Thank-you for letting us rent your GOLDEN VALLEY house. We are so grateful Joyce Wurtele found you on the AIRBNB site! What a RESTFUL NEST for 3 days & 2 nights. The valley views were stunning. We loved interacting with the cows, chickens & of course MONTY. After our cycling days the 5 of us thoroughly enjoyed the dinners you served. What a FEAST to the EYES! Everything was DELICIOUS! “The coffee shop at the Butchart Gardens is a decent spot to grab a bite and have a drink of coffee.
It wasn’t something spectacular, but it got the job done. Me and my girlfriend needed a little bit of energy after the ferry ride to the island, and this did the trick.
My main complaint though? It is pretty expensive, considering the already high price of entry to the garden itself.“

“This is my second time eating at the new version of Island Bagel, now called Island Bagel and Bannock. Had salmon and cream cheese on a bagel this time. Best smoked salmon in my life. All around delicious, fresh, and the service was friendly. Had bannock last time and it was also amazing. Highly recommended.“

“The comments about theft are aimed at the previous owners! As of July 1 2024, Rusticana Ice Cream & Coffee are now operating at this location. The new owners are amazing and have completely renovated, as well as bringing in locally sourced products check it out!!“

“After a busy morning at the Gardens, my husband and I and our friend stopped here for lunch.
This place is kind of like a cafeteria. Some things you carry back to your table on a tray but other things, like the entrees, are brought to your table.
My husband and I each had the Seafood Chowder with fresh bread and a salad. We had been eating so much this trip we decided to go healthy. But we threw our good intensions into the wind by sharing the Wildberry Trifle.
Our friend had the pasta.
Everything was well prepared, well presented and excellent.
This is a sheltered restaurant that protects you from the sun, but it's open too, so there's a gentle breeze. Lots of plants everywhere of course. Great surroundings for your meal.
The service and staff are excellent.“
