“Me and my friend were there earlier today. Our server Tia was absolutely phenomenal! She has such a friendly, professional demeanor and she is very very knowledgeable and gives amazing recommendations. I ordered a French 75 and originally it was too strong. Tia then suggested adding some sprite or seven up and then it was so so so perfect! The bartender is also extremely talented. He added just the right amount of sprite or seven up to make the French 75 the perfect combination of sweet and tart. It is really really impressive how accommodating this place is. I would give 10 stars if I could. Overall, such a great experience and I will definitely be back. This first visit set the bar sky high.“

“This is my go to pub/place to have an event with friends. I have been going here for years and I absolutely love it. The last few times I have gone however, it feels off or weird. The older bald bouncer guy is kinda rude and kept my friends waiting at the entrance for over 30 minutes, until I arrive and pointed out clearly free tables. It was almost like a weird power trip over these girls who were there to celebrate a birthday. I also had a previous experience with an incredibly rude manager. Other than that the rest of the staff is absolutely amazing and always contributes to us having an amazing time. Some staff need to chill out a bit though, because they change the energy of an otherwise amazing place. The food is great for pub food and the drinks are great. Whenever I get the bill I'm always shocked how affordable it is compared to other bars (which I love). Overall good place with mostly amazing staff.“

I ordered the Butcher’s Block Burger, which featured a perfectly cooked, flavorful beef patty topped with crispy, smoky bacon and crisp, fresh lettuce. “Okay, I am a regular customer for years which is why I have 5 stars. And I love the Great Bear, it’s my favourite spot (kind of like the show Cheers) but I must let the owner know that the change in food has been terrible. I went the other day and was so disappointed that they changed the fries and crispy chicken burger. I brought a friend who had never been there before and I was raving about the food, and to my disappointment they changed the fries to the same you get at Costco. I understand maybe you’re trying to cut costs or make things easier for the kitchen staff but please please bring the old fries back!!!!“

“We arrived right when a large dinner party was leaving, so we had to wait quite a while to get seated, for someone to take our order, and for water to arrive. Otherwise, the food was amazingly cheap for how much you received! We also received extra ice cream at the end for the trouble.“

“This is one of my favourite bars to go to. I like this bar because they have a large diverse food menu and everything I’ve tried here has been good. Another thing I like about this place is they have Stella and Heineken on tap which are my two favourite beers. The food here is great and I will continue coming to this great bar.“
