?“
“Brand new restaurant in a brand new mall. If you've been to an Edo before, then you know what to expect. It is fast food but fresh. This particular restaurant was no exception. Young staff (probably high school age) but very polite and helpful. I've always gone to Edo for lunch but assume that a supper would offer the same menu choices. I'm a noodle person myself and I prefer a beef and shrimp yakisoba. Totally recommend.“
“Ordered delivery through Uber Eats and the food was great. We had the Dynamite Roll, California Roll, Atlantis and Shrimp Dumplings. I particularly enjoyed the Atlantis, and I think my 10 year old would have eaten two orders of the Shrimp Dumplings all to herself. Will order again, and look forward to visiting in person.“
“Food was exceptional the ramen. The one I had spinach noodles in it. Got one free refill for noodles. My partner had the braided beef flat noodlesThe soup was hot, noodles were Dan an. I don't know what it is in English but good noodles. The have a game room downstairs too. Good for friends /groups.Will be back more.“
“They were extremely accommodating! It was a special occasion and the food and company was extraordinaire ! Highly recommend ❤️Service was spectacular! Our waitress cut his arm he was bandaged up and continued on excellent waiter! He made it extra special! There was a mix up without reservation! Front staff really helped and were very accommodating ❤️Highly recommend❤️❤️❤️“
“I love Japanese food and Tokyo Express in the Scona Market 78Ave is the best place to visit. The sushi plate was amazing and fresh. The staff is really what makes me happy and coming back again❤️? They are wonderful and so sweet. They are really nice and hardworking. They offer a great service to me. The ambiance is made for a memorable experience. I swear the staff is the best?“
“Surprisingly the food was so good for the price. I loved everything that I ordered today, especially the tuna tataki. Usually restaurants here in Edmonton, only serve beef tataki. I will bring my children to go there to enjoy more different kinds of dishes.Don't forget to try the blazing salmon rolls. This is my top choice.“
“Took my partner here for ramen after our classes in MacEwan, and I regret not coming here sooner. The Tan Tan deserves some type of award, and I look forward to trying it again. The staff were very kind and accommodating even while they were very busy, and they deserve some serious credit. I will definitely be back:)“
“This is the place I was looking for long time in Canada which reminds Japan a lot. I’ve tried many Japanese restaurants but most of them are westernized (in a good way for sure) but here, I can feel the respect for ordinary Japanese izakaya style. I really love the atmosphere and tastes are wonderful. I definitely come back.If you’re looking for authentic Japanese restaurant/izakaya, here’s the place !!“
“I thought I had reviewed this place before.I am glad to write another review of this place.Their Tonkatsu have gotten better than before. It was good and now it is great!Everything is made fresh upon ordering, so it is piping hot !Small hole in the wall place as you wouldn't know if you drive nearby. But glad I have tried here. They are also well known for fried chicken, but I recommend trying their Tonkatsu!“
“I had an amazing experience at Tokyo Express! The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and the service was top-notch. The sushi itself was incredibly fresh and expertly prepared. The staff was friendly and attentive. I highly recommend Tokyo Express to anyone looking for delicious sushi and a wonderful dining experience!“
“One of our all time favourite neighbourhood spots! The TNT pressed sushi, shaka shaka fries, agedashi tofu, and sashimi are our all time faves — you gotta get the fries!!! We’ve become regulars at Dorinku over the years & it has a special place in our hearts. Always the best vibes & best servers - Hi Sarah!!“
“It’s easy to come across new Japanese restaurants opening up in the city these days, but I can say with all my confidence that this place will always remain as my favourite. This place offers an authentic, homey and cozy Japanese dining experience but this experience comes with a compact space, so make sure you book a reservation in advance. Anything with their aburi salmon is a must-try and so is their nebeyaki udon. They don’t have the fastest service so I wouldn’t recommend this place if you are looking to grab a quick bite to eat.“
“The food was outstanding, and I was impressed by the knowledge and care around my gluten-free requirements (Celiac). Our server was the nicest and made our first visit so enjoyable. I will definitely be back for more of that pressed salmon!“
“The food was good. The music is a bit loud, but they did turn it down a little when I asked. I couldn’t really hear my friend speak. I think it’s a cute place to hang out for a quick lunch. There is a long line so I would recommend lining up there before they open. Their oysters were surprisingly creamy, it is my favourite dish there. The beef Tataki was meaty and I really enjoyed it as well.I don’t think it’s a place to sit and chat, but if you are looking for quality food on whyte, this is a good spot to try.“
“They offer a great dining experience here, and the marinated meats are absolutely delicious, I was very satisfied with the food, made it simple, and went with the Meat Lovers for 2 people, and that was very tasty all around. While the servers were friendly, they did leave us without water for a good part of the meal and any restaurant can easily solve that by leaving a pitcher on the table, that should be standard across the board.Only thing I would have liked to have another option for dessert (apart of the combo meal) as I do not enjoy smores and it doesn't work that well with the table after having just cooked all your meat, they could provide another option like a brownie or ice cream.I very much enjoyed it and would very much like to try the Calgary location“
“Oh man, I love I Love Sushi!!! Was here last night for a late bday celebration. I got the dinner with tofu instead of meat, which came with rice, sauteed vegetables and teriyaki sauce, miso soup, and a side salad. Oh man it was delicious! The tofu cubes were soooo good! My only feedback was I wish there was more sauce on the vegetables as they were a bit dry. I also got an order of yam rolls and veggie rolls, also super yummy! All of the food was fresh and just what I was craving :)The service was excellent, the two women working were attentive, kind, and accommodating. I also appreciate them not rushing us when we came in at 8 and only had an hour left till closing. The atmosphere too is really lovely and cozy, felt so nice amidst the weather outside. This would be my 3rd time eating food from here and won't be the last!“
“The first time I went here was because I didn't feel like waiting in line at Chicken for Lunch. Since that time, it's been a destination of choice. The service is always extremely kind and friendly. More importantly, the food is always delicious. Everything I've tried has been tasty and fresh and stratifying.“
“Went to get a drink while I was waiting for my passport application and ended up getting an excellent breakfast as well for just $8. super cheap, super good, and the guy working was excellent! Highly recommend if you’re looking for a quick bite and he made it all in front of me :)“
“Just had an amazing customer service experience. the guy at the counter was friendly, efficient, brought the food out, and came back later with their new menu. this was all while they were busy juggling online and in-restaurant orders. Super impressed. Plus the food was fresh and delicious!“
“Interior is more or less the standard western-japanese restaurant, menu is standard and not much creativity, but the good that comes out is quite high quality.I don't really have a reason to come back unfortunately since there are more interesting places to go for sushi.“
“Great place to get all you can eat sushi. You have the opportunity to try many different things you might not try if you have to buy one or two things. It's a bit pricey so if you're not hungry it wouldn't be worth it. Overall the sushi is good, not the best but good. It's usually very busy and tightly packed so reservations are very helpful. To management, please secure the toilet seat in the women's washroom.Vegetarian options: Yes, cucumber, avacado, yam rolls, soups and seaweed salad are all good options.Dietary restrictions: They have gluten free and vegetarianKid-friendliness: As long as your kids are okay with lots of people.“
“This is the best spot on Whyte to go to for Vietnamese food. Incredibly large portions at a great price and amazing depth to the flavours. The pho broth is savoury and not too sweet, just the way I like it. They also have their own versions of fried chicken wings that present an authentic taste. They are always consistently delicious and I would definitely recommend this place.“
“Great selection of sushi and sashimi and other things for those who don't like sushi. $40 per person all you can eat, I highly suggest only ordering 1 or 2 items to start as it can easily end up too much. If you have too much left over they reserve the right to charge the price for a complete dish. I think it's worth it. We went for a bday party it was very fast service and they handled the large table effectively. Food quality was good and it was clean.“
“I only tried a couple rolls, but they were amazing! They had a great restaurant in Cold Lake, AB (Red Bean) and they've only gotten better! Can't wait to back and try more. Great menu selections and highly recommend the Volcano Roll“
“Its 12AM and we decided to eat here in 137 ED branch. Its my first time eating here in Tokyo Express. Me and my friends liked the food! We ordered chicken and shrimp noodles, Onion cakes, some sushi, tempura and spring rolls. Everything is delicious and tasty! The place is quiet and clean. I am giving a raise to the staffs, Jayson and Rolando which were on shift that time. They are very accommodating and very patient taking our orders. They're very friendly and were smiling all the time which made us feel at home. They are quick in giving what we ordered and gave us our needs. You should give them a bonus! We will come back for sure!“
“My mom and I went for lunch and decided on take-out. When we walked walked in, wow! The interior is perfect, and the staff were extra friendly. I got the salmon sushi lover, and my mom got make your own bento box, with assorted tempura, miso soup, bulgogi beef, and the dynamite roll. The portion sizes were perfect and all the flavors were outstanding!“
“The food is very basic and affordable here especially the sushi. If you like the crazy loaded sauce sushi they won't be here. They have some really good crispy chicken noodle dishes and a variety of others. It feels very fast food so don't expect the expensive sushi to be here. I think the prices are reasonable and the restaurant is very clean. Customer service is awesome and this is just a simple in and out kinda place.“
“They really changed because of covid. It's not a sit down service restaurant anymore. More like counter service and wait at table with number. Still has an excellent sushi bar so that's good. I had beef. Terrible. Should've tried chicken.“
“This place has amazing owners and great fresh Japanese food! I like coming here for the raw Tuna poke bowl, salmon bento, and tuna or salmon sashimi amongst other things. Prices are fair and well worth supporting a local business over any of the chain restaurants around. I come often now that I work nearby and will be back soon!“
“Kobe is our favourite Japanese restaurant in the West End of Edmonton. It is a family run business and we have been going there for many, many years. Love the way they prepare their sashimi, sushi, rolls (avocado rolls!), and udons. Love the Japanese hospitality too!!!“
“Quality and quantity of food is spectacular. Everything we ordered was delicious and full of flavor.Takoyaki, love platter, karaage chicken, deep fried oysters and Salman tataki.I will always go back here for the food. The service, however, is slow. Usually one person man's the front and they are always slow to bring menus, take the order and then return with boxes at the end.Either than the service 5 stars! Everything, including washrooms are clean and tidy.“
“I've been a Mikado customer and enthusiast since the owner (David) was a sushi chef at the original location back in the early 1980s. The fact that I (now 'we') continue to be clients of this fine establishment for over four decades pretty much illustrates how highly we regard this group of restaurants. 5.5 stars out of 5!!!“
“Kyoto - Garneau has been one of my favourite Japanese restaurants since 2014. They have a wide selection of good quality items that come in great portions at amazing prices. Overall 9/10. Strongly recommend:- Bento- Grilled Hamachi Collar: Often out of stock- Sashimi, i.e. Sashimi Boat- Chirashi“
“Lots of parking in the strip-mall like area. Not a very pretty place to eat in. Order at the counter and they bring the food to your table. Seaweed salad : 10/10. Beef and chicken teriyaki: 10/10 loved the side of sesame sauce. Spider roll: 8/10. Hard to eat as so big. Flavor was just okay. Dragon eye: 8/10. to eat as so big. Flavor was just okay. Overall loved the Teppanyaki but sushi wasn't as good as I hoped.“
“Was just passing by the area but was hungry so decided to stop by this location as I enjoy Edo. I was astonished with the welcoming and friendly service, even with it being super busy I had my order ready quick enough and it was nice and fresh, I would recommend this “
“This is by far the best sushi restaurant I have ever eaten at and I have been coming here for years. Even my kids love it! The owners are very attentive and provide excellent service. The food tastes amazing. I would recommend over and over again. Love the cowboy and crazy rolls and the teriyaki chicken and salmon hotplates.“
