The fries are golden, crispy, and homemade — straight cut with just the right thickness. The cheese curds? Easily the best I’ve ever had anywhere west of Quebec. The steamy dog all dressed is a true classic, and hard to come by out here, but this is the place to get it if you’ve been craving that authentic bite. Bravo. I’ll definitely be back. 10/10.“

“I’ve been meaning to do this for the last month and I have finally gotten around to it. Every Saturday we go for lunch at White Spot and we have been greeted by a host named Emma. (We finally found her name out last week) she seems to really love her job and goes out of her way to make us feel very welcome, chatting and joking with us while she gets us a booth. Always with a smile on her face, hair, neatly done and those nails! My daughter looks forward to every Saturday when she gets to see what colour or design is on her nails. The servers are excellent, regardless of which one you get. (Sorry, don’t know your names) very attentive, polite and know their job well. When it’s busy, the servers and the greeters work together to make sure we are not waiting long. The food is always consistent, but what set them apart is the people. They have a great team there, from the moment you walk in to the time you leave, you feel like you are appreciated. Would recommend this to anyone who thinks atmosphere is an important part of the dining experience.“

“Hosting our wedding at Riverway was definitely one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. It is such a beautiful and centrally-located venue. The ceremony space is right by the water and is truly so stunning in the summer. The indoor reception space is large with wooden beams and natural lighting, which meant we didn’t have to invest in as much décor as well as it was already naturally beautiful. Bradley is such an incredibly kind and patient person – we had so many questions in the months leading up to the wedding, and he answered all of them in such a timely and thoughtful manner. He was so helpful for our rehearsal as well and he even checked in with us in-person on the day of, to congratulate us and to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. We feel so lucky that we worked with Bradley for the wedding – even though he must deal with so many couples, he definitely made us feel cared for and was a big reason for why we were so happy with our venue choice.

Additionally, because the venue is owned by the City of Burnaby, we really appreciated that there were no hidden fees that we had to account for such as administrative fees, taxes, or service charges. The bartending and event staff were also very attentive and kind, and the buffet line ran very efficiently despite that we had 200+ guests. We got so many compliments from our family and friends on how beautiful the wedding was and most importantly, how delicious the buffet was (in particular, the mashed potatoes, striploin, and sticky toffee pudding). We feel so lucky that we were able to snag a spot in the summer for our wedding at Riverway – it is definitely one of the best venues in Metro Vancouver and we would highly recommend it to any couple!

“There's mystery in the air. JK World Group (JKWG) recently acquired Westwood Plateau Golf Course and Driving Range as well as both restaurants, JK World Group (JKWG) rebranded the golf course and the executive golf course as GreenTee Country Club Westwood Plateau. JKWG renamed the golf courses, Westwood Plateau Sky & Westwood Plateau Fine. They also rebranded Fairways Grill and Patio to Jess’ Fine, and the Apres Bar and Kitchen to Jess’ Sky.

I'm not sure who picked Jess as the first name for both restaurants. I'm not a fan because it's a struggle when trying to use voice commands to enter the name into Google Maps.

Sadly, the manager and several other staff members have chosen to move on after the acquisition. Thankfully, one of our favourite waitresses, Heather, is still there and served us that night. She is always happy and does a great job.

Another change we noticed is the addition of tablets which have been attached to the tables, though they aren't yet functional. My friends and I agreed that we hope the tablets aren't going to replace the wait staff. We like the personal interaction that comes with in-person service.

The tablets, in their current configuration, will be difficult to use. They are attached to one end of the table, block access to the seats, and don't rotate. Unless they are removable, one of the people at the table will have to enter everyone's order. We can do that from home and enjoy our dinner in the comfort of our own living room.

Perhaps the tablets could be given to the staff to take our orders and continue to deliver the excellent service we have come to expect.“

“We booked the restaurant for a half day on a beautiful Sunday for a 40 people Birthday Party. They have a lovely indoor space and an equally amazing patio area. The sound system is high quality. You can play your own music as well. The buffet was delicious as well. Parking is plenty. Overall, a 5/5 experience.“

“We were visiting from out of town and stopped at Cactus Club for my partners birthday dinner. We are so happy we chose Cactus as the food and service were great!

We were lucky to have Ghayass as our server and they were amazing! Very attentive and made our birthday celebration feel special. Huge shout out to Ghayass!

For food we started with the calamari and it was amazing, I could have eaten a large entree sized portion of just this! We also got a green goddess salad that was great and the bolognese pasta which was really good.

We ordered a crème brûlée for desert and Ghayass made it special by bringing it out with a happy birthday message and a candle, thank you so much! The dessert was amazing!
