“Everything was delicious and portions are big enough to share. Their mint chutney is my favorite of anywhere. Tonight, I’m tried their rice pilau, a wonderful combination of basmati rice, peas, caramelized onions and yummy cashews. Perfect dish for a hot day, especially with some raita.“

“Amazing experience! The service was friendly, welcoming, and incredibly quick. I ordered the butter chicken, samosas, naan, chai, and mango lassi, and everything was delicious!

The butter chicken was absolutely delicious--the chicken was so tender, it practically melted in your mouth. The sauce was rich and flavorful, and it paired perfectly with the naan, which was brushed with butter and infused with aromatic herbs. The samosas were crispy and tasty, the chai was wonderful, and the mango lassi was creamy and refreshing.

The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, which made the whole experience even better.

The ambiance was wonderful too- inviting, comfortable making it a great place to sit down and relax and enjoy a delicious meal.

“Hamand was an excellent host to my son and I. I'm not a vegetarian but let me tell you, I didn't miss meat one bit. The Naan was like a mini down comforter made if flour, magic, garlic and butter. I got the Butter Paneer and my son got the Tikka Paneer. Both excellent. I also got a mango lassi — best I've ever had. Samosas, same. Do yourself a favor and check this place, even if (especially if) you're not a big vegetable person. Come get ya mind blown.“

Visited Dakshin near Desert Ridge back in August, and this turned out to be a really good find. Unfortunately, I didn’t take any pictures since my phone was running low on battery.

Since it was our first visit, we asked the hostess what she would recommend. She suggested three dishes, and we decided to simply trust her and order all three one chicken pulao, a biryani, and an appetizer.

All three turned out to be top class! The food was a little on the spicy side for us, but everything was packed with flavor and tasted fresh. Both the rice dishes were especially good, and we were very happy that we went with the hostess’s recommendations.

Sometimes the best restaurant experiences happen when you just ask what they do best and go with it. Dakshin was definitely one of those experiences. Great flavors, good recommendations, and a place we will certainly visit again!“

“THE MOST authentic vegetarian Indian restaurant I’ve been to in Phoenix. We come here all the time and we’re always the only non-Indians so you know it’s good. Everyone here is so welcoming and every time we come even the guests take their time to explain the different dishes. The food is delicious and it’s so worth it. Also their menu is more extensive than other restaurants I’ve been too. They even have Dosa!!“
