“The food was better than most take outs I've been to in a small town like this. The portions were very generous considering the lunch special was like 6 bucks. I actually got full. Food is made fresh on the spot when you order. What's not to like? Building needs some help but there's a certain "hole in the wall" charm to it. I'd come back.“

“Anyone who gave this restaurant a bad review is crazy. My extended family was in town so we made a BIG order for pick up ($140+). Gentleman on the phone was kind and got our entire order correct the first time. My family LOVES crab rangoons - Hands Down - these are the best in town! Full of seasoning and actual bits of delicious filling, not just soft cream cheese. So glad we got 3 bags of them because everyone wanted more. General Tso chicken had great flavor, sweet and sour chicken, honey chicken, Mongolian chicken, sesame chicken all tasted different and had the right amount of sauce. Broccoli beef was delicious and the broccoli wasn't over cooked or mushy. Kung pow chicken was amazing with peanuts and veggies and chicken bits. We skipped the white rice and got egg fried rice with onions - hot and perfect for soaking up the sauces! We all enjoyed the fortune cookies as well - they didn't tast weird like most places, just sweet and crunchy. And, if the food wasn't enough, my mom found a little paper bag on top of the food box with a beautiful satin scarf in it! If this was added because we made a big order - Thank you so much King Chef staff!! It made my mom's day and was such an incredibly cool thing to do.“

“I took a chance on this hood adjascent Chinese restaurant. Had a feeling. I asked for hot General Tso, and it was good and spicy. For less than $40, I ate like a king for probably four days... Met some great patrons, too, as the place filled up for take-out right after I ordered. I'm going back for sure. Nice counter staff, as well. This is my spot in Mobile.“

“I love them i always get the two entree with the lemon pepper wings with General Toso chicken with shrimp fried rice or sometimes honey chicken instead of lemon pepper chicken....when i tell you this is the besttttttt place I have ever been to and have gone to multiple times in a week. hey are amazing the honey chicken is off the chain and the lemon pepper chicken is really lemon pepper taste the general toso chicken has been by far the best i have ever had and the plate is 11.75 for soooo much food on the plate i thought they gave me extra wings bbut know they give you the full wing and drum just cut in half defintely worth it !!!!!!!!“

“Update: I decided to give them one last chance and I placed an order for bbq spareribs tips with shrimp and pork fried rice. General TSO chicken and pork fried rice.
The food was delicious and clean tasting. I did notice when I went to pick my food up there were some older family members cooking which is probably why the food tasted the way it did today. They obviously needed help instead rushing folks orders. They redeemed themselves so the right thing was to give an update as these reviews can make or break their business.

My family and I ate here at least every Friday but the last few times the food was awful. The quality has decreased tremendously. Chicken taste like they took it straight from the pack without washing it. Rice is cooked out of a rice cooker so don’t expect fried rice with your food. Seems like they only care about getting your money. Last time we all got sick. I’m in search of a new Chinese restaurant.“

“Always delicious authentic Chinese cuisine at a reasonable price. This is the only place I know of (as far as Chinese takeout) that serves a WHOLE chicken wing when you order their fried chicken wing.... and they are on the larger side of a wing. I only say this because I've had teeny tiny chicken wings from places like Popeyes that were laughable in comparison!I would for sure recommend this place to other foodies even though I know it might make my next takeout order take a little longer because of their delicious food thatI'm turning everyone on to.Bottom line....China Chef II is THE place for great food at a great place in midtown Mobile!“

“Food may not be authentic Chinese food but it was yummy nonetheless. No photos but I went during 7 pm and they made my teriyaki chicken fresh and fried rice wasn’t hard. I do wish the food was warmer, kinda cold. I always love to eat an apple pie roll after my meal, it’s so good. Sherie is very nice and she was the one who recommended me the apple pie roll, she didn’t disappoint. Service is wonderful, can’t complain too much, I know they’re working hard and it’s nice to see. Not sure why they only have 3.8 stars, a lot of people ate there when I went and they seem like they enjoyed it. Don’t mind the rating, eat there and see for yourself.“

“Delicious takeout, that's fast and affordable. The shrimp fried rice and egg rolls are my favorites. Apps, like Crab Rangoon and wontons, are sold by the each instead of by the order (i.e. 6 pieces or 10 pieces); so I never get enough. Easy in and out and closer to the freeway.“

“First time. I was pleased, the lemon pepper crawfish were hot and big also. I ordered corn and eggs as well and I'm glad to say they were fresh and seasoned good too. The eggs actually tasted good and not rubbery like they had been sitting all day.“

“Having only one visit, and trying only one entree ( Cashew Chicken), I don't know that the food rating deserves 5 stars. But my premonition is that the rest of the offerings at this (seemingly) typical are just as delicious. What I can be sure about is that the service is an absolute home-run. Efficient and helpful are the two best descriptives of the woman who took my order. At first glance, Golden Dragon looks like any other Chinese/American takeout joint. But the open galley kitchen provides built-in accountability for the customer. It also makes it plain to see that the owner/operators require a sense of urgency from themselves and everyone who works there. Oh...and the value for the customers. The menu prices are right in-line with every other spot in the area. I can't wait until my next visit. ??

Parking: There are a couple of fast food places at the top of the parking lot, but I will never bother with either of them ever again. The McDonald's and Churches Chicken locations are run in the most disappointing way I've ever seen. Use your $ at Golden Dragon and you will essentially get 2 meals for what you would spend at either of these.

Wheelchair accessibility: Typical strip-mall with wheelchair access ramps,crosswalks, and parking.“

“10/10. The last place where $10 gets you more food than you can handle. $20 stuffs three grown folks. Call ahead though, inside has been remodeled to be mostly for take-out.

Vegetarian options: Ooh Hot&Spicy Tofu is my favorite. I'm not a vegetarian at all, it's just Good.“

“Of all the Lomein I've had in my life...the Lomein here is so good I've had it 4 days in the past week! I order a large and eat off of it twice because it's a pretty big order and the crab rangoon are also the best I've ever had! I'm going to have to thank them next time I go for having such delicious food! and yes, I've had other food from them and none of it has ever been bad. this is just my new favorite! :)“

“I usually find that the hole in the wall type restaurants are the best and this place is no exception. The food is great, served quickly and comes at an excellent price. Only $8.95 gets you a combo with an entree, pork fried rice, an egg roll and a fortune cookie. For me, it's enough food to split into two meals. I've been here many times and will keep coming back regularly.Ditch the chain restaurants and SUPPORT LOCAL.“
