“I frequent Joey Burnaby, however, it was my first time having the blackened chicken, which was very yummy. What really impressed me was the hot potato salad that came with the meal - delicious!!! Everyone else in our party really enjoyed their meals too. Even though the room was very energetic we could still have a decent conversation. It added to the level fun we were having for a twin birthday celebration. The server was excellent, very attentive especially because we had someone who is celiac and has special food limitations.“

“A beautiful location on a sunny Saturday afternoon on the patio. Excellent service and a great menu. However I was extremely disappointed in my summer corn salad which was smaller than an appetizer! I finished it in 3 bites! My friends’ Caesar and Tuscan salads were meal sized portions.“

“I had the pleasure of dining at Brown Social House and left thoroughly impressed by both the cuisine and the service. I ordered the Butcher’s Block Burger, which featured a perfectly cooked, flavorful beef patty topped with crispy, smoky bacon and crisp, fresh lettuce. “Hosting our wedding at Riverway was definitely one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. It is such a beautiful and centrally-located venue. The ceremony space is right by the water and is truly so stunning in the summer. The indoor reception space is large with wooden beams and natural lighting, which meant we didn’t have to invest in as much décor as well as it was already naturally beautiful. Bradley is such an incredibly kind and patient person – we had so many questions in the months leading up to the wedding, and he answered all of them in such a timely and thoughtful manner. He was so helpful for our rehearsal as well and he even checked in with us in-person on the day of, to congratulate us and to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. We feel so lucky that we worked with Bradley for the wedding – even though he must deal with so many couples, he definitely made us feel cared for and was a big reason for why we were so happy with our venue choice.

Additionally, because the venue is owned by the City of Burnaby, we really appreciated that there were no hidden fees that we had to account for such as administrative fees, taxes, or service charges. The bartending and event staff were also very attentive and kind, and the buffet line ran very efficiently despite that we had 200+ guests. We got so many compliments from our family and friends on how beautiful the wedding was and most importantly, how delicious the buffet was (in particular, the mashed potatoes, striploin, and sticky toffee pudding). We feel so lucky that we were able to snag a spot in the summer for our wedding at Riverway – it is definitely one of the best venues in Metro Vancouver and we would highly recommend it to any couple!

We had a lot meals and he took the time to ensure everything was correct. Our order was ready for the exact time we requested and every meal was correct. Thanks Mark for taking the extra time .“

“I went with friends for a birthday dinner. The food was great, and the restaurant has a classy feel. Our servers, Rachael and Ritish were very warm and genuine. They presented the birthday girl with a delicious lava cake(looked beautiful on the plate)and sang happy birthday 🙂“

“I've always liked white spots and their legendary burger. Was a little disappointed on this visit as the burger was somewhat dry, little overcooked and the fries were not fresh. Fresh. I did get a reorder of fries which were much better. Overall. I was a little disappointed.“

“I normally have a great experience but this time it was a bit off. My water glass was filthy, I asked for a new one which was also filthy so I didn’t bother to drink water. Both our potatoes were burnt and then my friend was charged an extra THREE dollars for a tiny bit of hollandaise sauce for her eggs bene. That’s a bit ridiculous.“

“We were visiting from out of town and stopped at Cactus Club for my partners birthday dinner. We are so happy we chose Cactus as the food and service were great!

We were lucky to have Ghayass as our server and they were amazing! Very attentive and made our birthday celebration feel special. Huge shout out to Ghayass!

For food we started with the calamari and it was amazing, I could have eaten a large entree sized portion of just this! We also got a green goddess salad that was great and the bolognese pasta which was really good.

We ordered a crème brûlée for desert and Ghayass made it special by bringing it out with a happy birthday message and a candle, thank you so much! The dessert was amazing!

“X-site restaurant, clearly named after its excellent food and exciting experience. Owner is a friendly and memorable character.
Quite popular restaurant with often a line, on Mondays. Nevertheless, the line moves fast and tables are always spacious and clean. Food comes very quickly. I almost always get the peppercorn steak, medium rare and it’s phenomenal. The washrooms are even a highlight, as they smell great and are clean. I would recommend this place any day, as the drink specials, service and food are exceptional. When grabbing your bill, the price truly is the cherry on top. A lower budget for a quality dinner, ensures I always tip BIG. I am beyond grateful places like this exist, and I want to keep coming back to support them.“

“Service was fantastic! Ordered the breakfast meal and the fish and chips and they came with so much food. The breakfast was tasty and hot, loved the sausage. The fish was top tier and fresh some of the better fish and chips I’ve ever had.“

“There's been a power outage in parts of BC for over 10 hours today (some 200k+ without power). Understandably, when we got to the White Spot, Kensington Square, there was a crowd of folk looking to get a meal. Under these circumstances, the service was as good as could be expected. Emma, our server, was a delight. She kept checking in us even though she had so many tables to manage. Christine, the AGM was brilliant! Calm, welcoming, beautiful warm smile that let us know she had everything under control and we'd be seated as soon as was possible. Jeferson (one f) the GM was dealing with everything else to ensure things went smoothly, and still had time to offer us a free dessert because our meal had been delayed.“

“Came here for Pirate Pak Day, which is probably peak busy day for White Spot. Had about a half hour wait before we were seated, but good thing is they have a large free parking lot.

Service was a bit slower, which is expected given how busy the place was.

Good location for family dining and usually has seating available. Definitely gets busier as more people live in the Brentwood area.“

Their wings are crispy, juicy, and packed with flavor, with a wide range of sauces to satisfy every palate. Staff are friendly, attentive, and helpful. With great deals running all week, it’s easy to enjoy quality food without overspending. If you're craving comfort food done right, WINGS Kingsway is a must-visit.
