“My friend is in town and she has celiac so we were trying to find a good place for her to have variety. We found a recommendation for this place on a gluten-free page. To say the food was amazing is an understatement. I was shocked at how gluten friendly they are, even to the point of having a dedicated oven for the gluten-free pizza us. My friend was overwhelmed with all the amazing options, and absolutely loved that she could pick whatever she wanted. We had the focaccia bread, the bacon, mac & cheese, and the fungi Florentine pizza. Dessert we tried the apple crisp and the tiramisu, both are which are gluten-free. The food was incredible. We will definitely be back.”

“We are here from Massachusetts visiting our son who just had surgery. He wanted to take us for some amazing food and man he was spot on ! We have been here for five days and we eat out a lot. This Zu & Pocha Restaurant is by far top notch. It not only exceeded all of our expectations but surpassed a couple of crazy high-end joints that couldn't hold a candle to this place. I would be remissed if I didn't mention the amazing team effort from a top notch staff. Back home you would have a line out the door. My wife and I are stuffed with delicious food and drink. We are not opposed to spending money on a nice meal. But for a pound of king Crab Legs at $82 to have the shell soft, I was a bit disappointed. Most of the meat was good, the ends were dried out. I believe they sat in water too long.”

“Went there (party of two) last night for a meal of appetizers and drinks. We ordered the shrimp cocktail hoping for a chunky ceviche-type experience. The flavors were good and just the perfect kick. Our preference is a little less tomato juice and a little more of the chunky ingredients (reason for 4 on food). We also ordered the Queso Fundido. Very good flavors. Love the chorizo and the homemade corn tortillas.
Cadillac marg in a small glass...$19 (yikes!). Good but maybe not worth that price.
Service was excellent.
Downsides on this restaurant in general is how loud it is inside (reason for 3 of atmosphere) and how challenging to park(nothing they can do about parking).
Whoever owns this corner has put wayyyy too many busy restaurants in place for the amount of parking. So, if you want to come here arrive early as the restaurant is popular and they do not take reservations.
I definitely think overall the food is worth it and we will come back.”

“An incredible tradionally styled ramen shop! An incredibly friendly atmosphere was present the second I walked through the door. I had the house special tonkotsu ramen with all toppings, and when asked I decided to get medium spiciness (which was definitely within the Japanese standard of spice, which might be lower than you're used to if you have a lot of Mexican food like I do). The noodles were a perfect texture and taste, the broth was the perfect mix of savory with the richness tonkotsu is known for. The toppings like pickled ginger and black fungus added a delightful acidity.
I also had a side of a pork katsu bowl, which was absolutely delightful and was an excellent mild compliment to the diverse flavors of the house ramen.
This is my new local ramen shop and I couldn't be happier with the quality of food and service.”

While the acoustics can make the space a bit noisy, it's a minor trade-off for such a great dining experience. We highly recommend Spinato's and will definitely be back!”

“This review for Cortez is long overdue. To add the very short of it at the start, if you live in Arizona and drink freshly roasted coffee daily and you are not buying from Cortez, you need to at least try a bag. My first order was because it was cheaper than other local specificity roasters. I keep returning for more because of Cortez’s unique selection of odd and exciting fermentations and processes (Juicy Lulo springs to mind quickly). It is some of the best coffee you will ever have. Story Time: Sorry, not sorry. I used to go down the street from work and pick up bags from another Arizona roaster; however, I was laid off from GM along with over 900+ other people. I found Cortez by searching for a local coffee roaster that I could order by mail that would not break the bank to save some money. I made my first order on Nov 8th, 2023, and ordered a bag of Columbia Ocampos, plus some other small 8oz bags from Cameroon. I made my first cup of Ocampos and quickly realized that it was one of the best cups of coffee I have had, and with that, he had me hooked because, on Nov 22nd, I ordered a second order, then Dec 10th, Dec 22nd; you get the idea... I have been drinking coffee daily from Cortez for over a year, and each new, unique coffee gets better and better. My standard order is a monthly 2lb bag of Vulcan Azul for espresso and each new drop. When writing this, it is Colombia Vergel, which is just… amazing! It is fruity, acidic, and a real treat for the senses; who knew coffee could be so wild and flavorful! I had the pleasure of meeting Ron Cortez at his cafe (The Bright Side) in Tempe once a few months ago. He was an absolute pleasure, and I felt I could speak with him about coffee for quite a while. I ordered a pour-over Finca Amalita (that is his farm, so cool!), which was made in a vandola, and to this day, I have not had a better cup of coffee, and I really need to find some time to go back. Anyway... long story short, buy some Cortez Coffee.”

So i figured it would default chicken or something. It didnt. I just got plain jollof rice. That sucked. But the taste & flavor was STILL amazing. The restaurant/bar has a great indoor and outdoor space for eating and relaxing as you unwind from the day. With menu items that are crafted by expert nutritionists, it not only is some of the best tasting food I've tried, but I feel like I am glowing after eating there, consistently and without fail. It feels as though my body is thanking me over and over again continually for nourishing it so well. I have only experienced this rarely at other places, without consistency. Also, if you are vegan/vegetarian, the options provided have much to offer! I cannot speak highly enough of this place and would certainly eat there every day if I had the means to. If you have never tried it please waste no time and go give it a shot! I am confident you will be impressed. “This was my first time in Phoenix and I had a blast. First thing that morning I went for breakfast. I was the first customer at 7am. I decided on the freshman breakfast with vegan sausage. It was incredible! The eggs were fluffy and so buttery. The home fries were so well seasoned that I didn't even need ketchup. This was the first time I've been offered vegan sausage as a replacement. It was delightful. I absolutely love this spot. It is without a doubt one of the best eateries in the area! #ashsaidit”

“I am very impressed with this establishment. There was one waitress who did a terrific job. She greeted the customers upon entering the diner. This was on September 20th around 2pm. She was the only waitress during that time not sure why there was no one to assist her with the orders, but Kuddos to a job well done. She was on point taking the orders from four or more tables and each table had at least 3 or more people in their party. Hopefully she will be there when we visit again... I can't explain or begin to.say how delicious the food was. Everything was cooked to perfection. The food was so tasty. By me talking about this place makes me hungry. If I was rich, which I am not,or nowhere near that status, I would probably at some point go broke just dining at this facility. Thanks to the cooks and those who make this place a wonderful dining experience.”

Over the past years I was introduced to Nik and his services through a dear friend who has since passed. My family started to use his services for happy occasions as well as sad. So hadn't needed his services in quite a few years When the need came up last year I didn't think of calling anyone else but Nik. He this time delivered to our home for a Celebration of Life for our son. I knew I would need him again when my brother passed and so at the beginning of this year called and once again he provided his services. The food every time tastes even better than the last even though I choose the same menus and the service along with the pricing is suburb! I can't say enough about Nik and AZ Inspirations Catering and so sorry it took me this long to give my review. When the occasion arises again I know who I will be calling! Sonora Cocina Express is a 1/2 mile from my front door but I'd never been there before. All that has changed now... I've been there 3 times in the last week. What do I like about this joint? #1... it has a different menu. This is not the typical drive-thru taco shop... not the typical sit-down Mexican restaurant. #2... they serve 5 different soups... 6 days a week! #3... they serve street tacos... with 7 different meats available. #4... there are daily specials. Friday is a tamale special... and the red pork tamales are made fresh that day! So far... I eaten the Red Pozole... Cabeza Tacos... Green Chilaquiles w/ Eggs... and the Red Menudo w/ Bread. All were delicious!”

Tonight, we branched out and tried the artichoke dip, which was fantastic as well. We shared dinner with family, and they thoroughly enjoyed everything too. The service was excellent—friendly and attentive—and the food arrived quickly, piping hot and fresh. While the acoustics can make the space a bit noisy, it's a minor trade-off for such a great dining experience. We highly recommend Spinato's and will definitely be back!”

Definitely my new favorite spot near campus.”

“"Manager" Amy served what she claimed was a lemon drop, confirmed she made it with vodka and sprite, then when I explained the specs in a lemon drop she told me "I'm wrong" she claimed she googled it, and then claimed I must have never been a bartender. I currently run a bar program for a multi-operation franchise, as well as being pretty competent as a bartender so I'm pretty sure I know how a lemon drop is made. Included is what it looks like when you "Google a lemon drop". I get it's a "dive bar" I used to work in one in Tempe for years, but you also don't argue with the people paying you for drinks when they try to clarify what they order. Further, she then confronted the person the lemon drop was for, and threatened to call the police on her for complaining?? I'm not sure what the police were gonna do but they'd probably make a better lemon drop than this lady did.”
