“We came for a good bye dinner with our team. Our company closed and Glowbal was selected by numerous recommendations from our other colleagues. “The hostesses at the front are vibrant and charming. They offer a complimentary glass of champagne to sip while you’re waiting. If you don’t imbibe, they will accommodate your soft drink request. We were seated at a table on the patio which is very close to the street. So if you choose to sit on the patio, There will be city sounds which, apart from the occasional siren, quickly dissolves into the artful landscaping. Raven, our server, was friendly and cheerful, in addition to being appropriately attentive. We started with the mini steak French dips. Expertly seasoned and grilled, new york steak strips over a button of gruyere cheese atop a tiny slice of sourdough garlic bread with a side of au jus. These were quite more-ish. I recommend them. My husband enjoyed the Mediterranean salad and I liked my seared ahi tuna salad very much. The tuna is sliced thicker than carpaccio but thinner than sushi and gently seared. The plating was elegant and the salad finely chopped with bits of mango and shaved avocado on the top.. I tasted a bit of mint leaf and the light dressing was truly perfect. The staff pay attention to the guests and, when your server is busy, they make themselves available for your needs. It appears the staff members enjoy each other’s company as well as their jobs. I observed real teamwork throughout. We had the apple pie for dessert. On its own it is delicious with a caramel apple filling and it’s flaky , buttery and crunchy crus. It can easily be shared by three people and would have been enough. But do’gild the lily’ by adding the Canadian maple ice cream. We felt comfortable and satisfied. We were pleased with every bite and the Joey Burrard experience from start to finish. We will definitely go back and try some other offerings. Go and have fun. And talk to the very friendly staff who are so willing to engage.“

I wish I lived in Vancouver because I would frequent Nightingale weekly. Service was prompt and they were consistently keeping the drinks flowing.“

“Over many years of meals and events, I recently discovered Hawksworth's Cocktail Hour in its cozy lounge. Every seat in the room is a comfy one, though I favour saddling up to the bar. You will always find a cocktail or wine to your liking. We usually order near everything from the food menu. Sometimes wagyu, currently prosciutto, always oysters. Main reason I keep coming back is the people. Service in this space never disappoints. I have favourites, of course. You know who you are...“

It not easy to park on West Broadway but if you don't mind 5 minute walk - plenty of parkades are available in office buildings nearby.“

“Had such a great experience here! The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and accommodating throughout the evening. The food was delicious, especially the steak, which was perfectly cooked, tender, and juicy.

We came to celebrate my birthday, and the team went out of their way to make the evening special. Although they have a policy about not storing outside food in their fridge, the manager was kind enough to provide us with a bucket of ice to keep our cake cool during dinner.

“We had such a lovely meal at L’Abattoir! We did the tasting menu and were impressed throughout the meal. Everything was delicious! I really appreciate the pacing of the night- we never felt rushed but food also felt like it came out right as you were feeling ready for the next course. The steak tartare, salmon, and quail were all superb standouts. Both desserts were delicious and large portions! We definitely felt happily stuffed when leaving. The service was really remarkable. “Salmon n’ Bannock On the Fly is my go-to lunch place when I’m flying internationally, it’s by far the best airport food I’ve had. The salmon was seasoned and cooked perfectly, and while I love my own bannock, theirs is top notch too. I love supporting Indigenous businesses and just wish they had a spot on the domestic terminal too!“

“My sons took me here for Father’s Day as my wife was working and the weekend schedule was otherwise full. Originally we tried to go to a smaller place I’d been to before but they were really busy and you needed to have a reservation.

Brown’s had been open 1/2 hour so I felt it was big enough that they would have space on Father’s Day as we had done something similar on Mother’s Day in the past.

We were seated inside and they had some giant TVs on with some sports on that day.

Our older son had the Strawberries & Cream French Toast made using brioche bread with strawberries, and fresh whipped mascarpone cream. He was in heaven!

Our younger son had the Bacon Eggs Benedict as he loves a good Benny for brunch! The poached eggs were cooked to perfection!

I ordered the Angus Beef Hash with tender beef, poached eggs, crispy potatoes, corn, caramelized shallots, roasted peppers, hollandaise sauce and think cut toast. It was incredibly delicious!
